  1. Don't think INFINTY would get built in sydney... who knows... an incident like what happened on Space Roller could repeat itself.... not a good idea for the youth in sydney
  2. No angels on it anymore, they haven't been seen since 2002 with the backdrop that Wittingslow had.... such a shame
  3. Apparently the ride isnt shaft driven like the Ali Baba.... there was a diagram years ago in which there is a large chain that is inside. This tells me that something must have snapped inside for the gondola to tilt to the left, and then continue tilting until the ride hit the ground. At the bottom of the boom, the ride has a cover in which you can see inside... O'Neills were checking this in Sydney this year, and they left the cover off while operating, it looks as if there is a huge bearing where the gondola connects to the arm... couldn't see shafts or a chain. I don't know exactly how the lower boom is made up inside.
  4. Thats me... I dunno why HUSS RAINBOW didn't delete... but it's me Chris... hence why I said everyone knows that I love it soo much. Anyway, something tells me it wasn't a ball bearing, it could have been something inside with the chain drive... Guess we will know in time
  5. Regardless as to what ride it is, this is still a horrific circumstance. Yes we all know that is the ride that I have loved over all these years, but hey, at the end of the day it is a machine, so whether it is the Rainbow or Wave Swinger, or even a Space Roller, any ride can have an accident. Luckily nobody died, and it just came down to broken bones and shock. Thankfully the ride didn't malfunction at a higher point in the cycle. I don't really want to deal with immature people saying things like "haha stupid Rainbow or Huss is crap" because it will just make you look stupid. My thoughts go out to the people and hope they recover quickly, and that Huss are able to come out and determine the problem that caused this accident.
  6. ZIPPER - Shorts do Sydney and Ekka as the two major shows, and they also have it down at Rye here in Victoria over summer. ENTERPRISE - Has been overseas with Wittingslow for a few years now, but has been rumored to be finally back in Australia and could well possibly run at Rosebud or Rye over the summer. RAINBOW - Still does Sydney Royal Easter Show, also does a short NSW show before the royal to fix any problems etc. Also ran at an O'Neills christmas carnival in Wollongong TWIN FLIP - Finally was back on the circuit and ran in Perth this year. MEGAMIX - Unknown as to where that is. SUPERBOWL - Apparently sold to watkins... or it might be bells... can't remember MUSIC TRIP - Ran at Rye over the summer.
  7. Neb, I remember claw had problems at the 06 Melbourne Show. It wouldn't lower, and for some strange reason, the gondola had to be reset by turning it a complete 360, while people were on it... then it lowered... No idea why its been playing up soo much.
  8. Lol TOT, you obviously don't know how to handle a Zipper ey.... I remember when I first rode it, I hit my head, now instead of sitting, I ride it standing up, with my head pressed against the top of the cage. Gives a much better ride, and I don't get thrown around.
  9. not too sure, probably mechanical problems, its happened before... but it must have been worse this year
  10. Neb, Claw actually did appear at the Easter Show, but due to mechanical problems, the show gave them a certain amount of time to fix the ride, if not, it was to be booted. In this case, the ride was unable to be fixed, and Chants were called to bring in FLASH DANCE. Apparently Durkins have been having a fair amount of trouble with the ride lately... time to sell and buy something new? Their INSANITY has problems too, but ran very well at Moomba and the Grand Prix. Rainbow was operating much faster this year, looks like it had a good service. Garry has kept it mechanically well and its good to see it running soo smooth and fast. The paintwork needs some work, nothing major, but its good to see it running. Also was good that Shorts were able to quickly fix the Zipper.
