  1. At White Water World today, heaps of work happening on the Temple of Huey. The stairs are all getting repainted, as well as what looks to be like filters/motors. Also looks like the top of the Screaming Right Handers has begun repainting (as seen in the picture). The end of each of the slides has also gotten a lick of paint. Looks nice!

  2. For safety reasons, several water park operators paint pools in a sandy colour because it creates an immediate mental association that sand = shallows. Shallow blue painted pools can result in serious accidental dive injuries because it makes water appear deeper than it is.

  3. Plans for construction of $500 million hotel next to Dreamworld move forward The development of $500 million three-tower hotel development next to Dreamworld is a step closer after a revamped development application was submitted to the council. Plans for a $500 million three-tower hotel development next to Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld are moving ahead following the submission of a revamped development application to the City of Gold Coast Council. If approved by council, developer Gordon Corp plans to begin construction of the 10-storey first tower in 2020. Features of the hotel include 400 square metre ballroom, 130-seat all-day dining area and 40-seat pool bar and a “lagoon-style” swimming pool with two spas. A report to council stated that the architect determined it was not possible to fit a minimum of 300 resort hotel suites within the 10-storey building height limit whist also providing all the ancillary facilities. It is fully understood that council would not entertain additional building height for the site and it is understood this is required to be a resort hotel providing a high-level of tourist facilities,” the report said. “The 300 resort hotel suites was a number generated by council during negotiations to settle the appeal. “This reduction (of room numbers) allows the future project team to move forward with (an application) for all three stages.” https://www.thehotelconversation.com.au/news/2019/11/26/plans-construction-500-million-hotel-next-dreamworld-move-forward/1574723523

  7. On Australia Day, the Gold Coast Spit is alcohol free. So they setup a roadblock just north of the Sea World entrance. Its in place from 6am to 730pm as they check every car as it enters. They also set up an RBT out the front of Main Beach Water Police. Estimated times is between 1hr and 2hrs depending on the time of the day to travel from main beach to the roadblock. There is also 15000 people at Broadwater Parklands for the Australia Day Celebrations and every boat ramp is full. Its a down day for all the traders along this stretch as most people tend to stay away unless going into the spit. Last year the overflow car park had about 20 cars in it all day. The Spit is closed but does not stop people going up, as per previous years! Its a shit fight and they are expecting it to be worst this year as the public holiday is on the day after.

  9. Disney's California Adventure in 2007... Probably not the best introduction to overseas parks but we only had a day at the resort and we were told to knock the DCA rides first and spend the rest of the day and night at Disneyland

  10. This is definitely a great marketing campaign. It showscases everything great the park has to offer and everything to come. It is such a versatile park with so many different offerings and this one video captures it all. There is so much going on right now and I can’t wait to see what it’s like by the end of next year.
