  2. I've been meaning to compliment Parkz since the earlier scoops from the DW CEO, but WELL DONE RICHARD AND TEAM! The professionalism of Parkz has no doubt led to these big bosses feeling comfortable sitting down and talking to you. The accuracy and insight of Parkz' journalism in relation to the theme park industry in this country far, far exceeds any mainstream media outlet, as we all know. And on this particular article, I am rather thrilled that Clark Kirby appears to be, from all indications so far, the CEO we were all hoping for for Village Roadshow Theme Parks. Everything he said was bang on the money. This is a guy that seems to know exactly what needs to be done. Let's hope he keeps up that momentum and sticks with the strategy!

  3. For the love of god why does the dino squirting poo not match the rest of the attractions . Besides that, it's better than nothing. I have a feeling this attraction is a knee jerk reaction to Vikings closing down "Crap, everybody is complaining we shut down Viking's Revenge but we spent all our money on Rivals to do anything seriously about it". It’s not up to the standard of anything else in the park.

  4. Despite the 'price conditioning' of the past decade, I, and many other people I know (not all of which are enthusiasts) always felt that the VIP\Q150 pricing model was far too low, and ought to have been priced higher from the start, given the inclusions. Originally the Q150 was 'just an entry' and as it progressed, the VIP started having other benefits - night entries and so on, without much movement on the price. Those who expected to pay higher for what they were buying will stick around, satisfied the park has now priced itself more appropriately. Those who focus entirely on the bottom dollar and not at what they get for that price (hint: they're the kind of folks who leave comments on social media saying things like "we paid $400 for a family of four and...") are probably more pain than what they're worth. The percentage they lose because the price was reasonably increased will be offset by the reasonable increased price paid by those who see the good value in the product on offer.

  5. I bet there’s plenty of family members who were happy to go on Viking’s Revenge but won’t have a bar of Storm. A non-coaster please.

  6. Thanks for the scoop Team Parkz😃 How refreshing to hear such passion coming from VTP's new Top Dog... BRAVO! Kirby is leading a Team of Rock Star Managers that are not afraid to shake things up by connecting with their People (employees) and Customers alike to make a real difference. And whatdoyaknow.. it actually works!!! This has got to be the most exciting time for Village Parks Employees in a very long time! Hopefully the guys down in Coomera pay attention.

  7. Nah mate. The way me and the misses look at wet'n'wild lockers' $10 bucks to keep $2000+ in phones, wallet/purse's and car key's locked up for a hole day we see is pretty good value.

  8. I get that at $200 a pop, a large family is going to find it tough to stump up $1000+ upfront, but in saying that, that’s assuming they are not locals, and are obviously holidaying on the GC more than once a year (or else why buy an annual when shorter terms are available), so I guess if you can afford to holiday interstate 2-3 times a year, you need to factor your entertainment requirements into your holiday budgets.

  9. I feel like we have enough coasters in the park, a new dark ride or motion simulator would be nice.

  10. Heres a nearmap image set spanning 2011-2017. This set shows the pipes in position over that time. In the bottom (larger) photo, which I included for those interested in looking at some of the pipework in the pool, you can see the shadow of those pipes cast over the shark bay buildings in the bottom of the picture. I also managed to find the pipes visible in a 2004 Shark Bay image from Parkz. Shark Bay was opened in April 2004 - ...and interestingly - this photo shows the tower during Shark Bay construction without the pipes - so it would seem that as some have suggested it is directly related to the shark bay construction! ...and here's another angle: and another:

  12. Again another great improvement, this ad looks great and makes you excited about the parks. I can see people’s faces on the rides, but the scale of the rides, just how big DC Rivals is and love the tag of saying the best roller coaster.

  13. Just a little Tid-bit of info that’s not really news as such... currently at the Studio Village Xmas Carols that are run in the MW overflow Carpark/grassed area, and have been held here for near on 2 decades. They just announced that this is the final year the Carols will be located here, as next year MW is expanding and the space will no longer be available. I believe this is the site earmarked for the hotel, so whether that’s going ahead or it’s a case of the Carpark expanding and this area being asphalted I’m not sure.

  14. They come out later now. There's also a point around 5 or something that they come out in their PJ's too.

  15. Went on Justice League today. So so soooooo happy that I can say it was at 90-95% working perfectly! The only parts not working that I could see was a couple of targets not flashing on & off + no vibration. Other than that It was great! Not sure if Movie World reads these forums to see problems that may be occurring in the park but I just want to say a huge well done for getting on top of that! It was the first time in a long time that I didn't think to myself "I wanna get off this ride" halfway through

  16. Just spotted these guys roaming throughout the park (they're near Doomsday right now), playing classic jazz! And now Main Street A few additions to the parade

  18. I have said it before and will say it agian. Don't move into a house near a theme park and complain about lights and noise. Unless they have been there since before the park was built they have no reason to complain.

  19. Ahh ok, that's a bit disappointing, sounds like the volcano won't erupt. I'm guessing it was just installed to hide the 'Shark Bay' pipes from view then?
