  1. Following on from Jack's favorite coaster thread,What is everyone's favorite water ride? Mine is hands down - Splash Mountain I am just a child at heart
  2. Lots of jobs advertised in our local paper today,so it can't be too far off completion
  3. DC I have to agree about Ghost Rider(as you can see from my siggy),although it gets mixed reviews, some love it,some hate it. It's been a while since I have been to the US though, but when I was there it was smoother than any coaster in Australia that I'd ridden ( which was pretty much all of them at that time ) this is pre Superman I am talking about however, and of course the smoothness of the ride may have suffered in the time since then. So I'll say Steel = Superman Escape Wood= Ghost Rider
  4. We had an annual pass offer ($79 before Dec1st,$99 until Dec26th) with Batwing prominently featured on it. I think the AP offer is only good for QLD residents. We are in Brissie. And yes,we are seriously considering an annual pass especially at that price.
  5. Does anyone know what kind of ride that was? It looked kind of like either a Vomitron or Slingshot bungee type ride. I have to say, I didn't find it that funny. There is nothing funny about someone's terror. But I am biased, because I'd hate to see that look on either of my kids faces (they are only small though,it will be a while before they are up to coaster riding, although my 3 year old keeps asking me when she can go on the Reptar at Dreamworld...shes about 15cm too short) Theres 'good' terrified and just plain old terrified, and a world of difference between them, in my opinion. I cant believe the mum didn't at least hold her hand, even if she was laughing.
  6. Don't bother with the Batman ride, biggest waste 25 mins which could be spent on decent rides (or in the queue for a decent ride ) Heck the Star Wars ride at Disneyland (which is about 15 yrs older) kicks ass compared to that simulation. And why doesnt Batman have a face? I am talking about Batman here, not the new Batwing,to be specific. Anway my 3 must rides of Movieworld are Superman Escape and the Scooby Doo coaster and the wild wild west ride. Lethal Weapon is OK,but kind of shabby in theme/location.But then again,it is 11 years old I suppose.
  7. I'd love to see a woodie of the quality of Ghost Rider at Knotts Berry Farm here in Australia. I think if it was done properly it could be a great addition to Dreamworld. Alternatively a truly white knuckle steel coaster would also be awesome. A decent stand up or lay down coaster (where the riders are lying prone under the track) would keep Dreamworld at the forefront of 'thrill' rides. At the moment,I'd have to say that Superman is the best coaster in Australia by far,no question, but there is no real fear inspiring coaster in Oz at the moment
