  1. Well what annoys me is that I will HAVE to back to MW to get my QLD VIP pass done a fourth time or something... everytime they print they either spell my name wrong or its already expired and the other day I was asked did you purchase this pass in 2006??? ITS BEEN AROUND SINCE LAST YEAR, how could I have purchased it that many years ago, (which they were also very rude) so I decided im not gonna waste my day lining up AGAIN I stayed for the day and at 5pm I went over to it to have it done, witht the place already shut, but still some people were in there. I asked could I go in as my pass had the wrong date and front gate staff told me they wouldn't let me in again, she told me no, come back another day. I told her I can't they told me they want let me in. She rudly and flatly said no I should have known what time they stopped doing passes (you think for guests it would be once people have exited not before 5) and I simply told her you should have known you stuffed up my pass 3 times and walked off. I dont really think I want to go back to get it fixed. Other things happened so I could have my pass fixed...only to be meet by rude staff. And the first time they spelt my name wrong no one knew how to change it and reprint after ages of trying to fix it they still got it wrong!!! It just annoys me... once fair enough, everyone makes mistakes... but three?
wow man i feel for you. Don't give up though, if you know your right be persistant. Once they admit to their mistake you might even be rewarded an extra year entry or something for the hasstle. I'd be fighting for it. Let us know what happens :)
  2. so many ignorant people these days. Michael Jackson created most of what we know today as music. It was ingnorant people like you also that made false allegations, attempted to steal his successes, which ultimately killed him. How about you guys come back when a theme park is made in your name, until then, keep your misguided opinions to yourself.

  3. Dreamworld has had that segway for quite some time. Might even be more than one. Very seldom used though. It's currently being used by entertainment staff to promote MTV in park.
if i remember right, in the last series of big brother, one task required the use of a few segways. Maybe dreamworld acquired ownership?
  4. Hi all, Just wondering if there is anyone in the know here that can help me out. My family and I were lucky enough to be given QLD VIP tickets to Movieworld/Seaworld/Wetn'Wild for Xmas. Jumped in the car and went down this afternoon to Movieworld. Only had the printed tickets with us, and got in the gate no worries. It wasn't until we were almost all the way home that we saw the fine print that you must pick up your passes on the 1st day of entry, as the print outs are good for one entry only. AARRGHHH. No one at the gate told us that we HAD to get these today!! Does anyone know how to go about collecting these passes. Tickets for my wife, 3 kids and I would be $500 to replace. Thanks to anyone on the inside that can help us out. Cheers M
hey mate, i think your best chances are calling up the park tomorrow as soon as they open and explain your situation. If they give you any hasstles just tell them you will go n get the vip pass that dreamworld is offering.
  5. Finally got around to seeing the show this morning. Had little interest beforehand and after reading the mixed reviews decided it was time to check it out. Audience interaction parts were funny and clever. It worked really well. The Hollywood producer is a terrible terrible actor.. please cut that part completely. There seems to be no need for it. The stunts.... cars going round in circles..... It got pretty boring after a while. The last sequence with the flyover worked well. The audience I was viewing with seemed to enjoy the show. Big cheers etc... but as a repeat attraction I doubt any but the diehard car enthusiasts would give this a second viewing 2/5
i have seen the show a couple times before i viewed it this morning. I think the cars were going much slower than usual due to the rainfall. Regardless i think the show is crap and would love the PA show back.
  6. Visited MW this morning to check out the Narnia Tour = attached some pictures from the attraction. Overview - Little tent just past Superman escape and near Lethal holds the queue. We were on the first group to leave right on 10. They tell you not to take any pictures while traveling to and from the Narnia studio as other movies are currently being filmed on site. One woman was filming and the shuttle was stopped midway to the studio. There is no voiceover or announcer on the trip to the studio. Arrived at studio 5, and it is holding the ship which was being used on the coast. Also holds some props, costuming and another set. The tour guide person gave a little bit of background about the set and the props, and then we were allowed to climb up some scaffolding and onto the main deck of the ship. Warned not to touch anything, but photos were allowed. Left the ship, got in the shuttle and returned to the queue. As a temp attraction this is just ok. It is incredible to see a set of this scale, however, the set by itself, and the thrown together feel of the entire attraction is off-putting. The studios are a mess. And i understand mw dosn't have the right to move in and clean up, but some of it looks like a dump. I had little to no interest in the Narnia movie before seeing the set, but will check out the movie now, just to see the set in action. Overall - If your into seeing hollywood sets - 5/5 stars - it probably dosn't get much spectacular than this. If your looking for an immersive experience like the long gone sfx show - don't bother. Also spoke to someone high up in management this morning (i was a previous employee at mw) and I asked them about the possibility of a return to full time studio tours etc. and they said while the park would love to do it, after the closure of this temp attraction there are no plans to start or create a new studio tour. nate couple more pics
I also went this morning, first group at 10.00 am. Small world huh. Check out my photos here. I thought the set was amazing and loved the atmosphere surrounding the backlot. I emailed the park with my feedback, i would love something permanent.
  7. i would love to see the narnia sets, i already checked out the narnia set that was built at southport and also the triangle set built just opposite the southport seaway jetty. Crappy movies or not, i like going to movie world as i love movies. I love knowing the who, what, where, when and how of movies are made, especially local productions. That is one of the main concepts to movie related parks, which unfortunately movie world is lacking.

  8. They did inform us - several months ago - around the same time that Dreamworld started offering their version of the VIP pass without blackouts - and making that a key part of their promotion. If you are a MyFun member, you would have gotten an email. It was also posted on their website, and in numerous places on TV \ newspaper advertising. More of the advertisements just didn't plug the blackout, but the online ads actually went into great detail with something like "due to popular demand"...
mm find that hard to believe as my whole family purchased vip passes through myfun when they were first released, in our household we have about three registered my fun users and none of us were emailed. Also i have seen tv commercials with wally lewis or whoever stating 'due to popular demand' etc but it didnt state in the ad there was no longer a blackout period, it just didnt mention it at all. I just assumed it was in the tiny writing at the bottom. you might be right, however i believe they are keeping quiet about it to keep numbers slighly reduced.
  9. You guys have no idea. There is a constant stream of productions at the studios, big budget hollywood productions come once or twice a year, lower budget hollywood productions and also Australian productions for both film and television. As of now i can list two productions taking up residence at the studios; "Sanctum" a 3D thriller presented by James Cameron about a group of travellers getting trapped in the largest cave system in the world. This will be utilizing the sound stages and also the large tank facilities. "Bait" is another 3D film from the director of the Highlander films, Resident Evil 3 Extinction and other films. Sea Patrol, H20 Just Add Water, Triangle, Narnia and others all have shot there within the last 12 months. Although filming may not be occuring every day, sets are being constructed, planned, props are being built daily. Backlot tours would be a killer for business, and frankly im surprised at how so many people say whaaaat when i inform them a certain movie was filmed just around the corner at Movie World. With the release of Daybreakers (filmed at movie world)imminent, why not put some props on display, do a bit of cross promotion? I would be more than content with at least a prop museum filled with souveneirs of each production to pass through the movie world gates. On another note i only just found out the blackout period for the vip passes has been lifted. You sly dogs warner village, way to inform us.

  10. No idea I was there in July and they were filming something with old cars anyone know what that was?
that would have most likely still been Narnia. They have been filming since around July and the Narnia books/movies are set around the second world war. They always do scenes in the normal world before travelling to Narnia.
  11. exactly...if it smelled like fart bombs, as you say, it probably was. I'm sure that the people at guest services would've let someone know. Just because a customer in a store doesn't see action being taken doesn't mean it isn't happening.
My family and myself all hold VIP passes. They went to Movie World last week and could smell the exact same thing, its obviously an ongoing thing.
  12. I was at Movie World yesterday and all day their was a foul smell throughout main street and other parts of the park. It smelt like those fart bombs where you squeeze a little pocket of air, then it inflates and bursts. Other guests were noticing it also. At the end of the day i couldnt stand it any longer and went into guests services. I told them and they just stared at me blankly but then said it must be the drains. They didn't show any care for the complaint whatsoever; as a result my respect for movie world dropped signigicantly yesterday. No one wants to spend nearly $70 to spend the day in a place that smells of faecies.

  13. Tolly1804 "for example larger pizzas, freshly made dough, they make less of a cut from cheap tuesday then dominos does for providing a bigger product as well...." We make our dough Fresh, from scratch every day of the week. We dice our own vegetables; everything is fresh. What you have to realise also is that when the price of food rose, all three main pizza chains had to take action and amend something to compensate for their losses. Both Pizza Hut and Eagle Boys as a result of this added a surcharge to any other base besides the regular. We at Dominos instead chose to decrease the size a minimal amount, whilst not charging extra. Gazza "How do you get the financial results of a competitors store?...I thought they were private? " Most of the staff, including myself are friends with the manager of their store.

  14. ive worked for dominos for 4 years.. theyre a great company. I cant stand Eagle boys they are pathetic. Have you ever noticed that ALL of their ad campaigns try to belittle us in a different way. They cannot find something good about their own product to promote. Heres a statistic for you. In the suburb that we operate, the Eagle boys down the street makes in one week what we make in 1 day!
