  1. If anyone's interested, I have just posted a POV video on You Tube of Abyss at Adventure World with the maintenance lights on in 2013 just after it opened. https://youtu.be/0LrmircPc2E The Video is not the best quality while on ride at speed outside, as it was shot on a small handheld compact camera (Sony HX-30V). It was taken after the park had closed and it does show pretty well what is inside the building which is normally in pitch black when the ride is open. Pete.

  5. Junior Driving School could go anywhere, it could go in Superman's heilex, it could replace Taz Speedy Sam Train and Tweety's in one swoop. Maintenance storage could go anywhere. The objection is the waste of a show building which cost millions to build and isn't something Village have shown a willingness to build for a long time. I don't mind the ride, it's fine as is for now, but if MW were my park it wouldn't survive the next kids area overhaul as it stands.

  6. Here's my suggestion: empty out the other side of the show building. Find storage for your floats, christmas tree and other maintenance crap elsewhere. Plenty of land on property to stick up a new Titan Shed (or find a small soundstage that doesn't get used much and use that for a while. install a load bearing mezzanine. Install a multi-level tracked (or trackless) vehicle system. Utilise physical sets and 3d\4d animation for a looney-tunes styled attraction (think Justice League \ Toy Story Midway Mania). One could even run the storyline similar to the previous LTRR (but without the water) about bugs escaping and tunneling through to Australia - a good tip of the hat to the former attraction whilst giving it a new take \ angle. While i realise JL is in the park, and is very similar, this would be suitable for all ages, but aimed more at kids. the multi-level gives another aspect. If they give it a similar effort to Doomsday or Rivals, which seems to be their new standard, then they should pull it off and it would be a great addition to the park.

  10. Thing is, many of what we would see as 'chinese' food wouldn't be regarded as chinese food by Chinese people - for example - Chow Mein, or Mini Spring Rolls, although derived from Chinese food have little resemblance to the traditional chinese dish from which it originated... Shit wait - did you have it at Alton Towers? Thanks for the backseat moderation. It was so desperately needed in the absence of a mod - especially since a mod hasn't visited this thread in ages.

  11. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. Sorry... give me a minute. Ok, i'm good... now.... You want to feed Asian tourists our Australian version of "asian food" ? The idea is laughable at best. Just like when I went to the USA and the locals suggested I just MUST go to Outback Steakhouse for a 'taste of home'. Ridiculous. (to be clear, i'm not lampooning the idea of asian flavours in the parks, just the concept that it would draw asian tourists... and as for a noodle bar....?) Theme Parks are about rides, shows, attractions. Restaurant dining, whilst certainly having it's place (take a disney look) aren't the primary reason most people go to most parks. Take dreamworld's parkway or whatever - and how practically dead it is. Nobody goes there just for the food. Our parks sell a lot of hot dogs. burgers. fries. Why? They're quick to eat, only require your hands to eat it, don't make much of a mess, and easy to dispose of. A noodle bar? Seriously? Not exactly something you can walk and eat, is it? Are you suggesting serve it on a plate? ie: you HAVE to sit down to eat? Or In one of those paper box things? Should they supply chopsticks to be authentic? Or some of that biodegradable wooden cutlery shit that doesn't work? With the exception of a premium product (most asian tourists won't buy in to that) it isn't going to work - to do it properly, you need a sit-down service restaurant, in a park where space is at a premium - you're not going to give ground to a concept like that. You need quick service food that is quality, and able to be eaten on the go without the need for cutlery, or a table and chairs. Sushi works because most Nori rolls are easily eaten on the go. I would like to see the parks move away from these ridiculous footlong hotdog types and bring in a more traditional BBQ Sausage on a roll. very similar food, but more 'Aussie' style.
