Submitting Photographs

Parkz is a 100% user driven website. We encourage all members to submit their own photos to Parkz.

Photography Guidelines :

To ensure that your photos get published we have set up a few basic guidelines.

  1. Parkz is not for sharing holiday snapshots. This isn't to say that photos you've taken on a holiday can't be submitted, provided they are photos of interest to general viewers. Just make sure they're photos of theme parks, not of you or your family.
  2. Try to keep faces out of photos. As a courtesy to other park guests, when composing your shots wait for them to be out of the way or find an angle where there won't be people nearby. If it's a photo of riders on a ride that's generally OK.
  3. Follow all park rules while taking photos. Please only submit point-of-view or on-ride photos from parks where this is permitted.
  4. Photos should be your own. Don't submit photos from another website or from someone else without the copyright holder's permission. We are not after duplicates of other sites' photos. Respect copyright laws at all times!
  5. Do not watermark or add text to images. Part of our automated publishing process includes the adding of a standard watermark to all photos to ensure consistency. This is done primarily to protect your photos and our bandwidth expenses. Your photos will all be clearly credited with text.
  6. Photos do not appear immediately due to our internal approval process so please be patient. You can see a list of all photos you've submitted and whether they were approved or rejected in your profile. Where possible our staff will add a short explanation in the case of rejections but this isn't guaranteed. The successful publishing of photos is at the sole descretion of Parkz staff.
  7. Parkz is after high quality photographs. They should be high resolution and with minimal compression. The site automatically resizes and compresses photos to ensure consisency. Photos should ideally be uploaded as JPEGs.
  8. Except in the case or rare or historical photos, excessively blury, dark, crooked etc. photos will not be accepted. Please edit your photos prior to uploading to ensure they are straight and appropriately coloured etc.
  9. There are no limits to how many photos you can add but try and be selective with what photos you choose to put up. For instance if you have two very similar photos from the same angle, choose the best and only upload it.

Terms & Conditions

The important legal stuff so you know where your photos are being submitted.

  1. By submitting to Parkz, you retain all intellectual property rights to the photo as their copyright holder.
  2. Upon submitting you agree to allow Parkz the right to publish and display your photos online and in official Parkz print material for an indefinite period. As well as appearing in our photo galleries, your photos may be used at any stage in articles on the Parkz website.
  3. With the exception of some randomised and thumbnail sections of the site, all instances of your photos will be accompanied by a line of credit.
  4. Parkz will not sell nor profit directly off your photos without your prior written consent.
  5. Except in rare circumstances the removal of photos from Parkz is not permitted as it disrupts the overall fabric of the site. Please be conscious of the photos you choose to upload as we won't remove photos because you change your mind.

Stolen Images

Parkz is a copyright conscious organisation and takes all matters of potential copyright infringement seriously.

If you see a photo on Parkz that you believe is your property used without consent please contact us. Be sure to include link/s to the photo and any supporting evidence you can provide (e.g. a link to the same photos on your website) to ensure a speedy resolution. We will contact the contributing photographer who posted the photos and if no satisfactory explanation is heard from them within 7 days we will remove the photos in question, provided the evidence is sufficient.

If you believe you have seen a photo belonging to Parkz or one of its contributing photographers used on another site without permission please contact us with the relevant details.
