  1. I wish the Joker face was on both sides. From inside the park it will look like a mess.
  2. DW changing surroundings. (Current) (2015) (2015) (2015) (Current)
  3. Dax Eddy president of AALARA & General Manager of Jamberoo Action Park has blasted the Queensland Government on ABC radio. Dax was angry worksafe never talked to AALARA while producing the "Best Practice Review of Workplace Health and Safety". He also questioned the report and why it was written before the Queensland coroner inquest into the incident at DW had been finalised.
  4. The Gold Coast Snow Park has currently put on hold their Gavan/Mudgeeraba/???????? but have decided to proceed on a smaller version in Surfers Paradise. The new location has a slab down but no council approval. GCSP want to have it up and running by summer. The site location is a couple of blocks from the Sling Shot & Vomatron. Gold Coast Snow Park lodged a town planing application on the 22/08/2018 The applicant wishes to utilise approximately 3,000m2 of the subject site for the development of a mini snow park and arrow tag tourist attraction. The purpose of the mini snow park is to showcase a future Snow Park that is proposed to be located on a separate location on the Gold Coast. The snow park component of the Tourist Attraction use is to include go - karts, tub by slide, tubby jump and free style test area. Although noted as a ‘snow park’, there is no snow to be used, but instead will use an artificial matting supplied by ‘Nevaplast’. The material used imitates the experience of skiing and snowboarding in the snow. The go-karts will be located on an area of 20m x 18.5m, which will sit on a concrete base to allow for the operation of the go-karts. The go - karts will be battery operated with the battery stored within the storage container that is located south from the attraction. The go-karts will operate on the ‘Nevaplast’ material. It should be noted that as these are battery operated, they are extremely quiet. Immediately to the east of the go-kart area is the tubby jump, tubby slide and free style test area. The free style test area and the tummy jump will lead onto the airbag that is located at the end of the attraction. These attractions will be constructed from a lightweight material elevated on scaffolding to achieve the height. The tubby slide and free style test area will have a height of 6m and the tubby jump will be 12m in height. In order to improve aesthetics, the applicant is to cover the scaffolding that fronts Ocean Avenue with mesh advertising devices. Lastly, 1m east of the tubby slide is the arrow tag attraction. The attraction is to cover an area of 20m x 30m, and will operate just on the ground within a confined area and will include inflatable obstacles that participants can ‘hide’ behind. The arrow tag is similar to ‘skirmish’ but operated with specialist bow and arrows. To protect the users of the mini snow park, the arrow tag is proposed to have a 6m high fence made of netting. After the operational hours have ceased for the day, the airbags associated with the mini snow park and arrow tag will be deflated. The food and drink outlet will be selling pre-packaged food for users of the tourist facility. The applicant is not proposing any food preparation on site. The site will be accessed via Surfers Paradise Blvd, Ocean Avenue and Pandanus Avenue. Old Promo Video before the move to Surfers Paradise.
  5. Rivals looks like the top of MR Potato head and the light are his eyes.
  6. 3 Coasters in one shot. If you listen to DW people don't like coasters.
  7. “In line with the Review’s recommendation, the Government will be increasing public protection by introducing new maintenance, operation and competency requirements for the inspection and operation of amusement devices. “This will include an obligation to prepare a safety case and the application of a licensing regime. “We will now begin working with industry to implement new arrangements which will be phased in, commencing the large theme parks from 1 December 2017 Go here to see the bill. https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/laws-and-compliance/best-practice-review-of-workplace-health-and-safety-queensland Note this is a Bill and not an Act at this point. This is the main part that relates to rides. Public safety 41. The Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 be amended to require that: a. mandatory major inspections of amusement devices, by competent persons, are conducted; b. competent persons are nominated to operate specified amusement devices; and c. details of statutory notices are recorded in the amusement device logbook and made available to the competent person inspecting the amusement device. 42. WHSQ, in consultation with stakeholders, determine the level of competency required for the inspection of specified types of amusement devices, and the level of competency required for the operation of specified amusement devices (including the potential need for formal licensing arrangements to apply in respect of certain categories of device), and that the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 be amended accordingly . 43. The Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 be amended to require, for operators of amusement devices, a similar regulatory approach to that taken for operators of facilities which use, generate, handle or store hazardous materials. That is, for operators and facilities whose amusement devices collectively present a high risk, require preparation of a Safety Case (which includes a work health and safety management system) and application of a licensing regime. For operators and facilities whose amusement devices collectively present a medium risk, require preparation of a work health and safety management system and application of a lower level licensing regime. 44. WHSQ and the Work Health and Safety Board consider the level of resourcing necessary to address the increasing risk to the public from work activities, and ensure PCBUs, particularly in the tourism, services and health care and social assistance sectors, are complying with their section 19(2) duty to ensure the health and safety of others
  8. Makes sense not tell anybody unless they are 100% sure it's ready.
  9. I thought they were always going for the start of September school holidays but saying October gave MW moving room. That date is nothing new.
  10. @AlexB I don't think the government will take on that sort of responsibility where they are signing off on every component. If the government signs off a component and it fails the government could be responsible. I think the worst-case scenario for the parks is it’s going to increase their paperwork. I have a friend who works for and aircraft engineering company and her job is to follow the engineers around and document everything they do. From what part they use to what tool they used to do the job. You won’t get an engineer who will sign off another engineer’s work.
  11. I'm not worried because I'm very confident the parks already do this stuff. The review was triggered by the DW incident but kids operating rides, rides NOT getting stripped down and not having mandate major inspections is not what happens at DW or MW. The Fake News are throwing images of DW at us because they don’t know what they are talking about.
  12. The logo should have been placed under the name. This way it wouldn't read DC DC to the untrained eye like mine.
  13. @Reanimated35 MW have DC in 2 times so I would read it as. DCDCRHC. So much easier to write Rivals. What is the go with double DC? Somebody was licking a toad when they thought that was a good name.
  14. I've dropped the whole DC thing. Rivals is how I roll.
  15. I just Philp Hue'd up my house for romantic nights. I tell Siri sexytime and all my lights in the house change colour. Now I can drop hints to my wife while I’m in another room. The closest I’ve come to this working is my wife yelling out to me “not happening” It’s early days.
  16. As far as I can tell the cap leaves a gap for the light to shine out top & bottom. 75% of the light ends at the bottom. I haven't seen on top so this might not be how it works.
  17. Not many people are going to be walking that close to them at night. For true representation, the photo should be taken from inside the car, windows up, at night while driving.
  18. I'm German @djrappa and confirm what you say about having bigger balls than the Swiss.
  19. Who is planing on doing an added extra this year if one is up on offer?
  20. It's better you mind your own business. @Reanimated35 No war here.
