  1. Didn't see a 2017 thread to post this in. http://www.news.com.au/national/queensland/dozens-trapped-at-the-top-of-movie-world-roller-coaster/news-story/79bc538852f9ee125e1fd5fe03a647e1 They really are quick to reference the Dreamworld Tragedy every single opportunity they get.
  2. Gonna be sad to see the ride go now it's confirmed to be demolished. Always have the memories - particularly from back in the day when it had the animal theming.
  3. What dates are Carnivale usually held? Is it April?
  4. Sounds like this year was better than last year. Last year seemed a bit empty - the staff always have great make up done though
  5. I didn't use that wording - only posted what the news had said. Jeez. Gonna cost them big to demolish the entire area. Retheme the buzzsaw or demolish it?
  6. The news was saying the park will stay closed until after the funerals of the victims. In a situation like this, since it will be closed another week or two (one would guess) are the park staff still getting paid as they have no choice in the matter about being unable to work?
  7. http://www.kidspot.com.au/parenting/real-life/in-the-news/why-im-still-taking-my-three-kids-to-dreamworld Feeling like I lost a few IQ points reading this rubbish. This genius reckons the river rapids ride will be up and running in a couple of weeks for when her family visits the GC and she'll go toss the kids on it. She's more interested in talking about getting a "wet bum", I guess the four people who died were just an inconvenience to her holiday.
  8. Channel 7 reported tonight the cops have shut down the park opening tomorrow as it is 'still an active crime scene'
  9. http://www.news.com.au/national/queensland/investigators-seek-witness-reports-on-machinery-malfunction-at-rapids-ride-at-dreamworld/news-story/e777769020ced940ed280c0c7c608711 Another article on the water pump (speculation)
  10. Just watching Channel 7 news and they mentioned one of the operators of the ride was an 18 year old girl apparently on her first day working there. (If that is true... Would they really put her on there first day?) More info, they are saying a water pump failed, lowering the water level and forcing the raft to become stuck. Would be interesting if it was true - whether that was the cause of the problem earlier in the day. (Again, if true)
  11. Another fear mongering news article posted this. (obviously we await the investigation results)
  12. Just left Fright Night - it seemed so dead in some areas. Didn't seem to be much energy in the atmosphere - I spent my night in the interactive area trolling people coming out of the maze with the Killer Croc fountain lol I'm doing the UTT tomorrow night - really hoping it picks up. At the moment it seems last year was way better. Atleast i got to stock up on Harley Quinn gear ?
  13. Can anyone tell me in the shop for Doomsday was open during any of the Fright Nights?
  14. http://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/incidents/sea-world-rollercoaster-breaks-down-leaving-people-stranded/news-story/cb7abc4517609625e66096c29ecdbcff I think I read somewhere else they have been having problems with it lately?
  15. I'm only new to posting, long time reader but I'll be there on the 15th for the terror tour dressed as Harley
