  2. Well they managed to fool everyone into thinking Rivals didn’t exist while it was being constructed. So I’m sure they’ll be able to do the same with AA 😏

  6. Hopefully, by the end of the year, the many folks over the years who have downtrodden the idea of a park getting a woody will be able to eat their words. This really is kick ass, and i'm looking forward to riding this way more than I ever looked towards Rivals.

  8. In my mind the whole FastTrack thing is just Village leaving money on the table. By having the app and having one source of truth (Accesso) for the majority of the guest experience, they'd be pulling in crazy data on consumer behaviour that they're clearly not leveraging to maximise daily revenue. They would know age, gender, party size, geolocations throughout the day, purchase behaviour, visit behaviour, app access behaviour pre-visit etc. etc. and a bunch of other data points that they could use to create subsets of customers (enthusiasts, families, couples to name some basic level ones) that they could target with specialised offers. If the Rivals backwards seats haven't sold well, why not create a trigger that at 2pm you send an offer to enthusiasts in-park for a $5 backwards seat they could redeem via Apple Pay/Google-Pay in-app? I'm guessing this is why BGH Capital want to invest so much effort into theme parks, there's easily a few million left on the table every year just by having a comms strategy that refuses to get with the times.

  9. Both. I found comments on posts from them on multiple occasions

  10. MW did confirm on Facebook comments and messages that the ride was no more though?

  11. Arkham just slowly gets pieces of it removed over the next 5 years as they say a replacement is coming. Only for them to put 3 new rides down near WWF and pretend Arkham never existed

  12. For our area, it’s exciting to see a modern wooden coaster in the country again. Thumbs up to those at village who signed off and got this going, shows some major planning to foresight to get this. it should be a very good roller coaster ride, but for that little corner of the park, it is quite ugly..

  14. 4 across seating is too much capacity. Lol. Seriously though - do what other parks have done and install a second tower. There's plenty of room for it, and you could diversify your experiences, while also maintaining uptime by staggering maintenance and teardowns.

  15. I'd actually really love to see something like this happen. It'd beat Dreamworld to the punch with any potential Giant Drop refurb plans. The only concern there would be capacity - losing those four seats might be enough to kill the idea before it gets off the ground. Just going to rant for a second - Arkham's closed. It's 100% confirmed by park social media teams. Can they hurry up and rip the signs down and put a presser out to make it ultra clear to guests? It's so contemptuous to expect paying customers to invest heavily into their comms strategy (social media posts, newsletter and their app), but on the other hand are making permanently shuttered attractions look "closed for maintenance." If they want customer buy-in, some respect across the board for guests is in order.

  16. Park Life goes alright - Michael Croaker's a great interviewer but it's still a bit too safe. I'd kill to hear what a day in life of Shane Philips or Bikash is like on top of their path to their current role. Do these managers and execs get up at 5am? What's their routine like most days? What's the biggest obstacle they've had to overcome? What's been their darkest day? What did they learn from that? What do most days look like? What's the best part and most trying part of that day? etc. etc.

  20. Fast track at Sea World?? What is that like over $50 per ride? Our parks are just too small to warrant things like virtual queuing and online food ordering.

  21. It’s not exactly an architectural beauty. With all the issues sea world has had on the spit previously, I’m surprised there wasn’t more uproar about this ride going in. As an enthusiast, it’s a mix of wood, steel, and nails, and it looks like a good roller coaster, but it’s not exactly pretty. Pretty is something I’d consider the Tree of Life, the floating mountains in avatar, and so on. This roller coaster is as beautiful as scaffolding on a construction site. Don’t get me wrong, i’m excited for this ride, I love wooden roller coasters. When I did the DCP in Orlando, I would hog Gwazi, even in its limped form. I do not quite understand your dreamworld comment though.

  22. I’m hoping with the maintenance happening on Batwing Space Shot, and it may be far fetched, but I’m hoping they extend the tower to make it taller, and add the new S&S Spin Shot seats. this will bring new life to the ride!!
