  1. You are right. I did a quick scale photoshop of a Sky Rocket II. It fits! Not sure if LPM has height restrictions. If not, it would be a great investment for the park. It'll also be Australia's tallest launch coaster if built. Thank me later LPM haha.
  2. Anybody know if they are any closer to 2 train operations on Leviathan? Or do you think this will be something sorted out post peak school holiday period?
  3. This "new" ride cycle, is a safety feature working as designed. The ride has been programmed to run the original 1 loop cycle that was on Buzzsaw. But after the relocation and refurb of the trains, the ride seems to be running faster than usual; and thus it's entering the vertical brake run too fast for the brakes/computer to successfully catch it on the first go. So the brakes don't engage, giving the extra swing back and forth (killing speed) so it can successfully 'catch' the train at a slower speed. I've gotten this cycle multiple times now, and I think it really adds to the overall ride experience. A lot of fun!
  4. Yep! From what we saw, it looks like there will be 3 main queues: Standby (main queue), Fast pass, and single rider. There is also a dedicated switch back in the station for the front row, if you wish to wait longer.
  5. Media Preview Day - 19/12/22 Was very lucky to attend a media preview and TV commercial filming day of both coasters yesterday. A big thankyou to the Gumbuya World team for giving Parkz an early access look at both coasters! It is greatly appreciated. Got to ride TNT, but Project Zero was still undergoing testing and commissioning. My initial thoughts on TNT: Pacing and 'flow' of elements are fantastic. The beginning is surprisingly intense (for a family coaster), and ends with a tamer section that is twisty and just plain fun. This is definitely a back row ride for the extra thrills. The coaster is smoooth....even more than I was expecting. No vibrations, no jolting, no headbanging. Vekoma's next gen bucket seats and minimal lap bar harnesses are very comfortable. Theming and area presentation is looking great, but was still being worked on - especially the internal queue space. So I'll wait for opening day to give more thoughts on that. We got to see Project Zero test, and go inside the queue building. The station and queue space has got a premium office/facility feel - and really sets up the whole space test area theme. There is a viewing window from the queue that allows you to appreciate the speed and intensity of this coaster even before the air gate platform. Really interested to see how the old buzzsaw tracks since the rebuild, repaint and refurb. Overall it was 'sounding' a lot more smoother, quieter and less 'clunky' - especially the lift chain and vertical brakes. You can tell the whole team at Gumbuya World are very excited, and proud, about the 2 new attractions. And so they should be. Can't wait for the opening on the 23rd!
  6. Visited last weekend to get a glimpse of testing of TNT. I am honestly surprised at how quiet the coaster is - there is no rattling or banging/shuddering noises. You essentially just hear the air rush past the train. More theming and landscaping has been done on both coasters. Rockwork is being done on the entry and exit of the first underground tunnel on TNT. 'Distress' painting of the factory/shed station has been added, and the interior of the station is also getting some love now. Project Zero has an entry sign, and exterior space testing facility theming has begun to show up. The whole area of the park is now starting to look 'finished' and lived in, rather than a construction site. Just over 1 more week before opening day!
  7. An update from park's fb page shows that the drop into the funnel has been installed. And crews are working on the flying saucer element on the ground. Not long to go now. My bet is we see an opening during the week prior to Christmas Day.
  8. Thankyou Stevie for having the balls to say what a lot of members on this site are thinking, but are too scared to write. There is no need for you to say sorry, you have done nothing wrong. Yes, your comment may be considered to some as a little "nit picky", but it is ok to post those opinions on these boards - after all that's what this forum is for. I believe most members on this site are mature enough to understand that your comment as a whole was positive. And that you are someone who appreciates detailed theming and consistency in storyline. I think @New display name has the right idea. The logic is that the TNT inside the shed has exploded, causing the tin to deform outwards.
  9. Current status of Trident. Screenshot taken at 10:24am Melbourne time.
  10. Despite the terrible weather over the past 2 weeks, construction is speeding along! Track is complete on TNT, and themeing is slowly being added. A lot of concreting has been done around both coasters. I got to witness them installing the train bogies for TNT, which was a really interesting process. If you want to see that in chronological order, start here, and go backwards. They ain't mucking around, and are really pushing for that Dec 23rd opening! Below are some high-res photos from the visit. But there are more in the Parkz database - Project Zero and TNT.
  11. Below are some high-res photos from the trip to the park this past weekend. The starting tub, cropped Tornado 60 element, final S-curve and final drop have all been completed. The drop into the funnel was sitting on the ground (pre-assembled), ready to be installed next. Overall, I think the slide layout is really well paced, with an exciting beginning (flying saucer), middle (tornado) and end (s-curve into final drop). Looking forward to the bonus translucent colour effects. See more photos here: https://www.parkz.com.au/search/photos/location/supanova
  12. Maybe after Jungle Rush they could round off the area, with another supporting family attraction - a boat ride around the existing river. Not the return of the paddle steamer, but perhaps something along the lines of Snake River Expedition at Cedar Point.
  13. Project Zero delivers the visual wow-factor for Gumbuya World - towering over everything else in the park. It brings the "pre-entrance hype" as it can be seen from the highway and carpark/entrance. I'm also really digging the space retheme. The black truss support structure looks like a rocket launch tower; suiting the theme perfectly. Also, the white tin shed station and queue reminds me of Wonderland's Space Probe 7. It'll be interesting to see how reliable the ride is after the relocation/refurb, and how it rides. For more pics see here: https://www.parkz.com.au/search/photos/location/project-zero
  14. Visited the park this past weekend to get some pics of Supanova. As suspected, the slide will feature a "cropped Tornado 60", which makes the element more of a halfpipe than a full cone. Giving it a visual point of difference to all the other Tornado's in Australia. The slide's colours really pop/contrast against the existing Gravity Wave waterslide and the rolling green fields at Funfields. Another exciting edition to a really beautiful park! 15. Got to visit the park on Saturday 12/11/2022. Wow! Truly amazing to see rollercoasters of this scale finally being built in Victoria - it's been a long time coming. Construction is progressing very nicely, but still lots to be done before the Dec 23rd opening. The excitement from park goers was tangible, lots of people taking a look at construction. Below are a few construction photos of TNT. Will upload Project Zero construction updates later today. Lots more TNT construction photos can be found here: https://www.parkz.com.au/search/photos/location/unknown-suspended-family-coaster
  16. Here's a quick comparison of 1 day admission prices across the 4 major parks in Victoria for the 2022/23 season. From most expensive to least expensive (online purchased): Gumbuya World Off-Peak (LEFT). Peak (RIGHT). Funfields Adventure Park Geelong Luna Park Melbourne
  17. Gumbuya have posted a proper video showcasing TNT to their FB and Instagram pages. Also their website has a official countdown to a 23rd of December opening. https://fb.watch/gApzImM47r/

  19. Fantastic construction/park update from Mitty Theme Parks. Both coasters look to be on track for a Summer opening.
  20. Thrillseekers will soon speed along at more than 100km an hour and face the kind of G-forces F1 racers endure as Victoria’s biggest theme park gets even bigger. A pair of new roller-coasters will push Gumbuya World into the territory of Dreamworld and Movie World on the Gold Coast, with one of the fastest rides in the nation. And after last month splashing $2.6m on a 44.5ha rose farm next door to the attraction southeast of Melbourne, the operators’ total landholdings have reached an enormous 287ha — believed to be the biggest landmass owned by a theme park in the nation. The Australian Amusement Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) this week confirmed the Gold Coast’s biggest attraction, Dreamworld, only covers about 54ha, less than a fifth of the 287ha Gumbuya World now owns in Tynong North. They also confirmed the faster of the two new roller-coasters would be among the speediest roller-coasters in the nation at 105km/h — though still outpaced by Movie World’s 115km/h DC Hypercoaster. Gumbuya World chief executive Ron Weinzierl said the new coasters, worth a combined $40m, were just weeks away from opening. Mr Weinzierl said the new rides would bring their total to 13, in addition to a zoo and other nature experiences that were part of a broader plan to lure tourists to Victoria that would ramp up as the 2032 Brisbane Olympics approach. They include a 46m-high Project Zero, which will have riders pulling up to 5gs, and a more family-friendly attraction named TNT that will hit speeds up to 67km an hour along its 453m length. “These coasters makes us the leader in the theme park industry here in Victoria,” Mr Weinzierl said. “And on land size we are the biggest theme park in Victoria, if not Australia. “We are now competing up against those leading theme parks on the Gold Coast.” LJ Hooker Pakenham’s Sam Paynter brokered the latest acquisition and said Gumbuya was also now competing with the biggest dairy farms in the region, and that any expansion to the theme park was a “massive boost for the area”. “They’d be up there as one of the biggest landholders in the area, without a shadow of a doubt,” he said. Mr Weinzierl said the eco-friendly theme park, which is involved in a number of conservation projects including efforts to re-establish the critically endangered mountain pygmy possum, was considering renewing some of the latest acquisition to suit native wildlife once the rose farm currently operating at it reaches the end of its lease in seven years. “It’s an opportunity to make sure that nature and the fauna on the site stays the way it should,” he said. “We now have 660 acres (287ha) to be developed alongside the community in as far as what we do and what we put here.” Gumbuya World’s wildlife attractions are expected to get a lift in the near future, having recently added a tree kangaroo from Taronga Zoo, they’re now investigating bringing in meerkats and monkeys. The park had its busiest ever February earlier this year, but new rides are expected to bring in the biggest crowds yet with up to 5000 people on peak days over summer and total visitors as high as 500,000 a year. “I figure it will be our hottest summer yet,” Mr Weinzierl said. Gumbuya World replaced Gumbuya Park in 2018 and with the completion of its new roller-coasters will conclude the third stage of a five-phase masterplan to overhaul it. Phase four is expected to deliver accommodation, most likely eco-friendly spaces. “The goal is that people will come down, spend a day at Gumbuya and then the next day go to a winery or Phillip Island,” he said. Mr Weinzierl added the attraction was already expecting a “bonanza” when Brisbane hosts the Olympics, and Gumbuya World would be among the attractions working to lure international crowds to Victoria. An AALARA spokesperson said the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane presented “amazing opportunities” for the wider theme park industry and that they were working with the federal government towards a “bright and exciting journey” to the international event.
  21. We are getting a Fabbri Booster Maxx next year sometime. https://www.fabbrigroup.com/thrill-rides/booster/booster-maxxx/ It was reported in ParkWorld magazine (Spring 2022 - Part 2).
