  1. Also, FLY has that sideways dark ride section before you rotate into the flying position, which could have been a powering up sequence coming out of the Batcave. Would have been mad.

  3. Adventure World has an amazing quality menu with some great food options. Their pizza and donuts are the best that I have had at a theme park. This bad boy with season pass discount is $28 and is super tasty. Took 3.5 minutes to arrive once ordered. (Tiki bar outlet) All fresh 😎

  4. A next gen Vekoma Flying Coaster (see F.L.Y. @ Phantasialand) would have been a slam dunk replacement for Lethal/Arkham. 1) It's a step up/evolution of what it's replacing. 2) Very unique and easy to market to the GP; would easily capture people's attention/imagination. 3) Fills the multi-looper thrill coaster gap in MWs coaster line-up. 4) Ride system suits a Batman theme; so VRTP can keep milking that DC license and triple their bat cape sales.

  5. It wouldn’t be an enthusiast forum is we weren’t all debating the validity of a parks decisions with zero confirmation that they’ve actually made them 😛

  6. I think the most realistic bet is Easter to Late 2024. No way are they going to turn around three roller coasters in 12 months with demolition, land clearing, construction and theming. New Atlantis in perfect conditions was expected to take 18 months for one roller coaster and 2 flat rides and the world is still far from perfect. Sadly we won’t hear anything until New Atlantis is finished or Dreamworld announces something big in the next couple of months. They knew the risk with announcing it to staff, but we wont get a solid announcement until the time is right for the business. Don’t even be surprised if we see work underway before an official announcement either like DC Rivals.

  7. Here's the layout of the double boomerangs based on the ones at Wildpark Emmen. So you probably could snake a custom invert around the rest, and even have a station fly through. I don't think you'd be able to do the standard SFC layout threaded through, would need to be custom. The following is just speculative, there's of course heaps of land behind scooby if you wanted to do a really long layout.

  8. Do carnival ride operators just put random movie names on their rides and hope for the best? Reminds me of this:

  9. Dreamworld Kenny's Chick 'n Wings Hawaiian Parmigiana $19.50 Pretty damn tasty and good value. Coleslaw underseasoned and dry but recommended if you're looking for something thats not a burger or hotdog. 4/5 noms

  10. Based off of this review, the ride sounds like a pretty decent family coaster with some intense moments, with the most intense moment reaching up to +4G’s (the nearly inverting turn after the drop into tunnel). Imo sounds like the ride will definitely be a stepping stone coaster with it being bigger and more intense then Road Runner but not Scooby. The ride also has a very short height requirement of 100cm which will be great for families.

  11. In the family suspended layout I do love how the track dives underground, I’ve always wanted a coaster on the GC to do that (I know ST sort of does, but not entirely). I do hope one of the parks gets a dive coaster one day (I think DW would be a good choice because it could be too similar to GL if MW got it). But the one coaster I dream our parks will get one day is a flying coaster. The one at Universal Japan is still my favourite coaster ever and would love to be able to continuously experience something like that in Aus. In saying all that, I think some family attractions are needed most at MW and I think 3 coasters are a nice choice for that.

  13. How "family' is 'Family' Could it be like Teen Titans theme?

  14. You don't think Covid and the weather are causing all parks to have lower numbers? I haven't driven past MW once and seen people parked on the grass like every other year.

  15. Hang on. Is this 100% legit? Why would you put in 2 family (albeit dueling) Boomerang coasters and then surround it with….another family coaster?? That seriously makes no sense. Of course the new Vekoma STC coaster is what is needed here. Surely Movieworld can’t be THAT stupid? Look at the success of the install at Tripsdrill. That looks amazing and by all accounts rides fantastic. As a direct replacement for AA then it makes complete sense. To have a non inverting coaster as well as the other 2 family coasters is quite frankly an astonishingly unbalanced decision. I sincerely hope that this is not true.

  16. It's a sad day when the ginger factory family ride is better than MW family ride offerings.

  17. They need to demolish Speedys and replace it with a couple of new kids flats and maybe one central general family flat. They've gotten rid of Tazs bumper cars and put in that calming space, they've gotten rid of pounce and bounce, and of course the Marvin Maggot has been gone for years, so the kids zone is pretty threadbare imo. And it would be such a cheap bit of capital too!

  18. After being one of two riders to be the first ever spinning seat riders for the day/soft opening, I was quite pleasantly surprised with the entire ride experience. First launch is nice and delicate, gently rolling our way up and back down that first element. Only to be interrupted by a killer second launch. Literally everyone on our cycle had our hands up (including us on the spinner) and was immediately jerked forward during the second launch. Once we reached that tail spike, we were immediately awkwardly jerked forward and sideways out of the seats, only to be pinned back by the third and final launch. After snapping the ride photos and gracefully soaring up the wave turn (I think it's called), we made it to the loop. Great hangtime there! The exit of the loop was insane, immediately thrown sidewards yet again as we sped towards the mcbr (mind you, our riders were only tossed within their seats coz our hands were up). Us on the spinner weren't spinning too much (but trust me, as soon as I went on Tailwhip ALONE - the whole experience changed drastically). There are times when you feel the brakes initiate and there are other times when it doesn't. It's very noticable. On exit out of the mcbr, we were treated to a slight thrill of air time, only to be greeted by yet another throw-out-of-your-seat experience with the first of the two inversions on the horseshoe. The second wasn't as bad, but still pretty damn sick! The small tingle of airtime greatly complemented the ride experience, a sort of juxtaposition to what was to come next - calm before the storm sort of thing. That heartline roll is violent but in a great way. Every single rider (no matter what seat - including the spinner) is thrown out of their seats yet again one last time. The major thing that I expected, but very much caught me by surprise. That roll is I N T E N S E. Overall, a great investment for the park. Despite not too many Annual Passholders present, this ride is sure to be a major hit at Dreamworld. Looking forward to a bright future at Dreamworld and great crowd numbers return. Highly recommend this ride. A perfect 10/10. Yes it's a triple launch, but that's what makes this AMAZING.

  19. Spinning seat was absolutely insane, I am fine chain running DC rivals backwards but I dont think I can do more than 1 spinning in a day. 100% worth doing but trying to figure out where you are is disorienting and left my head spinning for quite a while after. One second you are facing forward, next second you are upside down facing backwards. I feel we are lucky to have this opportunity to ride something so intense. What a day!

  20. You heard it here first folks (Unless you are a cast member at one of the staff town hall meetings 😁) Arkham will be replaced by <drumroll> Dual Vekoma family boomerangs and a new suspended coaster.
