  1. That'd be the result of CMYK dot printing, hence the aforementioned yellow banding. You can learn about big dots and little dots here. A mix of different film stocks, sunlight and John changing his mind several times during construction made figuring out the final opening day colour a bit tricky. For example, when I took a photo of one of John's books and then added a film stock look to the photo, the muted colours make it look like this. But this aerial shot (scanned from that same book for John's biography) shows the colours more towards what I understand is true to life.

  2. It's almost like the top of the hill has a bit of a Mad Max vibe.

  3. It would be so good for re opening if they brought back the old colour scheme. The rest of mainstreet yeah whatever that can be the new colours....but I think there was some definite original design intent that the design of the station and the design of the main entrance building Dreamworld should complement each other. Plus with a fresh new colour scheme it helps sell it as a fully refreshed attraction.

  4. Can confirm there's a little train in there that used to go semi-regularly out onto that little bridge. I'm almost certain it's on a basic timer from memory. It's essentially just a little circular model train track that plugs into 240v. Was working up until Happy Halloween 2019, it was unplugged for lights and wasn't plugged back in. I think i've pointed it out once or twice before on here and usually Dreamworld are pretty good in taking feedback from here and using it to improve the park, so there's probably a good reason why it's not running again yet (probably the overgrowth). Fun fact - neither the train or the climbing fig were opening day touches. Not sure if they're a later John Longhurst addition or not, my guess would be yes given how nuts he is about trains. I've added some photos of the station in from one of the books John's loaned me. Would love to see it return to these more traditional colours too, along with the hanging baskets etc.

  5. SX360 and Dingo racer photos from the top of the Ferris wheel. They are running SX360 on 2 different cycles at the moment - 11.30am to 1.30pm on cycle 1 (1 full rotation), then 1.30pm to 3pm on cycle 4 (3 full rotations, maybe 4 if you get lucky). Staff are about to start training on Dingo racer, hoping for an opening during school holidays early January (info came from a senior ride attendant)

  6. Now you're just showing your age... You're right about what it is, although i've no idea about the frequency. I think @Slick might know more about this little piece though...

  7. I mean I've said what I've said. It's reasonably known that an Arkham replacement is in the works that is well progressed. There is considerable chatter from many places to that end that there simply wasn't with Vikings. When it'll open who knows, but the insinuation was that they only can do one thing at a time. I'm telling you that's not true.
