  1. Translucent: "permitting light to pass through but diffusing it so that persons, objects, etc., on the opposite side are not clearly visible: Frosted window glass is translucent but not transparent." I.E, the slide in this video is translucent:
  2. I was at WnW last week and saw the segments of slide layed out near the construction area. They are definitely transparent, and very colourful, much like the one in this video:
  3. I was at WNW yesterday and didn't see the slides anywhere. Obviously that's not 100% proof that they've been sent to Canberra, but I do agree that the parts in T-bone's picture do look very familiar.
  4. The bit that really gave it away... Wet'n'Wild with consistent attendance... classic!
  5. There were some images of the Spongebob illuminate show and The Wedgie this morning on Sunrise. Illuminate basically looks like projections onto a screen of water mist. It looked quite clear in the middle of the picture. I mostly enjoyed the fact that they called White Water World, Wet'n'Wild 3 or 4 times
  6. Actually themeparkgc is correct. It's during the helix before the brake run. if you look at this helix on google maps you'll see what looks like a white bird house just to the left.
  7. ^^^ I have had that same experence at MW. The attendant at the front of Sccoby has, on a few occasions handed me or my friends a ticket to give to the ride operator when we reached the front of the queue.
  8. Black Hole and the 2 River Rapids PLUS the 4 new Aqua Loops. It might be a tad dangerous doing a loop on an open air waterslide. Also just out of curiosity, has there been any sort of actual confirmation that Speed Coaster and Twister are being removed?
  9. Just to clarify Wet'n'Wild still do Tube Hire for $3 after 5:30 from the Calypso Bar.
  10. Surely they would go up in the H20 zone like the other recent additions. I understand the concept of wanting a new attraction to been seen from the highway but Kamikaze, Tornado, Black Hole etc are visible so there's no reason 4 Aqualoops wouldn't be. Also if they really are planning 4, the footprint needed would be much bigger than anything near the twister, unless they're able to make them all flush with each other.
  11. Sunrise just showed Mel and Nat on a backlot tour at MW. Mel said the Narnia stage and Dawn Treader will be open to the public from Boxing Day in a "return to studio tours for Movieworld".
  12. Late notice I know but Sunrise is filming at Sea World this morning. Just showed a teaser of Sea Viper & Jet Rescue etc. That bit should be on within the next hour or you may have already seen it if you're in NSW
  13. Why would they waste time saying that from Boxing Day the water in a dump bucket at WWW is coloured green, but fail to mention Dive in movies? I know he only had 7 minutes or so, but there was a lot missed out. Should've gone with one park a day for a week.
  14. ^^ Disregarding everything forx is saying... it has dug up some old threads. As for Matilda, she was dismantled and put in the staff carpark for several years. About a month ago, the three pieces were removed and taken away by truck so I would think it unlikely that we will see her return.
  15. Yes, that one is an official video. It's available on the myfun.com.au website.
  16. I don't mind simple spelling errors in some circumstances, but not when this is part of the community guidelines: In terms of the show, I agree that while we are not in America, there is no reason that the general public does not deserve a first class show. I am more than prepared (having been involved in several productions) to accept that for the first week or two there may be some teething issues but these should be resolved as soon as possible. I haven't seen the show since about a month after opening so I can't comment on it's present state but when I did see it I was reasonably happy. If you're unimpressed you're more than welcome to contact guest services to voice your opinion, just like every other guest to the parks.
  17. ^ The Funhouse was probably the highlight of my night on Saturday too. Dragon Alley was just a bit boring for me...Perhaps I missed some actors in there but I only remember one. Bedlam Manor was well set up and I liked the skeleton guy without his legs but other than that I also wasn't that scary. The Funhouse is a definite keeper though. There was a headless clown in their and when all of the kids were pointing at her she just popped up her head and started screaming at them. Loved it. The other highlight was seeing Fester chasing kids up main street at least three times throughout the night
  18. Yes the parks do take on heaps of seasonal casual staff, including some on working holiday visas. There has already been an intake for the september school holidays but there will be more staff hired as well. The sooner you apply the better. The employment page lists all currently available positions at WVTP (http://myfun.com.au/Employment/Overview.htm). At the moment only F&B attendants at MW and Wnw are advertised but you can always send in a general resume. Those positions are advertised as finishing in mid to late February, although some may be able to continue until the Easter holidays depending on demand.
  19. fair call! depending on how many people you're going with you could consider a maxi taxi, even if you have to share with another group. That'd cut the price into surfers as there are bound to be others if no buses show up.
  20. It's weird surfside isn't putting on any buses. I would've assumed they would've put at least one or two on considering the money they'd make. If not maybe a taxi to Helensvale and then a bus to Surfers?
  21. But think about it, if you could go to the park, whenever you wanted, between July 09 and the end of June 2010, would you really bother with a 2 week period when you know the park will be absolutely packed and the lines will be really really long? If it were me I might go and have a swim in the wave pool but I wouldn't line up for rides. I still think that this summer might even be a bit quieter than last year. There's no brand new attractions, unless the Pirates show at Sea World gets back on track and think that if people with VIP Passes come to the parks it will mostly be after 2pm for dive in movies.
  22. I think the point they're trying to make is that they think the whole thing might be a bit to scary for kids. You're still allowed to bring children but if you do, for whatever reason you have to stay with them. Parents do have a habit of dropping their kids off at the parks for the day, often not picking them up for an hours after closing time and I guess they're just trying to make sure this doesn't happen. Spencer, I have no idea of the details of this year's Halloween but I disagree. I really hope it is much more adult oriented; much scarier etc. There's just so many ways the nights could be done and every now and then it's good to change.
  23. exactly...if it smelled like fart bombs, as you say, it probably was. I'm sure that the people at guest services would've let someone know. Just because a customer in a store doesn't see action being taken doesn't mean it isn't happening.
  24. I know they were not expecting a very busy first night anyway but it sounds like it might be pretty quiet. Even in past years though there was much higher demand for tickets on Halloween than on the lead up nights.
  25. Fair enough, but my point was that there is no one that either has to work every single halloween night or couldn't request at least one night off.
