  1. Please keep up. @Jdude95 has accused @Jordan M. of being a snitch. @Jordan M. Refutes the allegations and states @Jdude95 has no proof. @AlexB and @Jdude95 have formed a bromance after they met at the DW inquest. @AlexB now pipes up whenever @Jdude95 is under return fire to defend @Jdude95 (some would say @AlexB even lies to coverup for his master((but not me)) @Jobe has puppy eyes for @Jdude95 with his constant positive reactions to @Jdude95 replies. @Jdude95 hasn't noticed @Jobe advances because he only has eyes for @AlexB. @Skeeta is no longer in a bromance with @AlexBand is open to a new relationship. Just like any other day at Parkz I would say.

  2. I’m emerging out of my cave for a little bit to post this because I feel it’s relevant. The reopening of the Gold Coast parks is going to be a logistical nightmare if rushed. It's one thing to get guests through the gates but once inside there needs to be enforced efforts to ensure the safety of guests and so far Ive seen nothing publicly that suggests that the parks are ready for this. If the parks want to use their position as leaders in the tourism industry which they’ve been boasting they should also be laying out their own framework to the public and other establishments for how their reopening is going to occur and what measures will be in place to ensure guest and employee safety. If a single outbreak occurs within those gates consumer confidence is going to plummet and it'll cause a cascading effect to the wider tourism industry. The global industry is adapting to this situation and many companies are laying out proactive plans for their reopening that go beyond the necessary guidelines to instil confidence in the public eye because without that confidence it doesn't matter what your capacity is if people aren't willing to attend the venue. I want to see the leaders of the Gold Coast tourism industry lead in this situation and provide clear demands not only on what they require to operate safely whilst still being financially viable but also outlines on what will be in place when they are operating to ensure safety of staff and guests. Opinions are my own.

  5. WNW will continue to be ignored by village. Village will offer it for sale, but no one wants it. Village eventually closes it down to build a hotel in its place. WNW now forms part of a new development called the “Movie World Resort and Water Park”.

  6. I think a Gerstlauer Infinity coaster would work really well in Arkham Asylum's space, the ride does not need that much space which is something Movie World might struggle with. Also, on the lines of IPs. It honestly doesn't matter what it is when it is done right. Wild West Falls is very loosely based on the movie, which i don't know many people who have actually seen that movie yet it is one of the most popular attractions at the park. I know the wild west as a whole is a very known concept and easy to market, but the point still stands.

  7. Most kids don't know what hollywood stunt driver is but.... oh yeah fair point. Police Academy was long in the tooth even in the mid-90's, but it still lasted for well over another decade. Relevance to the kids doesn't matter if the show is actually good. As a community leader Gazza, you'd know that one of the functions of the forums is that double-replies posted quickly one after the other are merged, provided nobody else comments in between.... So this part of the post i'm typing now is typed after i have submitted the first reply, but the forum software will merge this comment, provided nobody else has replied. And this is another reply i've typed after submitting a second time to say 'damn auto correct, ooops', but still merged by the software. Ok he couldn't figure out how to edit his post, but its actually quite easy to have the posts auto-merged without even meaning to, to have the 'auto correct' comment appear in the same post, while still being unable to figure out how to edit the original post. Final comment to be merged in after pressing submit reply 3 times now - as a community leader, instead of haranguing the guy, you could always just edit the post to help the guy out, and helpfully point out the edit functions, rather than continuing to treat him like an idiot because you didn't know the forum would merge two separate replies...

  9. I reckon Water World costs more in consumables, staffing, costuming per day than VTPs annual show budget. thats the issue.

  10. All valid points. At this stage I’d be happy to see something of quality from the parks first years come back into play. The park has lost its magic big time. A shame really, it once was a park that certainly bought world class attractions to the country, now? I think I’ve said enough.

  13. Blue Fire (the original) was designed with the MCBR in mind as part of its many block sections so it could operate with 5 trains to handle the crowds Europa Park gets (this is the 2nd most attended park in Europe after Disney, mind you). To my knowledge its clones dont operate anywhere near as many trains, the ones in China all operate with 2 trains and the one in Dubai operates with 3. My brain tells me that 2 trains will be ordered, the same amount as what Village ordered with DCR. It should be enough capacity for DW to get through crowds in peak summer period. It'll be a people eater for a signature ride especially when compared to the piss poor capacity TOT had. I recall reading somewhere a while back about when DW was discussing the spinning cars, it was said they were ordering 2 trains for this ride, something that seems to be confirmed by a search on the coaster's RCDB page.

  14. Currently at best it's abstract theming. A Vortex is one directional where SW have broken all the rules of the universe. Not only is it not spinning correctly it's egg-shaped. I'm sure it looked great on paper but I will be viewing the ride from a front on perspective. Anyway I will leave my final judgement to the end but I do have a bad feeling.🤨 Yes @Gazza I understand what SW was going for. All SW need to do now is place a few inflatable tube guys on top of the Vortex walls and we're ready to go.

  20. The limits are there for a reason. Anyone trying to push opening the parks sooner is doing so clearly because they have the wellbeing of the shareholders before that of their customers. Whilst it would be nice to see them open earlier they are a non-essential high risk business. Even if they provide a highly detailed plan of what they are doing when it comes to prevention I would be extremely cautious about visiting.

  22. Absolutely. and those exact reason are why it won’t be executed properly by MW.

  23. Most kids haven't seen the 1995 film Waterworld, or know of that IP. Yet the Waterworld stunt show (a stunt show based off that IP) is a very popular attraction, and still highly regarded as one of the best theme park stunt shows in the world. When Universal Beijing opens next year, 4 of those shows will be cloned around the world. The post apocalyptic world of Mad Max lends itself towards a fantastic set, costumes, and action sequences. There are many similarities between the Mad Max and Waterworld films; why not take inspiration from the most successful themepark stunt show in the world.

  24. I mostly agree with @Gazza - Complete overhaul of Kids WB Fun Zone. - Completely new stunt show. Mad Max is the glaringly obvious choice for the theme. It's the most perfect IP, as it's an Australian film, and distributed by Roadshow Films locally, and Warner Bros. Pictures internationally. - Replace lethal weapon with a next gen Vekoma Flying coaster. A Batman theme would work perfectly. - Family thrill mine train coaster that interacts with Wild West Falls in some way. With some cool tricks (e.g. drop track, backwards section, multi launches).

  27. So a friend of mine contacted me to say Bikash Randhawa, COO of Village Roadshow Theme Parks had written to him accusing him of writing this post, and threatening legal action over defamation from this post, unless the poster posts an apology. Bikash also advised he had contacted the police already over this post. Whilst my personal opinion is that, an opinion of myself and only myself, I would like to formally apologise to Bikash Randhawa for my comments. I apologise for any harm caused, and I retract my statement

  28. Thank you for being safe and staying home during this time of great uncertainty. I can't stress how important it is not to visit practically empty car parks with no one in sight. You have done a great service to the Australian pubic and coaster enthusiasts around the world. My hat goes off to you kind sir.

  31. I said inspiration, didn’t say imagination! The concept of the type of show Water World is, open, grungy, bigger stunts is what im referring to. Just because mad max wasn’t the countries best film, doesn’t mean the show wouldn’t work. Again look at water world, it’s an incredible show, but the movie is utter trash.

  32. In my opinion they'll either try to renew the license or give it an IP-less retheme. A revival of the Kenny character would be a good idea for the latter. If DW try to renew it, I believe it falls through because in what universe is Comcast going to license one of their properties to a competitor. I do not think the area will get a new IP, because there aren't many relevant and major family oriented IP's to choose from these days that don't have the theme park rights to them clawed up by Disney, Village or Universal. In fact, I can't think of any IP's off the top of my head that could take over the Dreamworks space.

  38. No way in this universe Village have the funds to make a show like Waterworld and the show only works for kids because it is a large spectacle. You do Mad Max with the budget of HWSD and see what type of show you get. Police Academy was a comedy stunt show based on a comedy movie. The relevance to the kids was it was funny. Mad Max is not funny.

  39. Stage 3 only allows for 100 people within one location, so unless a compromise for theme parks is made, they won’t reopen until stage 4 or 5 (which haven’t been discussed yet). We may seem some delays, but they said earlier this year that parts would begin arriving in May, and they have, so it seems to be on track. It may not be open by Summer, but I’d expect by Easter 2021

  41. Will be 2 trains likely. It's a blue fire clone, but not all versions actually have brakes or catwalks fitted to the "MCBR", the train just coasts through a flat section of track. https://rcdb.com/10838.htm#p=51056

  42. You can't reference RCDB as gospel. When the coaster was first listed on RCDB was 99.72% incorrect and at a quick glance it looks like some details are still incorrect.

  44. The guys a wanker, full stop. He is more interested in making himself look good than for the safety of the guests or the industry’s future. I mean, honestly, before him, when did we see Village management in the media all the time? Never except for circumstances such as major ride failures (green lantern for example). Let him open the parks, chances are high an outbreak will occur because of it, and the guy will be hauled over the coals for it.
