  4. LPS bashing aside , you cannot post 2 contradictory views like this without it being called out. These rides were OLD when they came to LPS in 1994 and the trio remaining are pushing close to 30+ years old. You can not have it both ways. Why would the UFO be in fine condition and yet it was decommissioned? If it was in the "fine" condition as you say, then why state that LPS has no idea when it comes to looking after their rides? The reason that UFO WAS decommissioned was that it required a part for maintenance and it was becoming too costly to keep the ride running on a 30+ year old ride. It happens and there are many examples of of our parks refreshing older rides because of this very reason. LPS have successfully run HUSS rides since 1994-23 years. That's a pretty successful record and I refute your claim that they do NOT know how to maintain them. 23 plus years operating them says otherwise anyhow. Again this is a pretty inflammatory and generalised comment to make. I am not refuting you may have encountered this BUT every time? I have had far different experiences from yours. On the whole, I have found their ride operations to be excellent and I would say that they mirror at least the better operations of any of our bigger parks. That might be subjective and I acknowledge that. However, I certainly refute the 2nd part of your claim. The team members I have encountered have been nothing short of fantastic. I have seen excellent interactions from them with the paying public and have seen first hand excellent customer service in this area. What you have stated is simply wrong when applied to LPS team as a whole. I am sure there are other Parkz members who have also had positive experiences at LPS. This may be the case and there is truth in it , as LPS HAVE listed the ride for sale. However, the Flying Saucer WAS never listed for sale nor offered for a listing. The reason for it was obviously that it was simply not viable to maintain as a whole working unit and why parts of it are now being utilsed for LPM's Enterprise. I get that you are a HUSS fan- your monologues on the now mostly defunct AAF site are more than enough proof of that . That's fantastic-I think HUSS rides are excellent and well engineered as well. However, try not to let this love muddy the waters when it comes to being biased, however. Just a piece of advice- try and avoid generalisations when it comes to making claims like the ones you have stated. I get they are your opinions and thats fine but do expect some push back at some point.

  5. No to IP stuff. Not everything needs to be a franchise. Below is a video of the sort of show SW should be doing - it's a mix of technologies. Not that I said the sort of show - they shouldn't do exactly this, it's included as a showcase for some of the things you can do. So for example Idon't think you need to have such a massive fountain install taking up the whole lake, but more modest barges floated in and parked close to the audience as well as one closer to the island could work rather well. Base it off various themes that Sea World has (So a segment on Pirates/castaways, a segment bringing a storm to life, a segment on Polar Bears, one on 'Monsters', one celebrating Dolphins etc.) with a big Finale tying it all back to Sea World. There are so many possibilities with the technology avalible. I think so long as you don't have a show with prolonged periods of nothing (as is surprisingly common with night shows) you could do something really special with that venue.

  10. Enjoyed read @Jobe I truly admire your passion for the smaller/"fun" Park arena.. On topic, who's not excited about a full sized Wave Swinger coming to LPS? Possibly my all time favourite Flat ride, the addition of the elevated (former U.F.O.) platform will no doubt offer some amazing views and extra thrills as Riders feel the forces beneath their seats as it dips high over the Crowd below. A PERFECT fit for LPS. It's delightfully good to see the direction of the "Classic Amusement Park" being fostered.

  11. With both Abyss and Kraken they revealed the ride type and stuff in the first today tonight video. Then in both cases in September they do a follow up story which revels the name, theme and so on. Hopefully they keep this format. I do expect to see Season Passes on sale within a few weeks. But different team different ways of doing things.

  12. Do you guys think we will be hearing anything about the theming or name of the ride on Monday night via Today Tonight? I personally don't think so due to passed experiences with AW's MI's, but things could have changed because we have already seen a difference in marketing for mi3 this year.

  14. Yes. Yes they did. Firstly, if the timeline for it to open in September is correct - then we're talking first promo with two months to go. Secondly, instead of teaser trailers, social media imagery, etc etc, they got a NEWS crew to come and film a piece on it. Hardly creative. Kraken was also due to open in September 2015. Around July, AW's facebook page was posting construction pics: Now, I've spent a few minutes trying to find the exact moment we had the teaser image for Kraken (the Kraken's Eye) but i've grown impatient. Needless to say - Mark was telling us teaser details back in March: On July 15th last year, Adventure World were already selling season passes: So yes, ball dropped. Maybe they've picked it up, but they've certainly lost ground.

  16. This model we be the largest of its kind in Australia. The new version Intamin gyro swings are much bigger then the claw.

  17. Not 100% sure, but I know it had extensive work done on the restraints, apparently HUSS made them in such a particular way, that attention to detail is a must, and it cost a pretty big amount to do the work. I wish they would just sell their HUSS rides to showmen in Australia that would actually care about them. The way that Ranger and Break Dance (I refuse to call it Spider) are operated is embarrassing to the HUSS name! LPS Honestly have no idea when it comes to looking after their rides, and HUSS rides are built to stand the test of time. Their operators are also terribly slow, and have no idea how to deal with the public. Come and work on the show circuit for a while and learn how to properly load a busy amusement ride.

  21. Went out there earlier today, airtime hill is coming together nicely. Also, as you'll see, the mystery of the missing beam has now been solved and what's in place has got a little chunk taken out of it. If you want to see more VSCO-ish artsy shots of construction, you know where to go.

  22. It's not in the Water Park. Stage 1 includes a Water Park and an open field that are near to each other. The Water Park is a small part of what Actventure Park is. The soccer field as you call it(Green Area) is a multipurpose area for things like sports and concerts. A lot of the buildings will be rented out. This one is for @pushbutton

  25. Having visited the park last Sunday, it's a shame to see the work that was done on the classic HUSS RANGER has in no way given the ride any sort of longevity. Apparently extensive work had to be done on the restraints, which has happened, but in doing that the two middle rows of the boat have had all of their restraints removed. When guests went to sit in those seats, the terribly slow and unqualified ride operator replied with "don't sit there, theyre broken" The ride was meant to go to a showman here in Australia, but LPS messed them around which is a shame. Would love to see it back on the showgrounds, at least it would get the proper care needed.

  26. I don't buy that at all Tim. For a park of it's size - every major investment should be touted from the rooftops. it is "MI-3". You know what the MI stands for right? Maximum Impact. Hell - when Dreamworld installed the Claw, they had one of their biggest marketing \ teaser campaigns i've ever seen.. So as you rightly point out - in previous times under previous leadership we had teasers and trailers and all sorts of marketing hype. This time around it seems we're going the way of VRTP and remaining mum until construction is well underway... oh look - there goes a ball rolling down the hill into a mud puddle.

  27. There was a mix of > Forgot I was doing this (told you it would happen) > Had other games to play > Have been busy > Have been lazy But I did make all of maybe 30 minutes progress on this the other day. Mainly just playing with the new custom billboards. This was because there's no better option. And again, I did say it was going not be 100% accurate. Also, it's taken me some time to get around to working on this park. (Also the fact I tend to leave the game running while I do other things for a while).
