It doesn’t seem like they are aiming for a summer opening anymore as they haven’t been promoting it and it wasn’t included in the recent summer events email. I’d say due to the all rain, it’s caused delays with the ground works
Heard from DW staff that there may be delays with parts coming.

Dreamworld has announced the Thunder River Rapids ride will be closed permanently after four people were tragically killed last month.
The ride will be demolished and a permanent memorial will be built instead for the victims.
The Coomera theme park said it has made the decision out of respect for the victims and their families.
The theme park has been closed ever since the incident and it is still unclear when it will reopen.

But fury325 is 99 metres tall so the foundation and rebarb would cover a ridiculously big area anyway to support the structure.
If anyone can find a pic of any hyper coaster groundwork feel free to post it to compare.
Here are some construction pics of Fury325 from http://aerialvideophotographer.com/fury-325-worlds-tallest-fastest-giga-coaster/

Rocky Hollow Log Ride is down for over a month maintenance 15/02 till 23/03 odd for a water ride. Would you think the log ride would anything fixed up on in the way of TLC.
When I was there the other day the ride had people stuck on the ride on more than one occasion - maybe they found a bigger problem?
Also the timing on the brakes when sending the logs from the station were out of wack and started lifting the back of the log up before we finished passing it and it had only lifted the front of the log behind us.
If not a bigger problem maybe they were just having a bad day.

I asked the question regarding the kevil industries building and also if there are are any expected opening dates for mine ride and got the attached responce.
So maybe there are possible dates for reopening but they just can't share with us yet?
I like the wink at the end. Nice touch. Sounds like kenny and belinda are being a little cheaky.

I'd be happy with a serious ejector time hyper coaster - one thing about them is they seem to be a ride people don't get sick of (the same with airtime woodies), which would be good for repeat business. I base that on anecdotal observations from going to many parks with A-list air time machines and being able to talk to park management on organised tours as well. And I know I never get sick of most Intamin hypers and woodies (like El Toro) and RMCs.
I was led to believe at one stage many years ago there was desire for something higher than the tallest ride at Dreamland, now wouldn't that be nice? I can dream on, but I guess we'll know in a month or two.
Maybe something like King Da Ka. That would definately get my attention driving down the road.
Yes i agree that there was talk a few years back about a possible taller ride than the tower of terror.

Is it true that there are plans for a new Theme Park & Racing Circuit for land between Yatala & Woongoolba (North of the Gold Coast)
This will be on Seven News Flashback on tommorow Night.
They are saying it will have the fastest rides on the planet.
I have since located a post from earlier this year which can be found here regarding this:

What sort of "MAJOR ROLLER COASTER" can they build in 4 months. I think they could have just said roller coaster.Just to point out the obvious, but if anybody has read the latest report from Village Roadshow in says that the new Major Rollercoaster will be a 2012 addition. Does anybody have any information to say other wise? In my opinion (with the hesitated anouncement, & and also what Aussienetman has said) it would not surprise me if there is a delay in the opening of the new attraction. It seems that MovieWorld have tried to show that they are installing a new attraction without actually knowing what they are doing - Keeping up with the Jones's. I really hope that I am wrong because I know what Village are capable of. If anyone actually read what I wrote above - please excuse me as I re-read the the announcement and realised that I missed some vital information - FY2012. Probably just the beer. Just ignore me.

With work at the front of the park and now Looney Tunes River Ride Permately closed for a new attraction is Movie World now opening 2 new rides this year?? Only time will tell I guess.

Yes I seen that cyclone queing theme on my last visit however I was more impressed with the TOT2 themeing where a piece of mesh is falling of the wall (creates a building faling down theme)

No other footings holes etc were seen in the area apart from those inline with the first tower bolted to the concrete.Did you notice the location of any other footings?
