  2. “Incredible at building temporary attractions!” Now that’s a slogan... So does that make them temporarily incredible?

  3. Why is it so hard to keep something as simple as a clock working?

  4. I've experienced this twice recently. First was about a month ago. Second today. Everything was pretty good until I was about 30 - 45 seconds before the end of the ride, and then the guns stopped working. Today, the large screens (where you're supposed to see 3d aliens coming out) also turned off. I was especially surprised today because I'm pretty sure Justice League was closed for maintenance very recently? Has anyone else here experienced this?

  5. I'm interested to know what type of "simulator rides" they're thinking of. Are we talking flying-theatre-like rides or little fairground boxes with a screen?

  6. The ideas seem real good and I applaud Dreamworld if they follow this plan, but at the same time, the park does need one more good Thrill Coaster, Cyclone is getting on in years, which just leaves one trick ponies. A nice wooden coaster to add to that mix would be fantastic. I'm dreaming though.

  7. I think we will definantly see some kind of new theme park on the gold coast (or at least somewhere in Australia) If I had to bet the next park will probably be a Legoland (Not songcheng though I just don't see that panning out and actually happening)

  8. Run Down from a segment just on 7 News with the CEO Craig Davidson: Log Ride Reopening For Christmas, Minor changes and improvements. More Simulator Based rides. More Custom rides and not "Pre Set", or in the words of Craig "Rides in a Box" More Rides for the entire family. Less focus on Thrills. Improving the park and not Drastically Expanding. More Immersive Attractions. Higher Quality Attractions.

  9. Keep in mind attractions come with a 30 year life average from manufactures. So DC Rivals might not even be around then

  10. You have your areas confused Push. The temporary attraction is going in by Kevil Hill and the kiddie wheel down by the river where Captn Sturt once docked.

  11. That’s a really good question! I think all of the parks (if we’re talking the main ones on the Gold Coast) will still be running rather different than what it is now. Judging from the timeline of many of the rides I doubt most of what we see today wont exist in 30 years time. Hopefully some of the roller coasters will still be around as updated versions. I do think rides like Arkham Asylum (Movie World) and Hot Wheels Sidewinder (Dreamworld) will be decommissioned as they will have been around for a while. It would be interesting to see if something like Disney Land did come to the Gold Coast not sure if it’ll happen though. Overall I think we will have various opinions about the parks and there will always be room for improvement.

  12. Think it is safe to say the cable will be hidden tomorrow

  13. Is it too much to ask that things like this are checked, and reconditioned if necessary before they're put out each year? It's a small pile of snow on top of a newspaper stand, by the way!

  14. Oh man! That looks so terrible! 😢 They’ll be forgiven if the upgrade is worthwhile.

  15. That’s a really good question Pushbutton. I was wondering the same while I was there. Perhaps they’ll have it working in the summer?

  17. There is a brand new Scooby-Doo CGI animated film in production right now. It originally had a 2018 release date, but WB pushed it back to May 15, 2020. It will be the first movie in the 'Hanna Barbera Cinematic Universe' which will include The Jetsons. As a film franchise, Scooby Doo is about to be refreshed and renewed by WB.

  18. Are you all talking about the castle que being dark? Reason for that is simple. Combination of being cheap and no one consulting on design. The que originally had 300w tungsten halogen lamps pointed at each window panel. The bounce of these produced ample ambient light for the space. These constantly required replacement so the minute the worlds cheapest LED replacement was available they 'started' to get changed out. Unfortunately the LEDs chosen were/are cheap and nasty, and set to an 'amber' they provide little bounce and thus you have the resulting dark que area. There are still a couple of the old lamps left because not ALL were replaced #budget. There's even a couple of EXTREMELY AWFUL home made modified lights up there that light a couple panels in a cool white, just gross. The whole space is one of my most hated places in the park lighting wise and it drives me nuts every time I see it. Badly needs a refit by a theatrical lighting designer... again something only Disney and Universal do, which is why their stuff looks 100x better than spaces lit by electricians.

  19. My current wet dream is to open a Disney or universal park, but that's unlikely in the near future.

  20. Speaking of ruined effects, this cable has been exposed like this for at least a week now. The effect is not working, but how hard would it be to at least hide the cable?

  21. The same thing happened to me on the ride yesterday. The audio was still existent where the Hero’s at the end when they congratulated you for the mission, the visual wasn’t.
