  1. Here's a new POV of the ride by CoasterLife; the ride has sped up SIGNIFICANTLY from the POV the park posted!

  2. Yeah I cannot wait to ride it. Doing so in early January. I have been on these forums for a long time now and I have always been a proponent of Luna Park receiving a new coaster. It’s been a passion of mine and I dared to believe and hold out hope that it would actually happen. Now that it finally has occurred the scale and audacity of what has been installed is so much more than what I had dreamed. After the debacle of the 2nd Big Dipper and the ensuing resident problems a lot of people ( some on these boards) expressed grave doubts that the park would ever see another coaster. Now we have 2 excellent additions- a neat family coaster and a world first Intamin prototype. We really have to take our hats of to Luna Park and their management for believing in the park itself , the guts to see it through after such a long time and the vision and foresight to deliver what we see today. This is a massive cause for celebrations and it’s also such a massive shot in the arm for the amusement park industry which could have seriously positive ramifications for the future of amusement parks in the rest of the country, in an industry which has been primarily Gold Coast centric. Perhaps the decision to spend $30 million at Luna Park spurred on Gumbuya’s surprising decision to purchase Buzzsaw ( another prediction which many on this board said wouldn’t happen) Hopefully this in turn will see new investment in our parks as a sign of a healthy amusement park industry- both on the Gold Coast and elsewhere in the nation.

  3. The operations for Steel Taipan are putting Hypercoaster to shame at the moment.

  4. How sad that DW is the only park affected by those things at this exact moment. Lucky for MW I guess. Nah the weather isn't quite ideal. Dont forget that WWW is the big draw in Coomera, and WnW was pretty moderately attended today. If tomorrow is Sunny, the parks will be utterly rammed though. It's not a huge shock that attendance is not hitting a big peak this year, in fact it was fairly predictable. I think DW more than the others will really be feeling the lower attendance given how much they've thrown at this particular holidays, but really one ride was never going to return it to historical levels. Their best case scenario this year has always been get some good word of mouth out there and build some forward momentum off of these holidays. Maybe a lightly attended park that has some atmosphere might be what they need. Also as much as it's nice to know what's broken down, when you get a daily update of every ride in every park that experiences down time you find yourself saying 'WTF is going on?' when really these sorts of things have been going on since pretty much forever in all parks around the world. It's very easy to lose perspective. Wind also checks out as a reason for downtime with GD and Gold Coaster. Wasn't there to see the wind levels but there was a bit of wind about and those two rides have been susceptible historically.

  5. That’s good to know that it wasn’t technical issues, but the wind. I agree with the ST staff. The staff they’ve got on that ride are outstanding; so enthusiastic, excited, fast and just good at their job.

  6. Hi all, I just want to let you all know that if anybody was at LPS on Boxing Day, there has been COVID. I've gotten the standard COVID text. I've done a RAT today with it negative. I would also recommend anybody who was there to do the same thing! This has been a very common occurrence. Every time from what I remember I've bought home the Service NSW text! Thanks, Matthew

  7. The park as a whole had an overall amazing vibe today, the only negative was getting off Taipan and hearing a group of Gp’s saying they prefer the Gold Coaster🥲

  8. the line was filled up most of the day but due to how fast they were getting the trains out (by the time the second train stopped on the breaks the other one was going) it ended up being 15-20. looked a longer then it actually was which was a good thing. by the end of the day it was walk on really with still 2 train operations.

  9. shockwave had a couple of breakdowns same with one on tailspin but everything else was running as normal. The park was very busy with a nearly 30min wait just to get food and all the lines full (gold coaster being half way down the spiral one point today.) a couple takeaways from today: - little parts of Escape From Madagascar seem to be repainted, hopefully a full repaint soon - heard from a staff member MDMC has or will be getting a second train again, was unable to go on today to confirm. - heard from same staff member Buzzsaw’s building will be staying for the long term future as it is in good condition and will be used for events in the future. - Claw was having some issues locking back into place after some of the cycles but was easily fixed with the gondola just slightly moving. - rest of the Corroboree area has been reopened

  10. And I reckon it’s a bit harsh calling Gold Coaster a glorified family coaster. It most certainly isn’t. It’s a thrill coaster that is well on its way to becoming a classic. Yes it may not be as intense as some of the newer installs such as Steel Taipan but we have to remember that the ride is coming up to 27 years old. It’s a product of its time and we are lucky to have retained it for the duration and the excellent condition that it currently is in. May it be a feature of Dreamworld for many years yet!!

  11. It's now a shadow of what it was! Happy B'day DW...but let's try to get something of that "feeling" back - yep, you can have all the mod rides etc, but recapture the real spirit!
