  3. From what I have heard its a refurb at the directive of Lego to keep it in line with the Lego store franchise.

  4. Here is a mini update, not really much point going back until opening day now. Super ripper is finished and has daylight ring effects on the enclosed section. The shade structure over the kids area is huge and looks very heavy duty due to the cantilever design.

  5. But the legal precedent is not. The events of Hair Raiser and the subsequent legal challenges were the final nail in the coffin. The government and the relevant bodies are firmly on the Park's side and the residents have no further legal recourse, provided the park is staying within the guidelines set forth by the regulations. The park is being a little antagonistic about it (and after 17 years in their current form, I can't blame them), but so long as they stay on the right side of the law, the resident's issues amount to not much more than hot air.

  7. They've gutted the entire building, but left the lego-brick shaped light fixtures in place. My money is just a refurb. It's been 5 years - some shopping centres require retail stores to revamp their look at the end of every lease to keep the stores fresh so it could be similar motivation from Lego to freshen things up, or to implement new elements they didn't previously have. There's been no announcement by the park of an ending to the partnership also...

  8. I like you, we're on different sides of this issue, but that seems like a strawman argument

  9. This is all that has to be mentioned. People will always bitch and complain but it does not matter.

  10. Excellent great to see, keep posting if more happens today? This is really exciting and it's good to have some good news haha. In regards to the residents complaining about noise from the 8 rides. What is their goal this time? Is it to restrict hours of operation or try to close all these rides? Or is it to make sure LPS can't build rides again? Worse comes to worse just put scream shields on Boomerang, Sledgehammer and Big Dipper?

  13. 27th to the 30th inclusive will be the busiest days at the parks this year. 4th to the 8th will be busy, but an odd choice for my taste.

  15. A pro-vax radical refuses to have any association with un-vaxxed people, including their own family and friends, because they feel by their mere presence they’ll somehow be struck down and killed by a disease they are supposedly already vaccinated against.

  18. To me I find the conflict reassuring. If Covid was a NWO bullshit thing to get us to take vaccines and all governments were in on it, you'd expect a much more coordinated response. That it's ramshackle and is made up on the fly says to me that it is fallible people in government honestly doing their best to respond to a situation.

  20. Hey how come on Facebook the people wanting refunds are being so abusive towards the park even though it wasn't the parks choice? .🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

  21. Just as a contrasting story. I had a pass purchased as a gift last christmas for the VRTP theme parks. It's valid for 12 months. Now there's been time within these last 12 months where we could have attended, but really we were waiting for these new rides to open to make better use of our time. Lockdown's came and its now going to be too close to Christmas when we're allowed back in to QLD. So we asked VRTP what we could do, they gave us a 'refund' in the form of a credit to use within 3 years. Now, did they have to do that? No, but it's good PR that they did. They could have said 'sorry, but these are the terms' but they didn't, and I'm happy that they did. Instead of having something negative to say, I'm saying something positive. Whilst I don't agree that anti-vaxxers are on the right side of the argument, I do feel that the parks need to take their requests seriously. Remember, just because someone is vaxxed, doesn't mean that they won't retaliate against businesses that enforce their own mandate for vaccination (in addition to existing Gov. rules), some have reluctantly been vaxxed due to threats of job loss etc.

  22. I'm not entirely opposed to it. Maybe just let the virus loose in the camp, and in a few weeks the survivors (of which there will be plenty) can rejoin society? For the record, 97% of me is joking, probably about 3% of me means it, but according to people who are anti vax, a 3% rate isn't worth doing anything about 🙂 @Gazza is spot on. I don't think legally you need to extend passes, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. Act in good faith, and give the nutters an extension.

  23. Let's be clear. The parks haven't changed their terms and conditions. These entry requirements are government orders, and they don't get a choice whether they follow it or not. The existing terms and conditions cover this, and don't require the park to compensate you for circumstances beyond their control They can, and have made good faith gestures, both en-masse when the parks were closed, and case-by-case for NSW passholders when the borders locked them out They are not required to do diddly squat.

  24. But they're not closing the parks due to COVID, they are being required to ensure that their patrons are vaccinated. The resources involved in extending passes solely for those who can't come because they aren't double-vaxxed just wouldn't be worth it. You'd need to allocate customer service agents, IT resources, and WebDev. You would also need to figure out a way to ensure that those coming into the park aren't those with extensions as that would directly impact revenue from pass renewals. There are also too many variables. What do you do if somebody extends their pass because they're not vaxxed but then they get vaxxed? It's too messy. Anything that they do would be in good faith, but it's not required.

  25. Spicy opinion incoming but I would imagine that there is no reason why they have to give refunds. People who have medical exemptions are given the same options as those who are vaccinated so that rules out discrimination. There is a freedom of choice, but Theme parks don't need to accommodate to your refunds if you move to a different state, so why should they provide a refund if you choose not to get vaccinated?

  26. Some climbing fig to cover the wall, removing all the rock and replacing it with grass, adding in a few trees (Jacarandas would be amazing down that pathway) combined with some benches along the path would be great, dirt cheap and would elevate the space from being guest hostile and unpleasant into something people would take photos of. It'd also make that part of the train journey real pleasant in the spring. Sidenote, I'd also widen the path where it deviates around the track and add a nice rest area between Giant Drop & Steel Taipan's flyover. I'm thinking something like one of Australia Zoo's many rest areas. Eventually i'd pull through on Craig Davidson's plan, pull the entirety of spaghetti junction down and pop Giant Drop's queue inbetween where the train line will shape down and connect to the new path that runs along Steel Taipan's wall.

  27. I have unfortunately had to leave my job due to not being vaccinated. No I didn’t work at Dreamworld and no I don’t blame them since it’s a government decision but yes a lot of people have lost their livelihood due to the tyrannical government mandating potential poison.

  28. Or they just prefer not to put the heat on themselves and pass the backlash onto the small local coffee shop owners or the theme park.
