As cool as having an aboriginal themed area im not sure DW would build something that can't have a 'brand' applied to it. Im not sure having a [brand] Aboriginal Area would go down well. I get the feeling that DW are very interested in applying themes/rides with 'sponsorship' in mind now days. Maybe they could re-do the Eureka area to the 'BHP-Billiton Mining Land'. LOL

Last time I was there i am 99% Sure there wasn't even screens let alone the stupid DVD. Not one electronic item in the queue (there isn't a lot) was working! It looked almost as if you were at your local tip shop, with dusty broken crap everywhere.

What I don't Understand is why DW just don't demolish it (as much as i love that ride!!) and just rebuild a new mine ride, maybe similar to scooby doo! but in a Gold Rush/Mining Theme! I think that would be pretty cool! a modern mine cart ride! What do u guys think?

I just emailed DW and got this response within 15 mins! Wow! Hi Greg, The mine ride is still on an indefinate shut down so it is not being promoted on our list of rides. The ride is old and due to its' age finding replacement parts has proven difficult at the least. As our rides are thoroughly checked by our engineering team against our high safety standards, the mine ride will remain closed until alternative parts can be found to repair it to our safety standards. Yeah i agree with you. However I really wish they would enhance/repair/do-up the older areas that aren't branded, like Fix the mine cart ride, give the rapids a facelift and maybe build up that area and improve theming. I also think that the Cyclone has pathetic theming it looks really bad. The only 'areas' that really look nice are Nick & Wiggles and thats because of Advertising and Royalties $$.

Dreamworlds latest 'Solution'............ Lets just go crazy with stupid coloured paint! that will make us look new and fresh!! maybe they should paint the T.O.T Yellow and Red and put a big 'M' on the side!! I really hope DW build something really big, a ride that will make people go 'lets go to DW there new ride looks cool!' And that DW put aside Sponsorship and commercial branding for the next 'thrill ride' and just build another Australian & or World first. Ive had my rant i shall stop

Of course they would remove it, why have a small 'free' water park when they can have a big water park that you PAY for... Well I suppose DW's owners are Macquarie Leisure Better Known for Macquarie BANK

I really wish that DW would just completely re-do the whole Eureka/Gold rush area. As a kid i absolutely loved it! it seemed so cool. Now though it seems old and ran down, like they aren't interested in the area. I really hope that this is true and it is actually being repaired to be re-opened!! But I suppose it is going to be re-opened (eventually) otherwise DW would have remove it off the ride list on the website.

The Ride looks really good! Strange though that they are spraying up huge jets of water and DW don't have any water on the wipeout anymore nor the fountain/pond at the entrance of DW 'that isn't in operation because of water restrictions' It must have a pool under the ride to catch the water???

the design of these newer maps are very 'Nickelodeon' Looking....... lol Not like the old Dreamworld style

Yeah Dreamworld have added new rides but the theming is almost non existant. I mean look at the theming for the cyclone whilst you wait to ride, I laughed the first time i saw it! I really want DW to focus on the 'Goldrush' area and bring that back to life + Add more rides and scenery. International Tourists can see Nickelodeon and stuff back in there own countries, Yes its bright and funky for kids, but kids arent DW's only patrons.

I personally prefer the older style DW, where Kenny & Belinda wernt size 2 clothes! Where the charectors werent dancing to rap music? When the "Goldrush" area was in fine glory! I used to love it! its crap now! I personally dont like the commercial branding, all the surf brands playboy etc.... Dont get me wrong the rides have gotten better over the years but the themeing............ What do u think?
