Kraken Racer

The Kraken Racer opened to the public on 12 December 2015.
Riders have a choice of four different coloured slides. The green and blue slides provide the most airtime. But the red and yellow provide a more out-of-control experience.
3, 2, 1....Go!
The twisted braided tunnel sections provide surprise airtime, even before the final drop, making it more enjoyable than most racing slides.
The ride starts off fast, and just keeps building speed... it doesn't let up!
The slide ends with a final drop, where riders burst out of the enclosed tubes and experience a nice pop of airtime.
This last downward hill provides you with even more speed.
Riders are brought to a gentle stop underneath the attraction sign.
Obligatory artsy shot.

A red shade canopy covers the switchback queue area.
Like all good racing slides, the Kraken Racer has a timing system. This one is unique in that it displays both your placement (1st ,2nd, etc.) and time taken to complete the slide.
Most of Funfields' ride signage have been updated this season. All safety guides follow this new modern layout and style.
The Kraken racer is a really fun and surprisingly thrilling slide for all ages. A really great addition to Funfields.

New Kid Zone rides

The Berry Ferris Wheel is a new kids ride for this season. A Ferris wheel manufactured by Zamperla.
The themeing is very cute. Perfect for small children and their parents.
Each gondola can accommodate either four children or one adult and two children.
Right next door is another new ride for the 2015/16 season; the Samba Balloon.
It's also the first ride you see as you enter the Kidzone.
The motion of the ride is very graceful and suitable for a kids ride.
Riders can spin the carriage as fast as they like; there are no brakes!
The spinning option has the ability to make this ride quite intense for those wanting more than a children's ride.

General park improvements

A giant new shelter has been built for the 2015/16 season to keep up with the ever growing summer crowds.
Funfields have moved the fence line of the park back. Revealing more lush grass area and shade for picnic goers.
The park used to end where the hedge is on the left of the picture.
Landscaping like this has popped up all over the park.
Funfields' mini golf has been given some much needed TLC for the 2015/16 season. A brand new 3D sign has been installed over the entrance.
Many new theming elements such as this shed and its surrounds have been installed.
... better not tell Disney.
The old waterfall has been given a really nice clean and paint job.
The golf green has all been replaced; looking great!
Blackbeard's Fury at the peak of its swing.
Sea World's old pirate ship ride continues to swing.
You'd never know the ride is more than 30 years old. It's looking as good as new.
