  1. What do Dreamworld's 3 biggest roller coasters all have in common? None of them have reopening dates anymore!!!! Happy school holidays kids!

  2. They are probably getting pretty sick of having to push back Tower of Terror, it has been pushed back 6 times now. Its really disappointing that 4 large attractions (when you include Hydrocoaster) are having EXTENDED maintenance done during the school holidays. That is taking things a bit far. Its unlikely that we will be seeing Tower opening anytime soon as the attraction hasnt even had testing occur yet. Normally they spend days on end testing that particular ride prior to an opening. In saying that though, it is certainly better for them to close the rides, replace essential components and have them operating in a reliable manner rather than using band aid fixes and then facing constant breakdowns later on simply leading to even more maintenance periods. Make sure they are working 100% before opening. I get a bit sick of rides from DW opening after ridiculously long periods of maintenance only to close again a few days later (like we saw with The Claw in May) Problem is, these rides that us Parkz members complain to be crappy, unreliable attractions (like TOT) have been forced that way by Dreamworld and similar models dont have near as many issues. DW: take a deap breath, buy the parts you need and spend money on the REAL maintenance that your attractions need, and take your time if thats what is necessary to ensure a positive, long-term reopening of an attraction. (Although to be honest, I have a hunch that current long term maintenance which is occuring likely has understaffing to blame for the push backs).

  7. LOL. absolutely. If you're unsure what i'm "babbling" about - perhaps some remedial English lessons might assist you? I must admit though - that makes all of us now - since none of us know what you're babbling on about most of the time... I still have no idea what you were on about here. We've pointed out your there\their\they're before - I guess you can't help some people... Seems like it gets worse for you by the minute... ...and so on. That's probably for the best old mate.

Dreamworld's i-Ride: Ardent Leisure registers 'SkyRyder' trademark Following an abortive attempt to register the name Flyover, Dreamworld owners borrow the name of an American pornographic film star for the latest apparent move in naming their forthcoming flight simulator attraction. 9. Yeah, there's not a lot of dressing that up - it's like Dreamworld has learned nothing in the last few years.

  11. You think so? They're sitting on about 39 acres \ 16 hectares. 7.5 acres \ 3 hectares of land is up behind the wavepool \ gravity wave \ kraken \ alpine slide. That's almost 20% of their land. (In comparison, the wavepool, which is one of the largest single attractions water parks will build, takes up about 1.6 acres \ 0.6ha) Then, when you move on to look at the rest of the park... The alpine slide takes up about 4.5acres \ 1.8ha. Its a huge tract of land, that actually occupies very little of it. Alpine slides are awesome fun, but their capacity sucks. Maybe they can build things around it? There's plenty of opportunity to install waterslide supports, or other 'overhead' attractions, but otherwise, its a huge part of the park that could really be used in many more interesting ways. Right inside the front entrance - theres a huge open grassed area, and a lot of picnic shelters (i assume) which is ripe for the next step up into proper park status (i remember when Jamberoo had a lot of these too). The park's maintenance and back of house area, along with the 'non-overflow-parking' area at the front also measures about 4.5 acres. This area could be redesigned to provide access to back of house, maintenance etc, whilst utilising space closest to the park boundaries for in-park accessible area. When you consider that between the Alpine Slide, the front unused \ maintenance area, and the as yet undeveloped land behind the wavepool amounts to almost 45% of their total land available within the block, i'd say they're nowhere near to running out of room - they just need to be smart about how the use what they have.... (and all this is without even touching the 3.5 acre carpark and overflow carpark - plenty of options to deal with that too) Of course - with all the undeveloped land behind them - who knows what the future holds for them.... so I think your statement is a little alarmist @Boyden Hingston-Muir - and that's coming from someone who has never even looked at the park's space before yesterday.

  12. I'm thinking in the better interest of crowd flow - something that has always been an issue at MW. The entry to the Ricks Courtyard is a Staff door and not suitable for deliveries etc. Having larger gate access further north east of the lane way would certainly be more beneficial for Park deliveries outside hours and day access for Batmobiles etc. Obviously this ain't gunna happen anytime soon but maybe if oneday after the kid's area gets a facelift.. Same goes obviously for the Alley space through to Arkham. Gotham city was on an Island for years and it wasn't a problem for deliveries etc.

  14. Not confusing for me at all. Perhaps if you find it confusing, or you think my analogies incorrect, maybe that's where the issue lies... I just checked my fridge - it said you were wrong. Three inches never impressed anybody mate.

  18. Yeah, Paragraphs. Because - you know, I like illustrating my point in enough detail so that it can be understood by most. I haven't figured out how to film shit in portrait mode whilst having a seizure yet, so I guess you'll just have to deal with paragraphs that have thought, structure and correct usage of the words there, their, and they're.

  19. Volcano Bay Beach opening in December. Fingers crossed the budget holds out and we see the Volcano rockwork 'waterfall' come to fruition. Also some nice lush landscaping and private cabanas would be nice.

  27. Here's some clues on what I think needs to happen to the kid’s area. Before I get hate mail a good portion of the kids will be removed before we blow it up. The area is so old parents are taking their kids on rides they rode when they were kids. Problem is things that were cool 27 years ago now remind you of grandma’s house.
