  1. And JD Bunnies how on earth did love dissapoint? I don't want to argue but I actually want to know. Havin safely seen it all in my time I want to know how this OMFG show fell short for you?

Dont get me wrong, there were some great parts to the show, but overall, the show seemed boring to me, with too many slow parts, where nothing happened. I have walked out of many Cirque shows thinking how amazing they were, this one didnt deliver for me!
  2. Been to both LA and Vegas many times, and most recently July 2012. In terms of Vegas: There is good shopping at both North and South Premium Outlets We saw 3 shows on last trip there. Terry Fator Ventrioquist at The Mirage(Outstanding show, one the best I have ever seen!), La Reve(Also a great show, never seen O to compare though), and The Beatles Love(Abit dissapointing, seen better cirque shows, Mystere was great when i saw it about 5 years back) For LA: I did SFMM, with the unlimited Platinum Flash, which i would say is well worth it. The park itself wasnt busy at all, except for Tatsu and X2, with X2 about an 1.5-2 hour wait all day. So the price of the Flash Pass for 2 people, roughy $200 from memory, plus X2 tickets at $15 per rider, it does work out to be expensive, but in the long run, we were on a timed Shuttle Bus to pick us up in late afternoon, and we were able to get every rollercoaster done thanks to the pass.

  3. Was recently in Florida in early November last year, and did both Disneyworld and Universal while over there. Both amazing places in general and great parks, but the standout would have to be Islands of Adventure. The best park I have ever been to. Great rollercoasters, great wet rides and fantastic dark rides. Well worth the many hours to get there! All 6 parks visted, the average wait times would be no more than 30mins on the most popular rides(Space Mountain, ToT), Islands of Adventure was basically walk ons most of the day(Realising this after already paying for the express pass!) except for Harry Potter&TFB

  4. Monsters of Rock The Show is MCed by a yank in a School Uniform, who brings 7 classic Universal monsters (Dracula, Frankenstien, Phantom of the Opera, Warewolf, the Bride, a female Mummy, They perform a few songs, with dialogue and banter between each song. The coreography, lighing, music and pyro were great, but some of them had screechy singing voices (The Bride in particular) I know I only named 6, but I have NFI who the pink girl is in this pic: http://www.rwsentosa...ollywoodTheater Worth a look..mage (for capacity reasons), when one goes up, the other goes down. The room is a big half cylinder. The projector is mounted on a pole at the back of the lifting platform,

Assuming this is very similar to Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue at US Florida, I thought it was a terrible show. I'll admit i dont know the whole background of the Universal Monsters, but the show itself wasnt enjoyable. Many other people walked out of the show also. How would you compare Singapore to US Hollywood and Florida overall?
  5. Universal Studios Florida to close 'Jaws' ride Copyright 2011 . All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed. ORLANDO, Florida -- Universal Studios Florida plans to close one of its oldest and most popular attractions next month to make way for a new attraction. The theme park announced on Facebook on Friday that on Jan. 2 it will permanently shut down its "Jaws" ride, which is based on the blockbuster 1975 Steven Spielberg movie. It was one of the original features at the park when it opened in 1990. The surrounding "Amity" area inspired by the island where the movie was set will also close down to make room for a new attraction. The park isn't releasing any details about what's next. Other original features that have been closed since the park began include the "King Kong" ride and a "Ghostbusters" themed stage show Read more: http://www.sacbee.com/2011/12/02/4095932/universal-studios-florida-to-close.html#ixzz1fQgo9E4M

Would love to see a "Transformers" inspired land built now!
  6. I have just recently returned from a great trip to Orlando, and going to both Disney and Universal Parks. But one thing that bothered me was on all the rides with lap bar or overhead restraints, the staff do not physically check them to see if they are locked. They will walk by and say "push up on your lap bar" for example. I even saw a Splash Mountain log launched before a person had even pulled down on the lap bar, and the staff member had to tell her as the log was released. I had never seen this style of checking until now. Has anyone else noticed this style or the reason for it?

  7. Your sure you were there NYE?! The only time SE went down was because something came out of someones pocket and hit someone behind them, and it was closed down for 30 minutes only.
30 minutes only?? I got on SDSC right on 10oclock, then walked to SE and it was closed, then went back after WWF, it had reopened, and then closed again. From the time I was there to about 1ish, it was only open for about 30 minutes.
  8. ^I think you probably just had some bad luck when you went, I mean what are the odds several major rides go down at once? (Would have to be a mechanic running around that day!)
Bad luck is right, it was new years eve, SE, LW, Batwing and BTR2 at one stage were all down at once. Spent most of the day trying to find a ride that was open.
  9. Took the chance to head to MW today with my brother as I am up at the GC for holidays, with the VIP Pass. Headed straight to SDSC and got on pretty quickly. Decided to head to LW but to my disappointment was having technical difficulties from the time the park opened. Then headed to SE, but once again, technical difficulties had closed SE. With a huge queue at Batwing, we took the walk to WWF, with a relatively small queue but with a "1 hour wait" sign at the entrance, we were able to ride twice within about 20-30 minutes. From here we went back to LW, but still had technical difficulties. SE had re opened, and while queing, the repeated message came over that the ride had stopped. Knowing the time it took last time to re open, we had no other choice, but to head to BW and Batman TR2. But no surprise BW was having technical difficulties with people on the ride. With hope one ride would work, we went on BTR2, with the usual library room and bat cave going smoothly, we got on the "Bat Plane," doors closed, and after a few minutes wait, the opposite doors opened with a worker saying the ride was having problems and we had to exit the ride. After all this, me and my brother both left the park at around 1:00, very dissappointed and frustrated. The crowds werent really a problem, it was spread evenly throughout the park, but it was just the amount of problems the park had today. I was intending to head to WnW tomorrow, but looks like ill be revisiting MW to make up lost time. BTW, does MW have ride passes?? I was surprised that we were just kicked off BTR2, and would have to line up again to ride it when it was fixed.

  10. Most of you would be aware that Disney has its own Cruise Line, yet I only just came across that next year on their new Ship Disney Dream, that it will have the first ever Water Coaster on a Cruise Ship. This might be old news to some, but I thought some people may be interested in it. Here's a few links on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBIsOcJTVi0...feature=channel http://0.tqn.com/d/cruises/1/0/t/7/5/Disne...am_AquaDuck.jpg

  11. Went to Movieworld on 24th April due to them being closed ANZAC day (there goes a decade old tradition).
Any reason why they decided to close movieworld for the whole day, intead of opening at 1pm on anzac day??? I think am behind on the news with this one.
  12. Man Claims 'Tower Of Terror' Caused Stroke ORLANDO, Fla. -- It's called the Tower of Terror, but one man says the real terror happened after he rode it. He says the ride caused him to have a stroke and now he's suing Disney. It is extremely rare for a personal injury case over a theme park ride to go to trial and most are settled or dismissed. Marvin Cohen’s incident happened in 1998. It has taken until this week to go to trial. Cohen said the ride itself is flawed. The man's attorneys argue the ride is dangerous and Disney failed to warn riders of the safety risks. “Do you have any comment about the case?” WFTV reporter Mary Nguyen asked Cohen. “No, I cannot comment,” Cohen replied. Marvin Cohen, 80, would not talk to WFTV about his case against Disney, because his attorney and Disney agreed not to talk to the media about the case until after the trial. “I'll talk with you after the case is over,” Cohen's attorney said. Cohen's attorney said his client was physically active when he first rode the Tower of Terror in 1998, but 23 days after he rode it he had a stroke. When people ride the Tower of Terror they get onto an elevator-like ride; it then drops several floors in a matter of seconds, as well as going back up. Cohen’s attorney said the ride can create whiplash that can seriously injure riders. An expert witness said she believes the ride caused the stroke. “This dissection could only have occurred from a severe torsional rotation about his neck that occurs hours to weeks prior to the stroke itself,” the expert said. Cohen's attorney is not saying the out-of-control elevator ride malfunctioned, but claims Disney failed to give riders an adequate restraint system and doesn't give enough warning for potential injuries. Disney disagrees and claims the ride is fun and safe for the entire family regardless of age. They argue Cohen had pre-existing conditions and his stroke was not caused by the ride. Disney does have signs posted in front of the Tower of Terror that warn riders with medical conditions not to get on the ride. The trial will resume Friday morning. This isn't the first lawsuit filed against Disney over the Tower of Terror, but the other case is a fight to ride the attraction. WFTV reported when Denise Mooty filed a lawsuit in January of 2009. She has internal scarring and says riding the Tower of Terror over and over somehow helps with the pain. The lawsuit claims a manager told her she could go on the ride only four times per park visit. However, Disney said she was banned after she cursed at a manager. That case is still pending.
He rode it in 1998 and the case is going to trial now, but how can they prove having that stroke, that it was caused from riding the ToT, 23 days before he had it.
  13. Three girls hurt in ferris wheel terror plunge A FERRIS wheel cage fell from a ride last night, slamming into the side of the structure as it plummeted 8m to the ground. Three terrified girls - two 15-year-old Queenslanders and a 16-year-old from Byron Bay - inside the cage were injured when it fell at the Byron Bay Bluesfest about 7.15pm. Witnesses watched in horror as the cage began to shake and come loose as it reached the apex of the ride. The girls were reportedly able to climb from the cage after it crashed to the ground. Three other cages on the two-storey 12-cage ride were filled with patrons at the time of the accident. Hundreds of onlookers immediately ran to see what happened. Police said the girls were taken to Tweed Hospital with neck and limb injuries as well as cuts and bruises. All three were in a stable condition last night with the injuries not considered serious. Labrador resident Erin Donkin, 23, had just been on the ride when she turned around and saw the cage fall. "There were three or four people in there, all on the one side which makes it unbalanced," she said. "They got caught on the structure, it got unhinged and just fell to the ground." Ms Donkin was shocked at how close she came to disaster. "I was thinking to myself while I was up there, `This is so high, what would happen if I fell'," she said. "I won't be getting back on a ferris wheel any time soon." She said at least 200 people crowded around the scene trying to find out what happened, before security pushed them back. Ms Donkin said the crowd did not get in the way of ambulance workers because there was an emergency entrance near the ride. Police were investigating the incident last night. The WorkCover Authority was also reviewing what caused the accident. A Bluesfest organiser said the ferris wheel was operated by a private contractor and not associated with the festival.

  14. Still I have to say this is quite disappointing. There is so much WhiteWater World needs OTHER than a looping waterslide. How about some more waterpark essentials such as a lazy river, family raft slide etc. Then they can look at these 'novelty' slides. I really think the park needs to grow significantly rather than just attaching a single new slide to an existing tower.
I was thinking the same thing. Before I red the article, I was hoping this could be the start of their expansion with the annoucement of this slide, but after reading it, it still looks like their expansion plans are being put off. Even after the past few times I have been to the Gold Coast, I still havent been to WWW, and now that both Water Parks are getting a similar slide, I still wont go past WnW.
