Can I add photos of a PARK/RIDE that aren't currently in our database?
Yes, but you will have to submit that park and/or ride first. If you don't have their full details you can enter a 'placeholder' entry with just the name and basic details.

Why wasn't the photo I submitted published?
First, check any notes left by the editor in your Profile. Photos that don't meet our quality requirements may not be published.

Can I add photos of my friends and I that I took at INSERT PARK HERE?
No. We accept photos of parks and rides, not holiday snapshots. Feel free to share such photos in our forums however, or on one of the many online photo sharing communities.

Can I submit my on-ride photo?
No. We are after photos of parks and rides, not people. For on-ride/POV photos see below.

I took my camera onto INSERT RIDE HERE and have some great point-of-view photos, can I submit them?
We assume that any such photos were taken within the park's rules and/or with the consent of park officials. It is a theme park's responsibility to enforce any loose items policies for a particular ride, not ours so any such photos can be submitted. We do not condone contravening park rules; they are typically there for the safety of you and fellow park guests.

I am an employee of INSERT PARK HERE and have some great photos from behind the scenes. Can I submit them?
Behind the scenes photos will gladly be accepted. Ensure that you are following any terms of employment before submitting photos.

I have some photos that are fairly similar to others already on Parkz, can I add them too?
It depends if you think they are different enough. Sometimes we won't approve very similar photos, typically if they aren't as good as the original such as overcast, blurry, crooked or contain crowds. If yours are better on the other hand, we'll gladly accept them.

One of the photos on your site belongs to me!
Contact us with the link to the page that the photo is on plus any details of your own that will assist us. We are very conscious of intellectual property and will promptly act on any such complaints.

Can I use INSERT PHOTO HERE for commercial purposes?
Please contact us in regards to licensing photos for commercial usage. Because many of the photos on this site belong to members of Parkz, we cannot guarantee that they will be available or the fee attached.

I represent INSERT PARK HERE and we have some photos that we'd like published on Parkz.
There are two ways you can go about this. You can have an employee sign up here and directly upload the images themselves, in which case please specify clearly in the USER NOTES section that they are official photos. Alternatively, contact us and we can handle the publishing directly.

Why do some photos say "Roller-Coaster.com.au" in the corner?
Parkz was originally conceived as a replacement / spin-off of Roller-Coaster.com.au, a popular Australian theme park website. When the change was made, all the content from that site moved directly to here.

Can I upload my photos with a watermark/URL in the corner?
We ask that you refrain from this; our system automatically stamps all photos with a Parkz logo, primarly as a method of minimising "hotlinking". Because of this we ask that photos are clear of alterations as they may interfere with this element. Your name will always appear alongside any photos you upload.

Should I resize or alter my photos before uploading them?
If your photos are crooked it helps us if you can straigten them out yourself. Photos will be automatically resized and compressed by our system so you don't need to reduce the size yourself, though if they are especially large (more than 3 megapixel) it may speed up the upload process for you if you reduce the size. Try and limit JPEG compression where possible.
Feel free also to perform any colour balance or correction you deem necessary.
