  1. You shouldn't be going by Ride Express to see if a ride is open @joel.
  2. @Brad2912When I quote you I get a "blanky blank" quote box because you replied inside of my quote box. I thank you for your answers but I have a small feeling you are incorrect.
  3. Nothing is ever strange at DW. Now that assistance is required to get out of the Log I highly doubt the unload platform will utilised too often. If the riders are kept at the top of the stairs before loading what is the purpose of the gate.? Even stranger why lock the gate every time? Does DW believe a guest will push past a ride attendant to get on or is it to keep the rabbits out? If the attendant stands on the outside of the gate as shown in the video what is the point of the umbrella?
  4. @pushbuttonWhat was the theme when it had mushrooms? What was the theme when it had an empty cave? The Danger sign as you entered the cave should have read. “DANGER you are likely to fall asleep while in the cave” (nothing to see here) @AlexB Is right. Removing the cave hasn't removed the theme.
  5. Where has this been confirmed it got past Pitt and Sherry review?
  6. Is it a conspiracy the Log Ride and Seal show open once QLD kids are back at school? I think the aliens prodded too deep and left you with some permanent damage.
  7. I wonder if a belly lift is procedure or has been passed on from one attendant to another. I know of two cases (Perilous Plunge & Texas Giant) where the cast member has thought they had secured an overweight guest within the safety limits and both fell out of the restraints to their deaths. Perilous Plunge - The seat belt was buckled and the lap bar was down, though they might not have been in an optimal position (the controls did show it was locked and when it returned empty it was still in the lock position. Neither manufacturer Intamin nor Knott's had written instructions for ride operators handling passengers whose physical characteristics might threaten their safety. After the Texas Giant it was discussed that: “Clearly, the takeaway from the Texas Giant incident was that one size fits all doesn’t work anymore,” he said. “There are way too many body sizes and types out there to go with a single point-of-failure restraint system.” The thing that is keeping me up at night is rides have systems to keep us safe but what is in place to guarantee a lap bar is indeed sitting on your lap and not your stomach. As shown in the above cases the ride control system only knows if the lap bar is down far enough. What it doesn’t know is what part of your body it’s holding down.
  8. What is the purpose of a mega topic "Theme Park Maintenance Schedules 2018"? If I go to WnW in November and wanting to wash myself in the Whirlpool Springs am I to come here and look through 30-40 pages to see if they are open?
  9. I had an experience at SW on Friday night. As I queued for Storm Coaster the male in front of me was a very large gentleman. I thought to myself there is no way this guy is going to fit under the restraints. It was easy to see. When he went to get into the seat the ride attendant told him to lift his stomach and she would lower the restraint as he sat. It was like synchronised swimming at a whole new level. About half way during this delicate procedure the attendant realised it was never going to work. She kindly told him he would not be able to ride and he would have to get off. I could see the embarrassment rush over his face. He was embarrassed and flustered and wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. For a large man he moved extremely fast and before the attendant could assist him off he was halfway out. He stepped onto the side of the wet boat to get out and lost his footing and fell. He landed flat on his face on the loading platform. The staff rushed around him and helped he back up. I thought this could have all been avoided if as he entered the queue the attendant that checks your height told him he probably wasn’t going to fit. I could see it and I have never loaded somebody onto a ride.
  10. Who is this fake AlexB posting on Parkz? I knew an AlexB once but I was told he was abducted by aliens and prodded and probed. Side question. How often are people seeing the backward seats empty? It’s probably a coincidence but whenever I’m passing by in the car, it’s empty.
  11. I truly don't believe the show was amazing. The company SW engaged to do the show had all the tools and none of the knowhow of what makes a great show. When I walked through the gates and cast my eyes across the lakes and saw the setup spread across the lake, it got me generally excited to see the show. After seeing the show, I describe the show as random. 1. The show had no depth to it. 2. The song selection was poor. 3. The lights didn’t line up with the music 4. The lasers were underutilised. The water fountains didn’t do anything. The transitions between the songs were strange. The finale was more let’s chuck extra random stuff together to make it feel bigger still without using the lasers, lights, and water effects to their full potential. In the world we live in everybody gets a trophy for trying.
  12. A Raptor coaster is not the biggest and the best and would never knock off Rivals. To add to this the wait times would be painful.
  13. No Corroboree or Trolls update. Some would say DW is running around in circles with their hands in the air.
  14. How many DW projects are currently on the go? 5 How many projects did DW have ready for Christmas holidays? 0 Can somebody show me where in the history of DW a new ride or attraction has opened in Jan/Feb period. Something stinks at DW at the moment and it’s not the Koala droppings.
  15. @CaptainLazerGuns I'm glad my partner doesn't read this site. You make me look bad.
  16. I must be going back to Disney soon because I've started watching live web cams again.
  17. Disneyland don't always double fence. Temporary fence with doors and no signage. Same doors painted yellow from inside the site. Today
  18. Health and safety laws require that people on or near construction sites are warned of all hazardous activities taking place. Before any construction work begins, builders must ensure that an adequate number of general safety signs, depending on the size and complexity of the job site, are erected at the workplace. A work health and safety (WHS) management plan is also required. According to current health and safety laws, before work begins the builder (i.e. the principal contractor) must prepare a WHS management plan for any workplace where the value of construction work exceeds $250,000. These are Queensland laws and all states differ. Apparently, us Queenslanders need to be told a construction site can be dangerous.
  19. It was approved in April to be built. I'm hoping AW will talk about it tomorrow.
  20. Interesting colour lifecycle. Hopefully MW are going to complete the paint job by repainting the trims too.
  21. I know what it's meant to be used for. When nobody is using it for a photo which nobody was in the photo it looks like a jack hammer stuck in the sidewalk. If they want something realistic they could go with this. </sarcasm> Or nothing says NYC like chewing gum. </sarcasm>
