"The Doomsday tower is a possible new attraction for Movie World This world-first ride would be built at Warner Bros. Movie World and would be the world’s tallest ride tower with a height of 145m. This ride experience would feature a low speed setting perfect for those who want to get a bird’s eye view of the Gold Coast. The ride would also feature a high speed setting to get hearts racing for thrill seekers. On the low speed setting, the ride would travel slowly up and down the tower and then rotate slowly at the top of the tower, while on the high speed setting it would zoom to the top of the tower then spin at a high speed. Riders would be seated in one of three gondolas which each feature twelve seats. Riders sit in individual seats where their legs hang free and they are secured by a chest harness. A height restriction of 110cm would apply for safety reasons. During the day the ride would operate in both “scenic” mode and “thrill seeker” mode at pre-designated times. Below is an example video of similar rides operating in “scenic mode”.

  2. Definitely get Radiator springs racers fast pass first! This is an 'unlinked' attraction meaning that it does not 'count' as a fast pass which basically means you can get another fastpass at any other attraction immediately after (without having to wait the normal 2 hours). This also applies to World of Colour.

I recommend fastpass for RSR first, then straight to say HTT/Soarin for another fastpass, then straight to world of colour for a fast pass. That way you are holding the 2 'unlinked' fastpasses and another 'linked' pass all at once.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Soo We are spending 5 days in anahiem. Would you recommend spending more than 3 days at Disneyland/CA because if not the Southern Californai CityPASS looks like a good option? That said though we are going to Universal Orlando later in the trip.

We are also going to SFMM and SFGreatAventure which should be amazing especially with full Throtle opening soon. Since we are going in peak times a flash pass is a must because we want to get everything done at each park in a day. Is Platinium worth the premium over Gold?

Finally, does anyone have transport suggestions from NYC to SFGA. NJ Transist seems like a good choice but their earliest service arrives after 11am aparently.

    Thanks for the tips guys.

  4. Soo It looks like we will have 2 and 3/4 days in Orlando. We definitely want to go to universal. Would 1 day be enough to get everything done in the whole of universal if we had the express pass?

Also on the other 1 and 3/4 days would it be worth getting a Disneyworld Hopper to get as much done as possible across the parks (keeping in mind they are open really late) if we have spent 3.5 days at the Disneyland Resort earlier in the trip?

Or should I venture down to Busch Gardens for 1 day and spend the other 3/4 of day enjoying Orlando.

    What would you recommend?

    Thanks.

  5. I feel that a flyer (tatsu clone  ) would be a fantastic addition to Movieworld. There would be so many theme possibilties and I think the very unique experience and thrill offered by this style of attraction would be a huge crowd puller; more so than any other attraction at the themeparks. Undoubtably this would be well recieved by the public; but well enough to justify though the high initail outlay, thats the big question.

  6. Well I tried it today! Fantastic theming but the shooting rendered the story line impossible to follow. I pretty much had no clue what was going on throughout the journey just that we were shooting the starfish. I also think that the constantly slow speed meant no climax was reached. A few sections of bumps, dips, of even a small accelaration would improve the flow particularly in the final scene. Queue was very small and as above I saw a group thinking the exit was the entry and I feel that most people didnt even realise the attraction was there.

  7. Completely random question here: On SCSC how do the cars turn on the hairpin corners. Can each of the wheels assemblies ( 1 for each corner of the car) rotate (like a lazy susan bearing) to make it around the sharp corners or is their orientation fixed? Silly question?

  8. They really should have a pre show explaining what the hell is happening, because 90% of people don't even know what the hell Arkham Asylum is and who the hell the patients, guards, inmates and voices on the audio effects are. When I rode the ride twice yesterday, all the staff were doing was explaining that Arkham is a game, who the bad and good people are etc etc to confused people.

I would also guess that 90% of guests dont care.
  9. Plus Wooden rollercoasters are generally cheaper than their steel counterparts. It would be great to see one in the Wild West Area along with a family ride and thrilling flat. Movieworld is dire need of 1 or 2 flat rides IMO. With three new attractions like these added to the wild west area and the replacements of LTRR and BTAR2, Movieworld would have a very good offering of attractions for all ages and begin to compete with Dreamworld on the quantity level, which is a common complaint I hear.
