  1. What i'm waiting for is the posts about Surfrider moving to SW when it goes down for its annual maintenance.

  2. Just came across this video, about what was behind Wonderland closing (although everyone in this group probably knows it was because of Sunways mismanagement and blaming everyone but themselves for the closure). It also mentions a proposed new park opening in 2022 at https://odysseyparksandresorts.com/2017/11/07/worlds-of-wonder-sydney-in-iaapas-funworld/, which we've probably all heard of before, but this time with an opening date of 2022. Although that was two years ago so who knows what their plans are now.

  3. Every year Storm has maintenance in Feb, and every year we point out how goddam stupid that is and suggest that they really should move it, and every year nothing gets done. It's kind of like a yearly ritual.

  4. Thanks for the Shoutout, we definitely thought the thumbnail for Defunctland's video looked very similar to ours Such a shame to see the history of such a great local theme park for me to end up as just another industrial estate. If ran correctly Wonderland Sydney could have very well still been open and expanding today, but with Sunway's greed for a quick buck what little is left of the park is left slowly rotting away in a field forgotten by time and the people of Sydney.

  7. Might be wrong, but I thought that it was originally 12 months, but then got extended to 18 months.

  8. So a few points from to recent visits: AW Nights Saturday Night: Was very popular compared to last week. With a massive queue at the front of the park before the event had opened. The Goliath, Kraken queues both filled and over flowed and Abyss went down to the bottom queue race. The food trucks and band had been moved closer to the main lawn making the area feel more lively. On my recent visit yesterday the park was fairly busy for a Monday and it was good to see Rampage running lots of full cycles. (Not happy being forced to go on it 3 times in a row tho. ) Its good to also see a new misting system up in the Kraken Queue line which does help keep people cool.
