  1. so here’s what I’ll assume to be the last update for a while. Theming is going in looks like the curve wall is going in with fountains on the lake side. kinda sad but kinda similar to wipeout and it’s wave.

  2. I think I now know the difference between 'Precinct' and 'Themed land'. Themed land is an immersive world, precinct is non themed but with the odd decoration related to an abstract theme. I already know which one I like more, and it isn't Precinct.

  3. i'm very glad they've finally been shutdown, but i'm annoyed that their statements refer to them 'making a decision' to close the parks. BULLSHIT. they closed because they were forced to by the increased restrictions. if the government hadn't included them, they'd still be out there explaining to everyone why the current rules don't apply to them. I saw someone call Bikash out about comments he made 2 months ago about how everyone was blowing it out of proportion. He called them an idiot and said it was a different time. Crap. it was the time to act. the only actions our GC parks took is because they were forced to do so by public sentiment or government regulation. Make no doubts about it.

  5. Despite this post of yours, I will still feel sympathy for you and your family if when any of your family come down with this Virus. I can't imagine the guilt you'll feel should anyone you know passes away from this Epidemic. (Blocking this nong.)

  7. I’ve heard somebody say that Australia is the next Italy because our PM isn’t really doing much. Queensland schools are still open :/.

  8. An inverting flat ride on the Gold Coast being loosely themed towards a wave? What can I say except "Innovate, don't imitate"... How is everyone's expectations holding up? A lot like a story in one of Plato's works, mine have sunk significantly since the announcement. Maybe I had my expectations too high? Or maybe when they bill it as a well-themed and immersive land I expect them to actually deliver...

  9. Oh Mama Mia, Mama Mia.... Uhh.. The second one. Definitely the second one. When they were more prolific, we heard nothing but problems with the direct debit provider - people being turned away at the gate and having to call the company to have something sorted out delaying their entry into the park. Debit Success i think? As someone who has just dealt with a direct debit stuff up (with a different provider for a different reason) that first started at more than $1000 overdue payable immediately, and after I paid in full, then realising it shouldn't have been $1000, so they agreed to refund $200 and stop the next month's payment, but instead of stopping the next month's payment, they took it twice, so then they ended up owing me close to $500, and after chasing them for a week to get it refunded, the refund amount was wrong. So no, direct debit set ups are best left alone - especially with a provider that has shown an inability to prevent frequent issues. I hadn't seen the e-gift card news @Brad2912 so thanks for letting us know.

  10. Sorry but yes. I am not 12 and probably a hell of a lot closer to retirement than most of you, so take that as a compliment. I have direct access to a workplace financial advisor who suggested it was best, given my personal circumstances and the way my fund was set up (high risk, high return). My fund would have kept eating away at itself waaay faster than the contributions were going in. I simply moved it over to a conservative (low risk) program to ride out the storm before changing things again. Yeah I thought cheeky bastards, I could just cancel mine anytime, but for $24 a month I'll use at as a forced savings plan to spend on some fun upcharge whenever that next time comes. Dark times all round people. You would be pretty heartless not to feel for everyone suffering out there right now, and it's going to get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better. Directly & indirectly, we are all in this together and up to everyone to do their bit in looking after one another.

  12. Not quite. Qantas executives are taking NO pay, not REDUCED pay. given the remuneration in the VRTP annual report I’m sure all the executives can afford to forgo their salary for the rest of the financial year. If you’re not retiring anytime soon, seek some advice before acting. If you ditch the stock strategy, the fund will ditch the stock, making a permanent loss. when stock prices go up, you won’t be holding them. If you retain the shares in the fund (by staying in a stock strategy), when they go up (and most of them will) your losses will reduce. best advice: before changing super strategies, seek financial advice from a professional advisor.

  14. .. so what if the big Cheese himself, AKA "Rocketman" got COVID-19 A-lexi-B? All jokes aside, the guy is hardly a picture of health, so he likely wouldn't bode too well if he did.
