  1. lol sure....Translation: "This allows us to install the planned themeing as intended"...not ADD additional themeing.

  2. I figured this needs it's own thread rather than being buried in the retirement thread. Took a squizz at nearmap this morning and while most of the parts are still sitting in an industrial estate at Pakenham, a lone piece of track has shown up in Gumbuya World, which i'm pretty certain is Skyloop track... except it's GREEN! Looks like a new theme for it's new home - let the speculation begin - what could they theme it like?

  3. Well the front of that train is decidedly less impressive than the original concept art with the dragon's head. Leviathan parts were arriving as early (and earlier) than September 2020. What could possibly have taken 18 months to ship? Are they using AusPost?

  4. Delays at SeaWorld’s $50 million theme park upgrade will enter a second year after the park postponed the opening for the third time due to shipping delays. The New Atlantis was set to feature two new attractions, including the Leviathan and the Trident. The new attractions were originally due tolaunch in ‘mid-2021’, however was pushed back due to unavoidable transport problems caused by the pandemic. Village Roadshow Theme Parks communications boss Mitchell Olivey said shipping delays due to Covid-19 was the main factor to why it was pushed back. “Our domestic team and international partners were severely impact by shipping delays that have changed our delivery timeline for the Leviathan and Trident attractions at the New Atlantis precinct at Sea World,” he said. Mr Olivey said the new opening date was September 3 for both of the attractions. “This new timeline will also allow our team to add additional improved thematic elements to the precinct which will be a truly world-class experience for guests at Sea World.” Fans hearing about the delay have expressed their disappointment online. “I got passes last year so the kids could go in this Xmas. Some delay is OK till Easter but passes will have expired by then,” Sean Delaney wrote. This image was also included in the article:

  5. Serious theme: Steel Python Bright green track repaint. Keep brown support structure. Track Looks like a green tree python (a native Australian animal) coiling itself around a tree. Suits Gumbuya World's overall park theme of the Australian outback and wildlife. Tounge-in-cheek theme: Killer Python *presented by ALLEN'S* Do a corporate partnership/ride sponsorship deal with Allen's Lollies. Originally an Australian company (suits the Aussie theme going on at Gumbuya). Lends itself to a perfect gift shop exit experience - the official certified Allen's lolly shop. "Brave the python. Eat the python!"

  8. @JobeI posted many photos from my visit so i dont agree that there was a lack of coverage. https://www.parkz.com.au/search/photos/location/luna-park-sydney And in effect the captions on the photos constitute a review. And not a lot of people have been down to Sydney again yet. I decided to jump in the car on a Friday night on a whim to go visit, basically sneaking a trip in between when Qld fully opened and before Omicron fully peaked. Richard hasn't been there AFAIK. The dumb thing is this silly post i made about the Rockin Tug got more traction: Than my actual posts about BD and the photos:

  10. On that same page is a link to the Leviathan Construction blog. Here's how we got to where we are now: May 2019 - VRTP Announces plans to build New Atlantis September 2020 - Slab in place October 2020 - Leviathan's foundation is 'almost' complete, early work commenced on lift hill November 2020 - we get a close up look at one of the ride's turns December 2020 - Leviathan tops out with the highest point being erected December 2020 - Vortex opens March 2021 - Final timber frame - number 660 - to be installed in the coming days ... ??? - Opening Date Announced Late 2021 ??? - Opening Date moved to Easter 2022 February 2022 - Opening Date moved to September 2022 Let's be real here, Leviathan was originally slated to open in "Late 2020" so it's more than 18 months late Even if you give them a year to account for the uncertainy of covid - it's still delayed by 3/4 of a year. Vortex was slated to open before the end of 2019 - so they don't even get to use COVID as an excuse for that one, and it opened an entire year late. Meanwhile, Trident is pushing 2 years late and counting.
