  1. I can definitely see a second compact coaster being added to LPS- there are numerous examples that would work. Think Zamperla, Maurer ,Gerslauter, S & S,- they all have coasters that would be a good fit for LPS. Ride noise is still monitored true but as long as a ride complies with the standard, then LPS is protected by legislation aganst such harassment and legal challenges. If the Wild Mouse can operate to the required level , then there is no reason that a new compact could not do the same. The only 2 spots that could really accommodate a new coaster is on the Tumblebug space or in Maloney's Corner. LPS has successfully run Pirate's Revenge Flume ride there a number of times and I see no impediment to them placing a new compact coaster in this area. A Gerslauter compact similar to Iron Shark/Krater or a spinner of some type would be the best that we could hope for in LPS, IMHO. One of these would be ideal!! ( Brad Loxley I hope you reading this!!!) As for their new rides- I think we are in for some surprises. There have been definite hints as to a dark ride based on something similar to Justice League, which would be an excellent addition to the park. Given that the first ride announced is a Flying Carousel , most probably from Zamperla,it could be that several more examples of Zamperla's catalogue could make an appearance. What flat rides do you see would make the best choice for LPS? Especially given we know the approximate budget? Personally I would love to see some sort of pendulum swing ride, and a Disko or Disko Coaster. I would also love for LPS ( or any Australian park for that matter) to get a Larson Flying Scooters ride- they have such an old world feel and charm, would fit in perfectly with LPS's aesthetic, plus its a unique ride for the Australian market Thoughts and discussion?

  2. So hubby & I observed a few signs of activity happening down at the Rocky Hollow Log Ride this afternoon. The water pumps had been evidently switched on, as the fountains in the reservoir were running for the first time in months. There was water in the station trough, (although the rest of the track was still dry). The maintenance window at the top of the drop shed was open, suggesting that maintenance has been taking place up there in the past few days (it was closed previously). Definitely some activity happening in there at the moment, and hopefully an early indication that they plan to reopen the ride soon. Fingers crossed ☺️?

  3. I thought Movie World held the licensing for Warner Brothers branding, yet Dreamworld are using an iconic Warner Brothers song in their new TV ad. Maybe this is Movie World getting their retribution!

  5. Constrictor and The Tornado have now been added to the maintenance list for wet n wild. And also worth noting, tickets for the wet n wild buggy are 40% on the discount websites (Groupon, Scoupon).

  7. Don't spread it or the media will broadcast your story, followed by more calls for the place to be shut down!

  8. I love the juxtaposition of the Buzzsaw photo used for the Herald Sun one - implies that they were stuck upside down. Disappointed that Nine News was on the scaremongering wagon after the nice piece they did for green lantern.

  9. *sigh*......it's basically major news. All over FB this morning. Why am I not surprised. Just as Dreamworld are starting to find their feet again.....another media attack hits them. I feel bad for dw and the team

  10. There is only one correct answer and that would-be mine. DW has lost its flagship family ride plus its little sister the Log Ride. These rides leave a big hole in DW line up. A smart man would say DW will replace the rides with a new family ride. I am not a smart man. This is where we will see DW’s true colours and finally find out if they DW are willing to spend any significant money in the park or is it going to be another MDMC or BS. If you don’t already know what DW is up against down the road, you need to get off the drugs. This area is DW prime land and DW needs to treat it that way. I’m going big here boys and girls and there will no room more anymore spin & spews. Craig you need to pick up the phone and call Rocky Mountain Constructions. (This is wishful thinking topic right?)

  11. i don't have any sort of cogent idea for the area, but to take on a couple of points mentioned above: I don't think sticking with a 'gold rush' theme is in anyone's best interests - the whole area has taken on a bit of a stigma since TRRR, and i feel like they need to take on a different direction. I don't think a 'mummy' themed ride is really fitting (especially since, you know, all the movies in that genre typically involve someone being brought back from the dead) DW have stated it is their intention to build a memorial, but will absolutely defer to the families wishes on that point, and if they do not wish to have the memorial in the park, or at all, it won't happen. I'm fairly certain we'll see some support from them to put it in though, but as for where - hard to say. it would be a little disappointing if someone had to pay admission to pay their respects.

  12. I stumbled across this video and thought it was worth a share. This is Super Turbo, one of the only operating Chance Turbo's in the world, and has just been refurbished by (I believe) TPA Shows. This unit is particularly special, as it can run forwards and backwards. Not sure if it's going to be travelling the show circuit or not, but it would be amazing to see. The video was posted on December 7.
