  2. Shade and decent fans > misters Steel Taipan nails it every time on an effing hot humid day without the need for misters
  3. I'm not sure your suggestion is workable, but they'd almost certainly make more money with some sort of dynamic pricing model. If the row isn't occupied 80% of the time the park is charging too much, there's no profit to be made on empty seats!
  4. I never have my phone on me in the ST queue, but if I choose to buy a spinning seat, having my wallet accessible in my smartwatch has always worked. Plus loose items aren't prohibited like superman and guests routinely carry their wallets and phones onto the station for DCR and ST. In the case of SE, if you're selling fast track, the greeter can always sell it at the gate prior to sending you to a locker, and just hand you a lanyard, token, wristband or other proof of purchase to use the FT queue if that's your concern.
  5. That would just create a ridiculous shit storm, and i'd hate to be the ride attendant telling someone hey i know the guy before you got these seats for $10 each, but you have to pay $20, unless you go back and wait for 9 more people to purchase. Way too convoluted
  6. Happy to have in app purchases, although if you prefer leaving your belongings in a locker, it may be annoying to have to carry your phone as proof of purchase. Equally the same with an eftpos machine in the queue having to bring your wallet. What if they had scalable pricing, so each time the train leaves with empty seats, it discounts by a dollar and when someone purchases, it resets back to full price $20 (or whatever the charge is now). They could cap the discount so once it reaches $10.00 it stays at that price until purchased. You could then take a risk waiting for the price to come down before purchasing and hope that someone else doesn't jump in before you.
  7. I don't believe that it should be online only: what happens if the app glitches out and nobody is able to get Fast Track/Backwards? Village and Coast wouldn't want that as no fast track purchases = no money. And what if there is a Optus outage for example and Optus costumers can't use internet, and therefore cannot buy fast track? I think there should always be a physical option incase something goes wrong.
  8. Just for anyone that wasn't aware, Dreamworld usually has this facility on Steel Taipan. (The reception for the device is terrible however, and takes ages to process.)
  9. It doesn't make a difference. Honestly, the demand for up-charge seating is so low even on busy days that they may as well scrap a booking system entirely and just have a wireless Eftpos terminal at the head of the queue line. If it's going to be in an app, then they should use it a little smarter - offer off-peak, mid-week discounted rides ($10-15) to annual pass holders to entice them into the park, even let them buy multiple rides for a lower price. If the ride is running with empty seats, better to get some money than no money. That would be the only reason to need a booking system - to get people into the park on quiet days and get guaranteed revenue out of them. F&B discounts (if you offer decent F&B) would also do the same thing.

  11. You can compare a camry and a lamborghini, but its still a stupid comparison... and then I saw who compared it.
  12. Relax son, it's just what adults call a comment...no need to wet yaself.....count to 3...well, try for 2 and you'll be fine! 😎
  13. (Assuming this is once current projects are completed) Would it be better for the Gold Coast parks’ next projects, whatever they may be, to allocate a larger amount of resources on enhanced ride systems & advanced/unique layouts, or on thematic elements & surrounding area beautification? Example being (under the assumption that the ‘next project’ were to be a coaster, though this’d apply to any major ride project): Would it be better for GC parks to get an off-the-shelf/lower end ride model (Storm, WoO coasters, Gold Coaster, etc.) and pay close attention to enhancing the theme/storyline, or would it be better for them to get a customised layout (Jet Rescue, DCR, Jungle Rush, etc.), and trade some beautification/theming for a possibly higher reliability guarantee and/or a novel on-ride technology (e.g. Drop track/fast switch track, Articulating trains, Tilt drop)?
  14. Yes indeed but its still going to be a different ride experience so you cant really compare them. If it was comparing Blue Fire to ST I would understand that.
  15. Just wanted to say how awesome it's looking so far! From DCR the land looks AMAZING so far. And the barn getting built for the racer looks better than the concept art. The shape is great
  16. The second yeah or nah poll. This time the controversial app only purchases of backwards seats and other extras at the village parks. Does this benefit the overall experience? Or is this a negative.
  17. The people have spoken. It is clear that overall they are a yeah. And benefit the experience. What other things should we make polls of?
  18. ^Two rides can have different top speeds but the same acceleration.
  19. Considering there both different rides they are going to be completely different. I don't know what you mean by making it less like ST it's going to be faster obviously to get them at the top so its a stupid to compare the 2.
  20. Last week
  21. As @aaronm stated above light rain seems to be OK, but heavy rain or lightning and they stop. I visited Happy Valley in Beijing in 2010 on a miserable day and the coaster operations were sporadic depending on how heavy the rain was. Additionally (Not sure if Happy Valley Guangzhou does the same) the coasters were on a rotating schedule, some opened with the park, others opened later in the day while the early opening ones closed.
  22. I can't answer your question, but I'd be interested to hear about your visit to Chimelong when you return. Was going to visit during my Hong Kong trip last year but had to skip it
  23. It's funnily enough also playing at the Roxy in Movie Park Germany
  24. If you’re referring to the wall of Tiger Island, it was damaged on the Christmas Day tornado
