Its been about 6 months since most of those rides were commissioned, is there like a 6 month mandatory service that rides would need to have happen, regardless of them being used or not?

Seems like the slides are finally going in. Considering the park is opening this weekend and there is still tones of work to do I wonder when they will get it open. Hopefully it doesn't get delayed till next year.

A total stab in the dark would be loading in the chain for the lift hill.

Yes and no. Dreamworld building shorter rides like ST theoretically allows for better execution of 'sight lines' (think Disney) which is one of the best things you can do to make a park immersive, but no park in Australia does this these days. Theming and immersion aside, first impressions matter, and the driving-to-the-gate view of DW will look far better once ST is open than what it used to be, which was a shitfest of big faded junk that makes the park look like Six Flags.

Cheers for the update Richard! A lot of that is really good to hear and I'm excited that the big vertical garden is going ahead. I agree that it would be fantastic if it was real as I don't think a fake garden would age well in the GC sun but we will wait and see. Thanks for keeping us in the loop mate. Absolutely. Just as it's premature to write off an unfinished building, I'm certainly not going to defend it just yet. I'll be the first to call it out if the end product falls short of expectations. The only thing I was asked not to photograph or discuss in detail is the final theming, but there's probably a few things I can say: Vertical gardens will feature prominently around the ride as per the concept model. Hopefully real, not fake. Maintenance/inspection requirements will limit what they can do with bare patches on the slab. They need to be able to crane in boom lifts etc. The concepts I have seen for the pre-ride/station area are surprisingly fully realised. I'm told everything I was shown is now locked in and most of it has been fabricated/rendered.
