Ticket yield up 6% due to price increases. 2019 Fright Nights set record ticket sales and in-park spend. Attendance up 7% at Sea World (how on earth...). The Vortex is scheduled to open in March. 3. Ok @TheChad it's time to come down from that horse... it seems a little too high for you. You're a little new here, and even if you've been lurking a while, you should try to bear in mind that this site has existed in one shape or another for 16 years, and many of the folks around here have been here that long, or almost that long. So before you start shooting your mouth - its fine to have an opinion, but do consider the responses you're getting to that opinion, and who its coming from. This site has members who are FAR. MORE. INTIMATELY. INVOLVED. IN. PARK. MAINTENANCE. than you. Seasonal parks can get loads of maintenance done in their off season Seasonal parks in Australia also do, but still have downtime during their operating season when something unforeseen occurs Comparing a little park like Movie World with Disney is like comparing a Datsun 120Y with a Ferrari. One costs a lot more and is worth a lot more Disney can employ many more people to get jobs done quicker, and do more regular maintenance overnight. Park attendances aren't even in the same league. While you're holding Disney up as the pinnacle of speedy maintenance, bear in mind their current schedule has Snow White, Haunted Mansion and King Arthur's Carousel closed with no firm opening date, with Snow White down since January 7th (43 days ago) and the other two since January 21 (29 days ago). Disney doesn't publish their entire annual calendar a year in advance like Movie World does either, with their current maintenance schedule only visible on a day-by-day basis up until April 2nd... and guess what? those three rides are still showing as down for maintenance (which for Snow White, will be 86 days downtime). For those following along at home - Disney aren't doing it well if their ride needs THREE months of maintenance! https://www.disneytouristblog.com/disneyland-refurbishment-calendar/

  9. Thanks @Jamberoo Fan for those who can't be bothered to click the link, below are the details: • The findings required by s.45 (2) of the Coroners Act 2003; namely the identity of the deceased person, when, where and how they died and what caused the death. • The circumstances and cause of the fatal incident on the Thunder River Rapids Ride at the Dreamworld Theme Park, which occurred on 25th October 2016. • Examination of the Thunder River Rapids Ride at the Dreamworld Theme Park, including but not limited to, the construction, maintenance, safety measures, staffing, history and modifications. • Examination of the sufficiency of the training provided to staff in operating the Thunder River Rapids Ride. • Consideration of the regulatory environment and applicable standards by which Amusement Park rides operate in Queensland and Australia, and whether changes need to be made to ensure a similar incident does not happen in the future. • What further actions and safety measures could be introduced to prevent a similar future incident from occurring?
