  8. Id like to see them continue the theming that they have shown on the top of the lift hill throughout more parts of the coaster. Similar maybe to what Bizarro SFNE has, I think Movie World are extremely capable of pulling off some decent theming in this style to create a storyline that stretches past the station and through the coaster.

  9. Plus 2nd row from back is still close enough to have essentially identical forces if you want a traditional airtime experience.

  12. So, I've spread this out into different parts to make it easier to understand (hopefully) So, as you can see, Batwing and Justice League are to the right of the image, because they are closer to superman escape. The shed that has "What is this" above it, seems to be a themed area, as it is not in the park already. In this screen shot, you can clearly see what seems to be a queue, and if you follow it under the track, it goes toward that lovely shed I mentioned before.

  13. Here is some aerial footage of the construction so far. You actually get a sense of the scale of it. Superman looks tiny in the background.

  14. Personally I love the DC Rivals name. I think it's very official, easy to remember and summarises the coaster's overall theme very well, especially since they have had to work with what they originally had organised (ie. Suicide Squad themed). Its a first class name for a first class coaster ๐Ÿ‘ And I definitely think they have made a great choice avoiding making it a "Bizarro" themed coaster. Thank God for that - sorry to those of you who were convinced that's what it would be, but really would have been a terribly obscure theme to run with ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜‘

  15. Yeah I agree, I think the topic should be reopened as well. And meh, if you watch my live video on my blog when I first saw the track colour in person, I did refer to it as fucshia. It was the colour ID website thingy that added the 'pink' bit (no pun intended) lol. So I still called it and I intend to gloat over at least getting that part right haha ๐Ÿ˜œ

  16. Very excited for those backwards seats, my only apprehension is now the back will probably be as desirable as the front If I'm reading the station plans correctly the back seats might have a dedicated queue line, hopefully not too much extra wait time. On that note... DOH! It was staring us in the face the whole time. At the time of posting I chuckled smugly thinking 'heh, someone drew the train backwards!' Little did I expect that would be one of the most important details in the station plans!

  17. There's always SeaVip....oh, ok, well then, why not Vikin....ah, umm, there's always the Pirate.....shit. Ok, how about taking a nice trip on the Sky Wa...... ok never mind.

  18. There are - you can see these at the end of the main preview video. 'Solid' is an understatement; I'd go with VRTP's 'gamechanging'.

  19. Looking into capacity of the ride. Confirmed ride time is approx 170 sec or 2.8 minutes (from movieworld FB page. Someone asked, MW responded). From the teaser video, you can see each train holds 22 passengers. So if 2 trains are running, and you are loading train #2 whilst train #1 is in motion, you have approx. 3 mins to unload/load train #2 before #1 gets back. If you run the ride perfectly (without stacking) you could be sending a train out every 3 minutes. Therefore, 60/3mins = 20, 20*22 passengers = 440pph.

  20. I dont. If you look at the station at the bottom, you will notice a lovely building right next to it.

  21. Looks like they've managed to sneak in a third bunny hill just before the break run. The shadow shows that the track dips down to the ground before the jump in to brakes. Nice collection of airtime hills to finish off the ride!

  22. Forgive me if this has already been answered/discussed, does anyone else think the backwards car will be an up charge? It's one thing to queue for the front when the rest of the train is facing forward anyway, but backwards is a totally different experience. At 2 pax a train queues would be enormous on even a moderate day. Regardless - really stunning layout. This will be Australia's first true airtime machine.

  24. but they did say 'not pink'... I think the admin team here have jumped the gun. Closing the speculation thread means we can't now discuss the previous speculation within the same thread.

  25. As I understand it its being done the same way as the GL sign. We've heard previously the GL sign is actually a custom screen, so it could be animated \ altered. Looking at the joker face - the mouth part itself is a solid piece - which suggests to me a clever dick in the design department might just have plans to make the mouth move... You started it by pointing out flaws on a website (which is also not an English class). Are you pot, or kettle? And no, it isn't English class. Usually by the time you get to a point where you can navigate the internet unsupervised, you'd expect to have graduated from English class.

  30. @jack.c the park has given us lots of hints but the exact ride is unknown and this stage. However I have done some hunting and found this. http://westforce.com.au/projects/our-current-projects/ They refer to mi3 as a roller coaster. However its safe to say this is a mistake as Mark has basically said it will be a flat ride as 7.5 million won't get you a coaster. But the most interesting thing was that it had a photo which shows construction progress. Hopefully we get more information soon.

  31. I've always thought those 'cardboard' cutout themes are just a bit lame, I mean, the only place you see it is at six flags. If the queue and station are well themed there'll be little reason to have much more. If it's a choice between having no theme at all past the station or having the half assed cutout theming, I'd take no theme. The difference between the quality theming at the station and the filler theming throughout the layout would be jarring. The Joker's face at the top should look really cool when lit up at night. Especially alongside the Green Lantern display. The Movie World skyline is going to be incredible. @Ryande16 on your screenshot: The GP really don't know how good this is going to be haha. @Rollercoaster_Lover Better than Fury 325? I'm not sure that's likely, but you're right, most enthusiasts overseas I've talked to look at this coaster as the best new coaster this year. If we thought Superman Escape was a World Class implementation in 2005, well we've got another thing coming here.

  35. Is it just me or is the track on the left just a recolouring of Superman? It's certainly not Mack track.

  37. I disagree. DC has the brand out there enough that GP away from comic know what it is. DC is promoted before all of their movies. You also make a really good point on being sponsored / presented by. I was wondering why they included the 2nd "DC" in the name of the coaster. As the image reads its "DC DC Rivals Hypercoaster"...

  38. This coaster's layout is stunning. Looks to have fantastic pacing and a great mixture of elements that ensure you get a good mix of speed, twistyness, g-forces, and of course airtime. No doubt this will be the best coaster in Aus. It's hard to create re-rideability on a coaster, as it essentially follows the same track everytime. Yes you can move around the train, to experience the different forces. But adding those backwards seats, just makes it even more re-rideable! Fantastic move by VRTPs! As for the name.....terrible. I don't understand VRTP's obsession with putting the word 'coaster' in the rollercoaster's name. e.g. Storm Coaster, Green Lantern Coaster, Jet Rescue Coaster, DC Rivals Hypercoaster. It's very unimaginative....why is it needed? Also, 80% of people will need to google "what is DC" after they are told (only) the name of the ride. If DC was involved, then perhaps they are sponsoring the ride? 'presented by DC comics'? Thus they wanted the DC name in the ride title?

  39. Should have made both trains half and half. so on one train - the rear faces backward, the front faces forward the other - the rear faces forward, the front faces backward (*bonus element - you get to see the reactions of people across from you) this fixes the 'what happens when they only run one train' argument too.

  40. And you can ride it...... Backwards..... wow can't wait does anyone remember the date for the opening of school villains?

  44. Enjoy all your favorite rides. Jet Rescue is closed, so who fancies a go on Storm or Battle boats at night in pyjamas? Hopefully the kids enjoy it and they raise money for whatever it is, but seems like a strange move, particularly this year.
