  1. Watched it the other night and will say after TPR being there then seeing the park on the show it makes me want to go and visit Silver Dollar City. Also interesting that they have other attractions under their banner and not just theme parks. There was one part during the episode that is a *facepalm* moment. You will know it when you see it.
  2. What I find interesting is that enthusiasts are winning the tickets. You think they would have a pass to the park to use and not require free tickets! One of the main reasons as to why I am yet to enter the draws.
  3. Looking at new attractions for this year we have the following: Sea World - Castaway Bay & Penguins Movie World - Shrek 4D Replacement? Wet'n'Wild - Aqualoops White Water World - Wedgie Dreamworld - Illuminate & ToT II Going by that list it seems that all the parks have something new this year. They might not all be opening at the end of the year but it gives those that were open earlier time to find anything that needs improving before the peak season. Back on topic I find it interesting that they're considering doing something like this. Motorsport theme has got me wondering if it is really enough of a draw crowd to get people in or it will be like the V8's at Dreamworld and only really there for those interested in it.
  4. I would be saying due to the travel centres when the M1 was built. Why keep a station in a isolated area when you have a new one with better facilities 5 minutes up the road!
  5. Was there last Friday and based on my visit any school groups will be gone around 2-3pm. After around 3pm motocoaster will have around a 5 minute wait. The worst queue was the Drop followed closely by Tower. Even around 4:30 they will still have a longish line. Don't let crowds early in the day put you off as come 3pm they should mostly be gone.
  6. No publicity is better than any? Seriously footage like this should have been used to promote the parade. I know if I saw something like that promoting the park on TV or before a movie it would get my interest in going!
  7. This is what happens when a contest is open to bogans!
  8. Bit more information from an email I recently found in my inbox:
  9. If you were John Lennon wouldn't you do it too. It would get kinda tiresome being someone famous all the time and you would need something fun and not serious to do Wonder if the next MW attraction/parade would be JL based. Seems they have a bit of an expert on hand
  10. Being from Toowoomba and doing a paper run there would be more dangers than the rush at Movie World. People there can't drive properly at all and surprised not has happened on the run. Being 14 and with a damaged wrist I am guessing there is something else he is unable to do as well! Maybe next time waiting a bit further away from the crowd might be on the cards!
  11. The $69 pass has been around since at least March so it isn't exactly new.
  12. Good to see the moment holidays are over they are starting this. Was wondering on Saturday how long the pieces would be in their delivery position before they started to use them for construction. Looking forward to the final result. Hopefully it will be good add a bit more to the experience. I also hope the queue line gets some needed attention whilst they are working on the ride.
  13. Create a movie themed ride? Well it might be an attraction but isn't AVPX movie themed? Whilst it is good to have a major recognisable name behind a ride I would like to see Dreamworld give original/generic names to their rides. Whilst there isn't the basis of a story already there it allows more creative freedom and means no worrying about royalties from licensing cutting into the cost of the ride. That and if the ride isn't too good there isn't a major name behind it (eg MDMC).
  14. Vekoma? Seriously? I know they are trying new things (somewhat unsuccessfully of late) but there is really only one manufacturer we need to see on the Gold Coast that will set Dreamworld apart from Movie World and provide something the public over here has never seen before done properly. Flying, floorless and stand-up are all types that will get that wow factor that Dreamworld are needing.
  15. Tower of Terror, Drop doesn't have a minimum number for it to run. I know personally they will run the drop with a single rider.
  16. Hmm, a hidden reason people would be getting excited over the coater
  17. It is bad that they have ruined Ocean Parade a little by putting AvPX in there but I know I would rather be a short stagger between attractions at a private hire than walking half the park to get to one. It would be easier for staff to keep the group under control too with no real in-between areas to wander off track into. Could have been worse, AvPX could have been an upcharge and hinder the entrance to another major attraction
  18. This I agree with. With a Vekoma SLC and a Arrow Looper as our countries "big looping" coasters we need something B&M. It will put Dreamworld back on the map again for major coasters and prove that we don't really like head bashing that much on our major loopers and don't want to put up with it as much anymore.
  19. If it is added I wonder if the lazy river will be like Wet'n'Wilds one and seasonal or they will have it going all year.
  20. Saw it tonight and must have got a different show to what some got. Was impressed with it. It is something new so for a first attempt I think they have done well. Being their first attempt at something like this there are some changes/improvements that can be made. Projecting things where people cannot see them is one. Liked that the fog machines were mostly hidden in buildings along with some additional lasers. The show is not perfect but as a first try I found it good and a great basis for them to improve on next time. More rides open too would be nice. If you are doing something to a nick character maybe keep the area open not just one or two rides. Will help keep people in the park and noise levels wouldn't be too much of a problem. Wedgie. I got off without one (my shirt was almost above my head though). Will say it is fast enough, any more speed and the water would be a problem. Seems to take longer than when watching people (could be due to trying to figure out what's happening and where you are). Was enjoyable and a great addition. It might not go vertical with the loop but is a great addition and good to see a body slide at WWW. They are two good additions for the holidays and wonder if next holidays will see something new done with illuminate.
  21. It does a loop, it isn't vertical but still a loop so I don't see the problem with that.
  22. White Water World has had Eagle Boys for some time now (would have to be over a year). It is only available at the Eagle Boys outlet and the food outlet near the front gate to WWW and not in DW as of yet. Interesting to hear about illuminate. Going to give it the benefit of the doubt and see it myself before judgement.
  23. Has anyone been on it yet? I was going to head down today but laziness got the better of me.
  24. They had technical crew on site today testing the lasers so not long to go by the looks of it.
