  1. Can anyone say how the night finally was?
  2. Actually stand-up coasters belong to the least successful coaster types in the world. If you've ever ridden a stand-up coaster you will agree that it is fun but actually I always felt that it would have been better as a sit down. The stand up position SOUNDS great but actually is not THAT exciting as it is imagined.
  3. You can see here http://www.lifthill.net/search.php that the first secion is in place. Nothing happened since. Well, a few palm trees, the control unit shed and two lights are in place - but no decoration yet. Today new containers arrived. The pieces on the parking lot are tower pieces 3,4 and 5. Piece no 2 accidently went - thats the rumor - to Mexico instead of Australia. That's obviously not WBMW's fault. But the ride should be definitively ready for the main season in Dec.
  4. Yes, it is true! Due to the massive success Movie World will do a SECOND Halloween night on 1st November. So if you haven't got tickets for the first night, the second one will definitively give you more rides as it will be mega busy on Halloween Night itself. Check out the Fright Zone in the Chinese Alley leading to Lethal Weapon!
  5. Wouldn't it fun to make like a meet-up there to ride the rides together? Did you ever do meetings here from the website?
  6. Actually you should check back your sources if Vekoma really IS the final winner because some birds are whisteling very different story now very recently.
  7. Oh no - a Boomerang. Didn't think of this option but it could still REALLY be an option. I do not believe they would put in another launch coaster as Tower of Terror does deliver this experience already. As it seems as if Dreamworld always looks for new things I first thought about a flying coaster (would kick ass Superman a bit) or is this completely over the top for this park?
  8. I'm from Germany and only for 4 months here in Australia. It was a big surprise to me to see a Spaceshot coming new nowadays as in Europe they are almost everywhere and do not raise attention anymore. S&S has a combo tower doing both ride sequences of Space Shot and Turbo Drop in one ride cycle which is FABOLOUS and in my opinion belongs to the best tower experiences out there at the moment. Or the funny Double Shots. A WBMW official exlpained the ride sequence of Batwing with you being shot up and falling down and then it does it all over again. MAYBE its a grown-up Double Shot tower ride? I'm hoping it. AND what do you guys say about the location of the tower? I'm afraid it crashes the great optics of Superman upon entering the park. However when you come down the Mainstreet towards the parks's Entrance its right in the centre of your view. THATs really nice. I somehow would have loved to see the tower in the Matrix Exhibit area or maybe at the end of the side-street to Batman the Ride. Its because those Towers do draw the crowds easily into corners of the park which are not too popular yet. Now all the star attractions are sort of in one place.
  9. It's quite obvious that they're trying to change their image before Dreamworld's water park opens so that their reliance on the traditionally strong family sector doesn't hurt them when Dreamworld comes along and takes a few hundred thousands of their guests. The competition race is on and I personally think that the TV ad is only a LITTLE too sexist but - hey - when you go out with friends and you are teen or twen it is the most fun to go there with mates and girls. I think THAT is what they want to promote. I totally agree that the teenage-oriantation is not good on the long hand as this is no loyal audience. Only one bringing in trouble. But H2O zone is definitively targeted at this audience so I think it is totally okay to do that presently. But there should be a "way back" with the next promotional phase to families.
