Hi everybody, I was recently in Movie World and felt Wild West Falls is now a little run down. The scenery and so forth could do with a facelift. Does anyone here agree? (Side note also disappointed with no smoke machine operating in the Scooby Doo roller coaster)

Upon further reading that info was already known! It would have been down to cost v benefit at that time. Spending the capital on the control system for a short term gain does not appear completely logical to do. Especially when the ride was closed 2 years thereafter.(they should of known the expected remaining life). In 2004 capex was being spent on the claw and visitor numbers expected to grow from that alone. Why bother upgrading the control system then? It could of been closed earlier. Therefore i suspect it was closed for structural or safety reasons. But the structural reasons should have been forseen. Both could be fixed if the benefit v cost stacks up. New management equals new assumptions... Www opened in 2006 but was planed capex wise years in advance..before 2003.....

The Mine Ride was one of the only rides as a kid I was too afraid to go on, which makes me even more grateful that I finally wanted to ride it in 2006 and rode it twice, it was in the afternoon so we had to leave. I loved it so much that it became one of my top rides and DW and wanted to ride it again the next time I went (I had a pass). Unfortunately the next time I was there, it was closed. I unknowingly rode it mere months before it closed (I think it was August/September) and I'm so happy I made the choice to experience it and I would love to see it return

Hi i am new to posting on this forum but i do have some information. In 2003 the ride and brake system was replaced. It did not close that far thereafter. Why go to the effort then and close shortly after that?

Is it just me or does that control panel look... A ) Brand New B ) Cleaned Up like new C ) Was always looking spotless like that... EDIT: At closer inspection it doesn't quite look BRAND new... there is some rust on it haha EDIT2: Sorry for the edits but also noticed something else... Were the yellow strips of paint on the steps in the ride always that...Yellow? Shouldn't they have faded since 2006?

Dreamworld's Eureka Mountain set for potential comeback After more than eight years sitting dormant, the Eureka Mountain Mine Ride roller coaster at Dreamworld is in the early stages of an unexpected return. In 2014 we saw the Ocean Parade section of the park and its flagship attraction Wipeout returned to their former glory. Yea those spark generators gave it the awesome touch it needs in the final lift. I can remember hearing about that fire. I think i might just be to picky i really have to go to a Disney world one day... hopefully by the end of 2013 i will I remember seeing somewhere that they made the drop steeper and also added a scream shield
