  1. Unless you're on a very limited time holiday in a foreign country, there's absolutely no reason anyone should ever wait 4 hours in line for a ride. Movie World is taking the piss with these kind of operations and sadly it seems like the general public are all too happy to drink it up without a care in the world. Something needs to change otherwise Movie World is just going to keep on delivering the bare minimum and reaping the profits.

  2. Longest that I've ever waited for a ride here was Tower (peak summer holidays many years ago) and that was only about 2 and a half hours if I recall. I don't recall having to wait 4 hours for any of the attractions I rode at Universal Studios Japan, so why is this the same at MW which attracts only a fraction of the guests that Universal does, because of a mistake that can so easily be avoided. 1 train on a public holiday weekend is laughable, let alone during a school holiday period. What's gone on? Is the other train being done up or is it just sitting in the shed idle? Is there not enough staff to be running two trains? If it's being worked on, why wasn't the work timed with the two odd months the park has put Rivals under maintenance for in preparation for the June school holidays? For a park (and chain more broadly) that labels every addition under the sun as "world class" how they run the park day-to-day is as far from that as possible.

  3. With wait times like those MW are ripping people off.

  4. There was a time I would refer to Movie World as Six Flags over Oxenford but wait times like that are an insult to Six Flags operations. The parks lack a sense of urgency when it comes to loading and unloading a ride. Sure there are some exceptions but it is a shame. Heard they sold out of the now single use Fast Track in minutes so it seems all that matters is the money and not guest experience on a day like that.

  5. Sea World was also insanely busy yesterday, with over an hour wait for Storm and JR and about 40 minute for vortex. But again the operations were insanely slow. Vortex was up to 8 minutes between cycles and JR was 5 minutes. But, the worst part was Nickelodeon Land. That has got to be the worst designed area of any theme park when it’s busy. Every queue area is so small that the actual queues weren’t controlled and just went everywhere. Some queues overlapped each other so it make unclear what ride people were supposed to be lining up for.

  6. We were at SeaWorld today. We arrived at about 1pm (we went to Paradise Country early). Park was busy but we managed to get 2 rides on Jet Rescue and 2 on Storm (Storm rides were right before close). Operations on Jet Rescue are frustratingly slow. When the ride finishes, the passengers dismount but they never move the train to reload until every single passenger walks 25m to the photo room and closes the gate. Only then do they move the train up to loading. Now that the train is now in loading, it's time to start assigning people to rows, why can't someone be doing this while the ride is running so they can load straight in? I get it that the unload procedure is a safety thing, but why not rework the unload station so the gate is much closer to the train? Everyone was dawdling to the gate and it just prolonged the cycle time. On what everyone is saying is one of the busiest weekends, why only one train? (does JR even have two?), Why not have another loader/grouper? In saying all of the above, riders were just as to blame for delays but could have been helped by another loader/grouper. People were locked in and had to be unlocked as they still had hats/glasses etc on. Storm was great but only appeared to have 3 boats, not sure if this is normal or not. Two seemed to sit in the station while one was on the course, they'd dispatch one as the previous one was rounding the corner to unload. This is our first trip to the GC in 3 long years and the first trip really since I've been paying attention to how rides operate. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed fingers crossed the crowds get a little better after tomorrow. Bonus image of our park today, we were in the overflow of the overflow carpark

  7. Yep, 4 hours. The sign says 3.5 hours, but the app says 4 hours. I asked the attendant which was more accurate and she said the app and that they couldn’t find a 240 minute wait label.

  8. The low wait times, while are partly due to DW never really being as busy as MW, but also because of how good their operations on the ride are. The longest wait I’ve had is 30 minutes, which pretty much went down to the start of the queue, but because of two trains consistently running and the large amount of people they have in the station ready to board, it creates much shorter wait times.

  9. I imagine most on these forums would have some sort of annual pass, but I find it hard to believe a day guest would spend $110 on admission and walk away happy with the current park offering. There always seems to be at least one major ride out of action and some fairly lengthy waits on others (seemingly due to the park choosing to run fewer trains or have fewer staff present). And even of the open attractions, a few (Scooby, HWSD, JL) are in a pretty sad state these days. When Rivals opened it felt like the park finally had all the elements of a fantastic lineup in place. The ride offering isn't a problem any longer, it's understaffing and poor maintenance, and guest feedback is dismissed "because Covid".

  10. After spending the whole day at the park here are some things i noticed the park does well and what they do bad. good: - wide variety of food options with current outlets and new temporary outlets such as boost juice and donutime (even if they looked very out of place) - good guest interaction from charecters - wild wests boats and road runners trains are an improvement and it was nice seeing something to do with these ride getting some love - Batman exhibit is a cool and interesting experience, however one of the weaker ones out of the showcases. - Green Lantern was getting trains out faster then normal and the chain was completely stopping when there wasn’t a train on the lift, made it a lot more quiet. However, that’s all that really stood out in terms of the good things the park were doing. bad: - the operations were horrendous (excluding green lantern, scooby doo.) Batwing around 3-4mins, Rivals 5-7mins. WWF was ranging from 1-4mins. - very noticeable roughness on Rivals with the backs of the seats being somewhat exposed from the front which didn’t look great (could possibly always be there but this was the first time i noticed.) - 50-60% of the effects not working on JL, Scooby and WWF and barely any to none working in the villains unleashed area - areas such as the Kids area need new audio as it is nearly dead silent besides the noise of the rides and people (also an update is definitely needed.) - food was highly priced for bad quality - a lot of the park was pretty dirty and needed some TLC. - the Scoob 4D experience was not much better then yogi bear, with them just snipping scenes out of the movie, putting them together and creating a story that doesent make a lot of sense at all. - Arkham and it’s old tower facade are a bad eye sore and need to be replaced urgently, especially when 3 of the major rides were closed most of the day (scooby opening around 1.) - staff being miserable and rude, obviously not wanting to be there with some making comments about how sucky the job is to customers. overall it is obvious that the park is in decline, with it now being the third best on the coast (Dreamworld 1st, Sea World 2nd.) will make another visit in the coming weeks to see if there is any improvements. Hope this helps for anyone wanting to plan a trip or not being able to visit and wanting to know more info on what’s going on within the park.

  11. We had just visited Movie World yesterday, was only able to get GL quickly, and a virtual queue for Scooby. Superman and Rivals were up to 3 hour waits each, with an attendant at the SE line not allowing anyone else in until crowds lessened. WWF broke down while we were in line as well. And Fast Tracks sold out in less than 4min according to the staff. Horrible day The crowds weren’t managed very well in our opinion, with only one train on Rivals, and after visiting MW for over 16 years, this was a low point. At least the food was good! Also enjoyed the Batman Legacy showcase, pretty impressive.
