  1. Raging Waters has also just announced it's reopening date and as expected it is much later than Luna Parks, opening up on December 18th just in time fo rthe Summer School Holidays. Will be interesting to see what happens with the price of a Season Pass as it will be a few months shorter of a season than usual.

  2. I thought I should say something positive - and so i'll just say 'at least it isn't red'. This is pitiful. All of the efforts we've seen them do elsewhere - and they knew this giant hole was going to exist when they planned to remove TOT - and go away colourbond is what we get? Obviously driveway access was needed here but why do we need to - couldn't we have dropped in some large planters with some grown in shrubs or palm trees, or semi-screened with something less bold than corrugated metal a foot from the path? This isn't temporary hoarding until they finish - this looks permanent. and its horrible.

  3. This morning I was invited out to Dreamworld to get a sneak peek of Steel Taipan and a walk through of the entire area. I’ll start out by saying, overall they’ve done a good job with the area. It’s very nicely presented, good aesthetic/theming elements and watching both trains in testing while in the queue/entry areas is awesome. I was able to take a few photos of the area, so I’ll describe what I captured and if anyone has any questions, I’ll try answer them the best I can with what I can share publicly. The entry signage is something we’ve already seen, but here it is up close The path leading to the queue entry A look at the entry and exit paths There is a test seat before joining the queue. The garden beds throughout have been done very nicely. Suits the theme/style. There is a main, single rider and Tailwhip queue. The queue wait time and ride safety information sign is yet to be installed, but will be positioned here. The station area is massive and allows for many people to be organised for loading to make it as efficient as possible. There are also large fans in the station and queue. The screens will show boarding information. Here’s a closer look at the train

  4. Its just time and money. I did not feel I will have enough time to fit all the parks in I wanted to. Universal and Disney are non negotiable and I liked Magic Mountains lineup better. Knott is on my 'if i have time list.' It looks like a great park, but at the end of the day I am only planning to spend about a week in LA and as an older bloke I need some downtime. UPDATE: I spoke this with the crew I am going with and after watching a few more videos and reading more reviews and considering the input from you guys we have decided Knott's is in!

  5. I had in my head that you could fly straight from Australia to New York, but I guess that was one of those experimental Project Sunrise flights. Just a few more random points on this thread: - I agree with@Gazzathat I'd pick Hersheypark over Kennywood if I only had time for one, but I'd do everything in my power to make time for the other. - Skipping over Knoebels is a sin. That park is a joy, and arguably one of the nicest environments in North America. The two wood coasters are phenomenal and the atmosphere is in a league of its own. - If you're taking a domestic flight cross-country I'd personally suggest flying into EWR (Newark) and going to Six Flags Great Adventure instead of Coney Island. Driving in New York is expensive and a pain in the ass, and the coasters and rides at the Six Flags park are vastly better. - VelociCoaster at Universal Florida is the best coaster I've ridden in years. If you're even remotely close to there I'd recommend making the effort.

  6. Biggest issue we had last time at Magic Mountain was that around 1/2 of the rides were just closed without any advertisement of such on the website or even at the gates. Meant that even though on paper MM looked better, Knotts was a much better day as everything was open. Of course we went in a relatively quiet period, so could be completely different depending on when you intend to go.
