    I didn't know that. Thanks.

Dreamworld passes - Cheaper at the park.

https://shop.dreamworld.com.au/Tickets/renew-annualpass-dec18 Renewal price is also available online, when it gets close to expiry you should receive an email. It actually has gone up (used to be $79).

That's the word on the street but neither Greg nor Ardent have made any announcements yet Aaaand just as I post that, Greg goes and changes his Instragram. I guess it’s official now

    Parques Reunidos takeover bid

It's odd how a company with such a large number of parks is worth so little.

    Beware of the Bawd Brothers

I have just seen the show for the first time while the train has been out of action. What an embarrassment! To give the actors their fair credit, they've really done their best to recreate the show as best they can at Central Station and without the train, but seriously! Apart from the very obvious fact that there was no train to rob, the show was interrupted 5 times by the horrible noise of the Tower of Terror (which it's right next to). A great show when the train is running but they'd be much better off just not doing the show when it's not!
  7. In light of all the recent disappointments at Dreamworld, I was seriously considering NOT renewing my pass this year. Even the current promotion of adults at kids prices and 13 months rather than 12 wasn't quite convincing me. I thought I'd drop into Dreamworld today for what might be my last visit for a while. While here I asked how much to renew my pass, and it's $89. That's a fair bit cheaperthan the $109 I would have paid online (for adults at kids prices), and it still includes the extra month and the photo pass. So that's myDreamworld pass sorted for the next 13 months. Who knows, maybe by the time this one expires they might have even opened SkyVoyager. One can dream! 😊

Wait, Greg has gone to Dreamworld? I knew he had left VRTP, but not where he had gone.

    2019 Construction at Outback Splash

After Outback Splash’s post yesterday, I was keen to get up to the park and check things out. @Tim Dasco also managed to meet us for lunch and go exploring. Luckily for us, they had their slide bits littered all over the place, in plain sight. It’d been awhile since Tim had been there and he really noticed how faded the original water playground is. The park was really quiet, despite the beautiful weather.

I think that’s a really positive sign if Greg Yong’s gone there. Surely, he’d be going there on the promise of having some capex to spend and would be keen to make his mark. Isn’t this what we’ve been saying all along - hire someone with theme park experience?

I am 100% with Skeeta on this one. DW keep making announcements and promises and dont deliver. Lazy River....where is it? SV last Xmas........still waiting, how embarrassing what a joke. and many other examples. DW have real problems and need real solutions sooner rather than later. ......... not just a night event every couple of months or a couple of bits of ice for a month.

I really doubt he's had ANY influence on anything really in 2 weeks! That's just enough time to introduce himself to the team and get to know a little bit about how the business is. Nowhere near enough to introduce a new night event or anything like that! Give him a fair chance though.

I mean you’ve had Greg now in there running the place for what? Two weeks?? And we already see a decent event announced. Given he was one of the major driving forces behind how much Fright Nights has grown, could this be the beginning of some solid night even offerings at Dreamworld?
  18. I think a wing coaster could be better than a flying coaster because it makes more of an immediate visual impression, whereas a flying coaster looks mostly like a suspended coaster. Probably too expensive as well, but something cool.

    2019 Construction at Outback Splash

This from Outback Splash, today. I did visit before the waterpark it closed at the end of the school holidays, but there wasn’t too much to see. They were building a trench for the new gate area. They also had lots of pipes and had some rebar in for the foundation of the slides.
  20. @JobeThe only thing I agreed on with @Slick's list was his number 1 and I don't care about the rest. Your No 1. was different but you ruled out Slick's No.1 without knowing what it was. You nominated a game changing ride for DW without knowing what you ruled out or if the ride you were replacing it with was a world-class thrill ride. I found that funny and why I did the-

Is it really a new found effort? I'm seeing the same old DW because everything I've seen so far DW has done before. Until Skeet sees something solid I will continue to be questioning DW's efforts. Promises and bottom shelf events. (besides Cosentino)😀
  22. Yeah not exactly what I stated and I did say that it was in my opinion and then gave reasons for that opinion. I have read a lot of reviews on the RMC Raptor and this has helped formulate said opinion ( hence the "by all accounts , a great ride" statement) As I havent seen anyone on these boards stating that they have ridden the two Raptor's in existence, Wonder Woman and Railblazer, I did think it a pertinent question to ask. Not 100% sure if Slick has ridden one either ( although I bet it may be likely- for context have you @Slick?) , but you certainly didn't question his choice of ride at being in his list. Just saying Mind you, if Dreamworld WERE to build an RMC Hybrid, then I , and most likely everyone on this board, would be suitably impressed. Either way , to reiterate my earlier point, it is a great and logical list.

Agreed. But this new found effort (or is it back peddling over the SkyVoyager issues) has only recently appeared. So my comment of 'overnight' is based on that sudden lack of inaction from the park.

First you need a cake to ice. Cosentino and abc kids month are the icing on the cake. But without a cake people watch Cosentino or the Wiggles and walk straight out the door afterwards.

    Dreamworld Winterfest

They need both a regular show that is equivalent to police Acadamy Stunt Show and free small monthly events like Cosentino, ice skating and abc kids month. C. Bigger events similar to frights nights

The Cosentino show was widely panned on here, but the General Public appeared to love it. They are making an effort and giving people a reason to (a) go back at all & (b) go back again. Something like a stunt show isn't going to happen overnight, whereas 'rent a rink' is easier (I assume) to organise.
