  1. I went to the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 1997, which I believe was its last year at Moore Park before Fox Studios was constructed? I also went to the Brisbane Ekka (which was terribly boring) in 2003. And I went a few times over the years to the Toowoomba Show.
  2. Ah ok sorry. I obviously haven't been to Movie World for a while, but the videos were compulsory when I last went.
  3. I just hope they don't spend too much money on pre-ride films and things. The one thing I hate about Movie World is having to watch the films before Lethal Weapon and Wild West. Once you have seen them once you don't have to see them again. And so long as they can keep a quick flow of riders through the ride to cut back on waiting times unlike that dreadful cyclone I will be happy.
  4. Well since I still wasn't sure what was happening since most of the poll was going towards RCT2, I haven't really started anything. And unfortunately I will be busy until the weekend so I won't get a chance to start on it, so someone else may wish to start off first.
  5. Yeah and it was because of RCT2 and its custom scenery and stuff which meant that my Dreamworld recreation in RCT2 was lost forever and was unable to post on these forums when I first came to this site. So RCT2 would have problems transfering between people and the expansion packs would make it impossible.
  6. I have just been playing with paint and a rough IOA like layout. What I can do is to make it in RCT3 with a large lake in the centre with rivers splitting the islands. Then I could add a rough pathway that makes its way around the whole park and across the islands. Also I could add a monorail track which does the same thing. Then members can choose which island they would like to do and then can modify the pathway and monorail within that areas to suit their area but have them join back to the main system. In the middle of the lake I thought of having an island so that someone can make a really good fireworks show to put in the centre. For this to work, we would have to have one person build their island, then pass the file onto someone else, and so forth until it is all complete. Eg, I could start by doing the Entrance island and then pass onto someone to do the next, while having people give suggestions as to what should be on the island etc. And in the end, if we have left over islands others can just make a second island. This makes it hard for those wanting to do it in RCT2 though since it would be hard to transfer an island design from one game to the other. But to answer a question posted by someone, I do have RCT2 and the wacky worlds expansion, but I would prefer to use RCT3 for this park since I have gotten used to it and want to ride the rides.
  7. How would you like me to start it out? I'm still a little unsure how it will work and how it will be divided etc. First I would probably need a few more ideas how to start it off first from others, eg how entrance set out etc, because otherwise if I just design it as I go how I like it, then it is hardly a collective members park but rather just my own and then would belong in the matty_o_911 park thread.
  8. The main problem with a sectioned park idea is that in the end, it may not work real well as a park itself. Each section that a different person would build would have to join nicely to the next persons section and everything, and it may just end up looking strange. Although what could work, could be and Islands of Adventure type thing with people building on an island of a pre-terraformed piece of land. The difficulty then is between those using RCT2 and those using RCT3 and so bringing them together to make a final park would be difficult with the different games.
  9. Alright, a few ideas I would like to see in a 'utopian' r-c.com.au park: i) Heavily themed park, eg. Disney/Studio theme park levels of theming (although it means more work for those building it) ii) Mass transit - eg. monorail and/or train system which is well integrated into the park and its design. And in the case of a monorail, doesn't just serve its purpose but also looks good against its surrounds like Sea World's monorail does, and I'd also like to see the monorail come out in front of the park over the carpark area like sea world again. (For some reason I have a thing about monorails - every non recreation park I build has to have a monorail. I seem to like them for some strange reason.) iii) Have a main street like entrance to the park, yet also having rides located close to the entrance gate, eg. Batman at Movie World. iv) I would also like to see a big centrepiece to the park like the Disney castle or the Eiffel Tower type things at the Paramount parks I think. I tried building an observation tower once and it looked really bad, so who knows if it would work or not, maybe I am just not good at this game. v) I'd also like some themed indoor rides, which are often quite difficult to build and so I have never really made any good ones before. The other reason I limit my indoor rides is because spending time enclosing something in a building and placing roof tiles on one by one is hell and is often difficult and frustrating. They are just a few ideas I have at the moment. So if others want to contribute what they would like to see, then we can start to integrate the ideas together and then can start work on building it. As well, anyone with ideas/themes/stories/names etc for individual rides etc should post as well and anyone who can think of a good name for the park should post as well. I am terrible at naming parks - every single one I seem to make seems to have the same name because I am not very original and creative sometimes.
  10. Yeah I should be able to start off with it and do as much as I can, then I get really busy, I will post it up here for someone else to continue.
  11. I may be able to find some time to do this, though I can't promise anything. But then again, it could be a progressive thing where the game file can be posted up online for someone else to take over and continue the work or something. But I would definately like to be involved. But if you like my idea of going for a fully themed and set out path encorporating everyone's ideas to make the perfect park we can probably start by collecting ideas from people as to the general park overview, eg should it be a Disney style park, a Six Flags style park and so forth. When I am trying to create my own Utopian park (I never finish them because I don't like my own creations), I usually like to make a rough map of the layout in paint or something, so people can suggest layouts and designs for things for this park. So if you want, everyone can just start suggesting anything they would like to see in this park or whatever. Later I will come back and post a few ideas I might have for the park.
  12. Or if you wanted rather than the park just being a mix of peoples rides thrown in together into a sandbox park, as a collective of rollercoaster and park enthusiasts we could possibly try to plan out a utopian park which is fully set out as if it were a real life themepark. Eg, people could suggest themed areas and path layouts, rides and their names and everything like that. I don't know how well this will work, but if it does I think it could look really good, compared to just a heap of rollercoasters placed in a park. But either way, I don't mind and I think the idea of a r-c.com.au theme park is great.
  13. Which game are we talking about? If it is RCT3 then I think it is a good idea and would try to help out.
  14. Today when I had a little bit of time spared I started having a go at beginning Movie World in RCT3. My graphics card isn't as good as my last one, so when I start getting some screenshots, the graphics might not seem too good. But I hope I can keep this park up, although due to limited RCT3 scenery, Movie World's theming may not turn out great, I am already not too happy with the entrance gate I built, but I will see how the rest goes. I will post some screens when I have built more around the entrance.
  15. My problem with the attraction is that the Wiggles have already been popular for quite a number of years. They are getting older and eventually will give up. Once the Wiggles retire, Dreamworld having a Wiggles World will be useless. I would have prefered dreamworld save the money they would spend on this so they can build something that would give Movie World's Superman a run for its money. Nick Central is enough childrens rides for the moment. Children are content and have fun riding the same ride over and over again (even I am) and so won't really care if there are two areas for them on either sides of the park. Dreamworld should have built a nice big family ride like a water ride that both young children and the "thrill seekers" can enjoy.
  16. This is the worst idea for a theme park expansion I have ever heard. Shame on you Dreamworld.
  17. I am not aware of any Alton Towers recreations for RCT3. Usually there are alot of recreations at the Atari message boards, however most of them are just progress threads and if they are anything like my Cedar Point recreation don't get completely finished for numerous reasons.
  18. Very nice park. Good job.
  19. I had a feeling that update two had been out for a while, but maybe I am just confused. Unless they only just released the European version of update two, but I think I downloaded the US version. But with the updates I had downloaded, I had no problems with the queue any longer.
  20. Perhaps the trucks were transporting them to a better place where they could be transported overseas?
  21. And the blue and red colouring seems perfect for a superman coaster anyway. I think that is the colour of several other Superman rides around the world. Although perhaps a roller-coaster being built in a themepark somewhere else in the world is having its track made in Australia and then exported out to them? That is my only other explanation for why the tracks were in Adelaide.
  22. If only I had a camera I probably would apply since I live on Brisbane's southside and I don't think it would be overly difficult for me to get to dreamworld by train each fortnight (depending on how much it costs for travel) and how busy I got with my studies.
  23. I don't think that there would be enough room in Gold Rush to do anything new though, even if the chairlift station is removed. But in the small space that there is, what sought of ride could be put in that still matches the theming of the area?
  24. If Disney hopes to be successful in Australia, they have to develop a new style for the themepark to suit Australia, because people can go to a generic clone of the "traditional" Disney park in several locations around the world already. Any Australian Disney park would have to be unique and given an Australiana theme for example so that international tourists would choose to go to the Australian Disney park over all of the other ones in existence. However this I suppose would make it less of a Disney park.
  25. I can see why they need to remove the skylink to build new attractions when they have the large area where Thunderbolt was to build something big, expensive and new.
