  3. I’m at movieworld today and crowds are huge, between 1 and 2 hour waits for all rides that are open, seems family’s all decided that kids can have the day off. batwing is complete again with ride vehicles sitting on tower, it may open earlier than the 7th may. superman is still only 1 train with the line outside and near the joker statue. doomsday appears to be fully back together and maintenance working on it(control room) so it hopefully it will finally reopen soon wild west falls - all effected are working again including all water sprouts at the back of ride

  6. Let's not confuse loyalty with forgetting to cancel something.

  7. Any gym will tell you having people set up on a monthly direct debit is a much bigger win that them paying upfront for a fixed term. Close to your expiry date, when you get a bill in the mail (or a renewal email) requesting $140, you have to take action on it for it to continue - you consider the value, the usage, your current financial situation etc - apathy doesn't lead to the business in question making money off you. On a monthly ongoing/rolling payment, unless you are a genuine budget keeper when it comes to your finances, you are less likely to notice what is a small charge ($12 per month), and even if not using/taking advantage of it, less likely to cancel it (ahh... its only $12, we'll probably go in a few weeks....). There are probably plenty of people paying monthly that have forgotten they even have memberships (especially given Membership holders dont get sent exclusive offers etc anymore).

  8. At my company we encourage our customers to pay by the month with auto renewal as the customer retention rate is pretty much double. Not particularly loyalty but money is money

  9. Not really, no. There's a reason there are still quite a few people around that hold memberships, who haven't migrated to One Pass. There's several actually - and although the OnePass is more expensive, it isn't the cost - because when OnePass originally came out, it was CHEAPER than a Membership. Memberships included much the same benefits as a OnePass - entry to certain night events, entry to all four parks, but memberships also get entry to fright nights - a benefit not included in the one pass. Discounts were also offered at some outlets, stores and experiences in each park, as well as whale watching cruises, and even room discounts for sea world resort. Source Now its been a while since I checked what parts of these benefits are still valid. I'm fairly certain Fright nights is still an inclusion, but I don't believe the discounts are offered anymore. This leaves us (after all the pricing and structure changes) with essentially an identical pass (save for one or two night event changes), except you can pay by the month, and its now cheaper. Village have continued to erode the benefits offered to those who showed their loyalty. They used to send out offers like the above to both onepass and memberships alike. Now they're only sending to onepass holders - another exclusion for members - and you think that by offering them the same product as what everyone else can get, for more money than they're currently paying, with a less convenient lump-sum-each-year payment option (or afterpay which doesn't compare to debitsuccess), no auto renewal, and lose access to fright nights without paying extra, for the chance, maybe, to get once-off invites to attend filming days, is a carrot? What I meant was - if Village wants to end the memberships, which they've shown a lot of contempt for, they should offer members a REAL incentive to swap over so that they can consolidate their ticketing system, not have to pay commissions to debit success every month, and keep those loyal membership fans happy to continue forking out for annual passes when they're no longer under any obligation to keep renewing.

  10. Glad it went so wonderfully and the cast were great Phoebe - my only thought is perhaps you missed out on Green Lantern unnecessarily - as you say above - don't be afraid to try, and i'm not sure the 'lady out the front' could be relied upon. As has been said (and by your own experience) cast are more than happy to help give you an opportunity to test out the harness discreetly, and there's no other experience on the coast like Green Lantern. give it a try!

  14. Space Probe 7’s video was rubbish. Sky Voyager’s Soarin’ music is epic and the pre-ride always gets a chuckle from me. “Push it, push it real good.” What a classic line. Anyway, time to keep it in topic. 😂🍻

  15. I don't think Luna Park rides need logos. For the entirety of the park's history, the closest we've had to logos are stylized letters or bridges. If Luna Park just slaps these logos on small signs, that'll be very disappointing. They should probably follow the theme they've been going for recently, like the signs at the entrances of Tango Train and Volare, or even Sledgehammer based on the concept artwork. Just fancy words. Take a look at the base of the the original Tumblebug. There's a long mural across the queue with paintings of the iconic bug, the 'main character' of the ride. Since Little Nipper doesn't have a bridge but still has a 'main character', similar paintings of a cartoon shark along the base of the loading platform would IMO give the ride more soul than a fibreglass train and a copy-paste print around the back.

  16. I think it’s amazing. Easily the best pre-ride video in Australia, closely followed by the pre-ride video Arkham Asylum had.

  17. I’m glad dreamworld are putting quite a bit of effort into this like sky voyager with the (IMO) good themed queue and good if corny safety video. so I’m happy seeing dreamworld is improving in the theming department because (IMO) after dreamworks the park fell when it came to theming with some exceptions like the hot wheels queue.
