Kanook, one of Polar Bear Shores' original bears was sadly put to rest on June 30 2004 after a lengthy battle with terminal kidney failure.
Ping Ping and Kanook were the original two polar bears. Ping Ping, the male, was born in 1996, Kanook, the female, in 1984.

Sea World Corkscrew replaced by new attraction

Sea World's iconic Corkscrew Rollercoaster has closed to make way for a new major attraction.
MyFun, the ticketing portal and online presence for Warner Village Theme Parks, have reported the iconic Corkscrew Rollercoaster will no longer be entertaining riders as it has for the past 27 years. In its place will be the exact same ride, with a colour change and a new train -- arguably the most exciting new attraction to hit the Gold Coast this summer!

Moving Downunder... plans emerge to relocate Coney Island's Astroland amusement park to the Gold Coast. The landmark Cyclone roller coaster will remain but be recreated for the proposed relocation.
