  3. I think it’s amazing. Easily the best pre-ride video in Australia, closely followed by the pre-ride video Arkham Asylum had.

  5. He sold theme parks to Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook, and, by gum, it put them on the map!

  7. I’m glad dreamworld are putting quite a bit of effort into this like sky voyager with the (IMO) good themed queue and good if corny safety video. so I’m happy seeing dreamworld is improving in the theming department because (IMO) after dreamworks the park fell when it came to theming with some exceptions like the hot wheels queue.

  8. Ugh. That is still such a stupid name. Not even "Whirly Bug" or "THE Bug"; just BUG. Sounds so underwhelming! I can't get over it!

  11. Space Probe 7’s video was rubbish. Sky Voyager’s Soarin’ music is epic and the pre-ride always gets a chuckle from me. “Push it, push it real good.” What a classic line. Anyway, time to keep it in topic. 😂🍻

  12. I don't think Luna Park rides need logos. For the entirety of the park's history, the closest we've had to logos are stylized letters or bridges. If Luna Park just slaps these logos on small signs, that'll be very disappointing. They should probably follow the theme they've been going for recently, like the signs at the entrances of Tango Train and Volare, or even Sledgehammer based on the concept artwork. Just fancy words. Take a look at the base of the the original Tumblebug. There's a long mural across the queue with paintings of the iconic bug, the 'main character' of the ride. Since Little Nipper doesn't have a bridge but still has a 'main character', similar paintings of a cartoon shark along the base of the loading platform would IMO give the ride more soul than a fibreglass train and a copy-paste print around the back.

  14. Am I the only one who thinks sky voyager and its theming is below average, the ride itself is very basic imo

  15. Local's passes are about $25 more, but that shouldn't matter - they've created their own 'different classes' of membership systems instead of just upping the price of the existing tiers. I don't really care about the invites - its highly unlikely i'll ever have so little to do that I could attend these things and wait around for hours, but its a little disappointing that they treat folks who are clearly loyal and willing to support the parks paying monthly (and its been a few years since Memberships ended so there's longevity there). The point is the premier memberships were meant to be the 'top shelf' item. They've stripped certain benefits away, added nothing, not reduced the price, and introduced another pass over the top that is less convenient, more expensive, and offers nothing more. There's no incentive to switch, save for missing out on a few media invites - which appears to be petty to exclude those loyal members. I feel like they'd be better off using the carrot than the stick if they want to switch people off memberships rather than to continue to regard them as second class when they were a premium product.

  18. Please provide MW feedback, particularity if a specific staff member was helpful, such as the front gate attendant. Direct positive feedback is a lot less uncommon than complaints and means a lot for all involved.

  20. Occasionally I'll search through tender websites for theme park projects and yesterday's search at work had delivered some treasure. Here is what is worth noting: This is what the queue line and station looks like. It would appear they are going with a snake skeleton shade structure. Exit Path. There will be 2 tunnels. This is the modern entrance sign is going next to Sky Voyager in Main Street. They will be cutting and filling a sizeable amount of the coaster's site. As a result there will be a large, imposing retaining wall on the Giant Drop side. A look at the station structure. It looks the same as Rivals or Green Lantern. Ramp up to station. An overview of the site. I do not know how this will integrate with Buzzsaw. There is a lot of mentions of the name "Steel Taipan" in the documents, which must be the name they are going to use. When you go to the Australian Trade Mark Search website (https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/quick/result?q=ardent+leisure) you can see they have trademarked that name already. If the trademarks are anything to go by, you would also assume that Sidewinder may be renamed GoldCoaster (or The Gold Coaster or something like that) once when it opens again. There is a lot of PDF files in the tender that were cool to check out including Mack PDF files. Happy to upload them somewhere or send them to Parkz to upload if you all are interested to look at the tender further. And before anyone rages about leaks these files are easily available on the tender site and those names are found on the public Aussie trademark website.

  21. Agree it is good. But please don’t say good and the sky voyager video in the same sentence. I see that they tried to recreate the Soarin experience, but “Cassie” gets old really quick. Unlike the way Patrick Warburton does his cheese, she is as repeatable as Melissa Mcarthy. Granted it was better than the original contrived video they had for the pre show, but it’s still not amazing, and It comes across as amateurish. Including the obvious rip of the Soarin music they play in the main queue hall.
