Hi
Nothing is put in stone but I am putting out a expression of interest for people to join me on a group trip to NYC in late August early september. Staying one week and visiting Six Flags Great Adventure, Coney and Rye Playland, Lake Compounce and Six Flags New England plus some time to do your own stuff such as Sight seeing, shopping, See a show or a night out somewhere.
So just give me an idea if your interested in doing something like this or have other ideas let me know
Thanks Ed

NYC tour update
Hi I have almost finished putting this tour together all my quotes are in i have done a costing i have gone ahead and put together a tour itinerary Which is currently with my graphix designer who is designing my tour brochure at the moment. i will be selling this through my club and im wanting 25 people to attend. i have came up with a rough price of $1550.00 but i know that price will drop because every qoute i get i add couple percent on top to cover any increases.
I have spoken to all the parks that i have mention and they all were really keen to see a group of Aussies visit and the people in those parks have been extremely accommodating and easy to deal with. I will leave it at that and hopefully next time i reply here i will have our brochure done.
thanks Ed

hmm i don't know quite what to say... 1500 for a trip to nyc seems impossibly cheap to me. Having been there myself i know accommodation alone would be more than that for a week.
What is your motivation behind wanting to organise an overseas trip like this with complete strangers?

Doesn't TPR do this all the time?
I'd say the reason the quote is cheap is because most of these parks are outside NYC.

Hi there are lot more benefits to doing a group tour
apart from strong aussie dollar and cheaper airfares to New york
1 you meet new people
2 Its fun
3 As a group of Aussies people actually geniunely like us and our laidback culture and spirit we bring
4 It is cheaper than doing yourself unless you want to backpack it
5Having spoken with the parks as a group we will be getting the same perks as anybody else
6 In my tour no early morning rises i want to sleep when im holiday's
7 regards to the price i have spent a month getting qoutes back from about 10 -15 hotels who accept group bookings and as a group you get a different rate. Same with the parks and transport
8 This tour gives more opportunity but not just the coaster enthusiast but more families and people with disabilities who are going to need time to prepare for their day. i would like to attract more ladies too as all the coaster tours i have been on and i have seen all have a large majority of men.
9 i am breaking up the days we visit parks so we can do other things The ladies can go shopping and visit cafes and museums together or if you like me i will be spending time in music stores some people might want to return to the park themselves
10 when you do parks consistantly ever day it becomes overkill and when you get home the last thing you want to do is ride a rollercoaster or visit a park. So when we do visit a park you are excited not tired and ready to go and you will enjoy it more.
10 my personal motivation Apart from absolutely love my coasters im studying tourism at college this year and want to become a licence travel operator that specialises in coaster and theme park tours and Jazz tours plus by doing the club i can show that their is a market in australia for this type of recreation and when i have to eventually go to the bank to ask for a loan to register for travel compensation fund i will need to prove that my product is sustainable and will be able to payback the loan.
11 i am putting up the expression of interest here is because you are all like me and love your coasters and talking about this helps me with market research
Anyway im keeping mum about the tour itinerary as of yet i need to put some terms and conditions and im waiting back from my insurance company for our liability insurance cost which could put the cost up but not by much oh their is no airfares in that price.
thanks Ed

None of this makes any sense. Has anyone here ever met this person in real life?

Hey there.. All I wanna say on this is I appreciate the idea, I really do... BUT I can tell you one thing right now, there is NO WAY such a tour can be done for $1500 odd bucks - no offence but I work in the travel industry and have done so for many years now. With my own exclusive travel benefits i might be able to arrange my own transport for a fraction of that cost but even your best tight arse rate with an airline like say china airlines, you'd be lucky to get to NYC for that price and barely have a few dollars left over to spare.
Nice try if I give you the benefit of the doubt but your not kidding anyone if ripping people is what your trying to do

I think the $1500 price is just for the actual one week tour of NY, It wouldn't include flights to and from.
TPR typically present their trips in a similar manner...You arrange your own transport to the tour start point, but from then on everything else is included.

It is my opinion that this guy is attempting to hood wink us. This is ridiculous, although I have never been scammed before. Its kind of fun

And...who the hell is this guy? He hasn't been active here often and all the sudden..discount trips for strangers woo hoo. lol, I crack myself up!

^^agree with Gazza, presumably flights over there aren't included. This would be on par with any other coaster club style tour. In that situation, the package price is quite comparable to TPR.

Hi i have been reading what other people have written about me being a stranger and i never post on here and im scamming people cant be trusted. i didn't want nor should i respond because its an opinion based on assumptions and has no truth or proof that i am dishonest and im not trustworthy. i rather find it hurtful and belittling my efforts.
However their is over 2000 registered users here and im sure some people would be interested in what i do and i dont want them persuaded by someone else 's assumption or perseption. you can
Visit My Website see what i am about and what i have to offer.
Up the top is an outline on what you get with my proposed tour it is similar to others however my itinerary is totally different. anyway im not saying anymore about my tours and events except on my site and if interested you are welcome contact me, email or phone and talk about anything i have on offer. I would like it if you did but thanks for reading or hearing what i had to say.

I'm sorry, but when some stranger comes to a board with "hopes" about getting randoms to go to another country and spend time in theme parks for some reason..is weird.
Maybe you should try scalping the tickets..lol

You're becoming obnoxious again spencer.
And scalping - 1. To engage in the reselling of something, such as tickets, at a price higher than the established value.
Ed isn't scalping - it's not like you couldn't go out and find the tickets to buy for yourself, but i've done a quick look around, and for the most part, it looks like these are reasonably discounted when you take into account meals etc are included also. Ed has packaged this, and established a price point - so he isn't "reselling higher than the established value".
He isn't exactly a stranger - he's been a member longer than I have, he just hasn't been as active in posting.
I would bet if Richard tried to organise one of these things, you'd be the only member standing there saying "Rip Off" while the other 2-3000 of us would be happily handing money over to go.
In the original thread I think I suggested to run some smaller meet n greets before trying to hit people up for some serious cash - and he has organised them. Obviously few of these have actually happened yet, but I am sure that if you attended a local one, got to know Ed etc, you'd be more comfortable with the idea - Ed I presume the Superman Escape breakfast is something where you could be paid on the day rather than in advance? (because that would give people a little assurance).
Now go back and read the other threads Ed started earlier. You will see I was profoundly against his original idea and I made suggestions on what he should do to "legitimise" himself - and he has done most of it.... i am satisfied (with the exception of who holds onto this large wad of cash and how long they hold it before we depart) but if Ed has continued to follow the rules - business registrations, established financial accounts in trust etc, it would be virtually impossible for him to run away with anybody's money without legal ramifications - and believe me - if you're going to try and scam people's money, you wouldn't have put so much personal detail online about yourself, nor would you be asking for $1500 x 25. Trying to run away with $37,000 isn't enough to elude the law. You need millions to do that.
I pursue fraudsters every day - and i'm telling you, Ed sounds legit.
Oh and before I go - Ed is a stranger? No more than you are spencer....mrt....docbrown....batman....didileaveanyofthemout?

Hi
With my propose trip i haven't finished working out some details like term n conditions and im shopping around for a travel agent who specialises in group airline bookings. I can say i will accept installments with payments however i need to speak with my accountant to review my pricing strategy before i actually release this. I am still awaiting to here my cost from my insurance broker but i have allready added that cost into the proposed price.
thanks Ed
