  1. As far as I know yes.... Not sure if they'll make any modifications to make it look like more of a permanent attraction, but KMG Don't really do highly themed park attractions, so it's always going to look like a transportable model parked for an event or show.

  2. This looks like an incredible new show. Ive never seen a AOS show before, but I really do want to see this one

  3. Maybe they just don't have the money to throw into a big new attraction, remember DC Rivals is still relatively new, and was a HUGE investment.... I think SeaWorld needs ANYTHING to get people through the gates.... it's really just a glorified aquarium these days

  4. Because if bringing in a carnival ride is one way to test out the audience reaction, then why aren’t all the parks doing it? Sorry that doesn’t fly. The parks spend a lot of money into researching their target markets and what would fit said markets, they aren’t going to hire a carnival ride to “test the market”, it’s purely a stop gap measure because they know the park is fucked. It’s disappointing really that it has come to this.

  5. Here's hoping Ardent are told they are not allowed to own a Theme Park.

  6. They've certainly kicked things up a notch (or 5) this time around -the show looks like it's going to be an absolute smash and I have no doubt Village are beyond satisfied with pre-show Ticket sales thus far. I reckon this show will be hanging around for quite a while.

  7. You've really been missing out, but yes you should definitely go see Heartland! By the way, if you're an RACQ member and you book by Googling "RACQ Australian Outback Spectacular", adult tickets are $108 most days!

  8. So Pitt and Sherry are now working for MW too? Adding excess restrains to rides that have existed for years that don't match the restrains on any similar models?

  9. What's the source stating that the future wildlife experience is being combined with the Whitewater World extension and that an amphitheatre is being built in the former Town Of Gold Rush area? I didn't see that information when reading Ardent's AGM documents a few days ago so I'm a bit confused. As far as I know, since the dark ride is now seemingly cancelled, either Dreamworld Corroboree is getting an expansion (again) instead or they are relocating Dreamworld Corroboree to the former Town Of Gold Rush site, given that was the rumoured location of the now seemingly cancelled dark ride. If it is a relocation, I find it odd given they've been expanding the area in recent years particularly after the Thunder River Rapids incident. All that work just to relocate or even rebuilt it??? By the way, the 3 parks mentioned in the article as having lazy rivers, one is mentioned as Sea World's former Adventure Island & Ferry. I believe you meant Adventure Park? Remember, the Dreamworld Express originally opened with just 2 stations - Central Park & Rocky Hollow. Except for viability reasons, the only worthy reason of getting rid of Dreamworld Express then is if Rocky Hollow Log Ride and The Giant Drop closed. It wasn't until Koala Country opened in 1987 that they built the Dreamworld Corroboree station. In the 5 or so years prior to then, the purpose of the long trip around to/from Rocky Hollow was either for just a relaxing journey through a bush environment or if to Rocky Hollow, for Dreamworld Express's bushranger show. Maybe the recent Beware Of The Bawd Brothers show was so successful, they are planning a bigger version in the place of Dreamworld Corroboree if they relocate it? However, since Ardent is the owner of DW, I doubt that. In the end, travelling through a great landscaped area to/from Rocky Hollow would be enough to say it is worthy of keeping it if it is still viable.

  10. Aging Huss Rides.... Isn't it funny to see though, that rides like the Ranger came here in 1988, and is STILL operating! That is a true testament to HUSS for creating such incredible machines. To see that many of their rides are over 30 years old and are still operating, some looking like they've just come out of the factory is a great thing to see! If LPS is to sell the 3 HUSS rides, i'd hope they'd go to travelling showmen who will look after them and give them the love they really need. Fingers crossed the Ranger at least stays in the country!

  14. Asked Bikash today why they opted for a travelling/temporary version vs a permanent installation, and his response (paraphrasing) was that if it is received well it may lead to a permanent version “bigger than anything you’ve seen before”

  15. Many years ago I asked the "oracle" of Dreamworld his thoughts on B&M coasters. Bob's reply was that they wouldn't build one because their capacity is too high for Dreamworld's needs. He pointed out that B&Ms have four across seating, but Dreamworld really only needs two across. I guess what you can take from that is that his basic arithmetic skills and industry insight seems to be about as good as his memory...

  16. It is indeed the travelling Rebel that will be going into the park. Not sure when but Gumbuya have bought it.

  17. Ha you are right. However , a ride of this scale means a great deal more for a small park like Gumbuya World than it does for an established and much older park like Seaworld. The irony is that if the Skyflyer was announced for Gumbuya World , then we would probably all be praising its installation. Seaworld has the capacity and has done in the past to do so much better. Its an understandable reaction I guess.

  18. If anyone is interested, I also have way too many videos of the demo/earthworks going on too. Also, the pile of dirt in front of Buzzsaw is the dirt being ferried in from WWW, it was about triple that size by the end of the day @Skeeta Yes, the dirt is being piled on top of the old station turntable area (as I've had a few people asking) Note: My reply didn't include every photo that was posted because I forums etiquette goodly

  20. Am I the only one noticing that Village seems to have forgotten they have another park at the Oxenford precinct? Constrictor - installed 2012, and WetNWild Junior - installed 2014 were their last major investments in WNW GC. Meanwhile they continue to silently erase rides from people's memories or keep them closed, without replacement.

  21. Reads, we're broke, and we are hoping you don't notice we went with the cheap and nasty options. Village are like a monkey who won’t let go of the banana to get it’s hand out. Over an over and over I say, thousands and thousands of people on the coast at Christmas willing and wanting to spend money and MW shuts the gate at six.
