I don't mind the idea of a power splash, but it doesn't fill the same void in the park as Rocky Hollow or TRR. A log rideis a genuine family ride, a power splash is a ride that isn't thrilling enough for most thrillseekers, and is really at the high end for what you could reasonanly call a family ride. So if you wanted to do a power splash, fine, but it's not really something that works as a log ride replacement, and there's about 5 other things DW needs first before a power splash. That power loop looks like such a confused concept, because by adding an inversion you've taken out the family element all together, and you now have a ride that is borderline not that thrilling, that families won't ride, that you also get wet on. In the right park maybe it'd work, but it's a very firm no from me.

It is likely there will be different contractors for the coaster construction vs the removal of the TOT. It unfortunately isn’t that simple. They will likely remove the horizontal track during MDMC maintenance and then the vertical track during GD maintenance

Losing a family friendly ride suitable for ages 3+ for a high thrill attraction for teens + would be a backwards step imo...

The real fun will be riding GD post TOT track removal. It wont have a giant anchor on one side any more and you'll get that fun 400ft tower sway. As for the actual removal, as Tim said, it will just be unbolted and lowered to the ground. I'm also pretty sure that it's already been stated a few times but the track removal would most likely be done during the new coaster construction. They will bring in a couple large cranes to shift track/support pieces around and also remove the track from the tower. It would just be financially ridiculous to not dual utilise the cranes and downtime of that whole section of the park. Once the holidays are over (in the next week or two) we'll probably see a massive ramp up of activity around the coaster site as earthworks begin and footers/footings/footerings begin to be formed. Which means shipping containers from Mack hopefully shouldn't be too far away either. Once those start arriving on site, that's when I would expect work to be starting/have started on the TOT track.

100% needs a Chute the Chutes ride to anchor ocean parade. Have even done the numbers and one could fit into existing area footprint without losing much at all

Once TOT2 station and track is removed, it will allow a smooth transition between ABC World & Dreamworks so I would expect we’ll get 1 or 2 kiddie/family flats in this space. I would also love to see a modern replacement for the Log Ride, or at least a major refurb with new theming i think further attractions will depend on the outcome of the mooted land sales/property development

If one was to look at the tower it’s recently been completely X-Rayed and inspected, you can tell by all the blue marks all over the tower. With regards to the track it’s most likely just gonna be unbolted from the tower itself leaving the mounts along the side of the tower.

Cool idea. Would love for Mack to do it though. A custom compact Super Splash model with an elevator lift, and head chopper airtime hill before the splashdown. Similar to this model at Plopsaland De Panne: For some reason this supersplash model is not listed on rcdb.... but the more generic 'Atlantica' supersplash model is https://rcdb.com/2928.htm).

I know this may be a generic answer, but I feel the next thrill ride needs to be BIG. The Tower of Terror is IMO the biggest attraction and draw card Australian theme parks have ever had. On this, it’s great to invest in gap fillers and small draw cards but I think to really bounce back, a BIG ride is needed, something that truely is ground breaking. An Intimidator 305 or something similar would be my pick. Big cost associated with it but considering the cost of the blue fire clone, it’s really not too far off that price point. This would really give Dreamworld’s skyline a WOW factor and be an attraction that would genuinely draw locals and tourists back to Dreamworld. It’d also make Dreamworld the thrill capital of Australia again. The big thrills worked well for Dreamworld in the past, so I think that’s what I want to see moving forward.

A powersplash when Rocky Hollow is inevitably removed (or its bigger brother with a loop presented as a concept by Mack just recently)?

Is it so much for us to ask our parks to repaint over NDT areas after they are completed so our rides don’t have these splotches all over them?

Went to Outback Splash, yesterday. They had lots of flags up for Australia Day. Talked to one of the lovely staff there and she confirmed that she had previously worked at Adventure World. A good sized crowd turned up as temperatures were in the mid 30s. Lots of people brought their own food and tents. The park had a DJ and some games organised for Australia Day. There was plenty of shade for people waiting for slides. The dry part of the park was pretty quiet. The car park has been extended and was packed. They had lots of staff on to handle the crowds.

I would not be surprised at all if the vertical track is not removed. Excuse my potential ignorance, but I would imagine doing so would require re-certification of GD given that any significant work on the tower would need to be inspected, approved for GD to operate due to potential structural engineering implications. would be much simpler for them to remove the horizontal track without touching the tower.

Depends on height to. My 2yo measured in at 92cm so ment SeaWorld had a couple better kiddie rides which he loved plus add in the dolphin show, stunt show and there’s a kiddie water park area no slides but climbing stuff, fountains and small wadding pools he loves SeaWorld, dreamworld definitely has more for kiddies but nothing to exciting for them to ride. I found www used to be better for kids but with wnw kids slides now to me this is far better but sometimes they alternate between kid slides but mine doesn’t seem to be bothered, mw if their under 90cm then there is stuff all to do and hsd is noisy and he got scared last time we went in. paradise country is nice but small and really not much to offer on its own. Dreamworld has all their animals plus more
