  1. Hi All, We went to WWW and DW to check out the Wedgie and Illuminate today... Firstly the wedgie...well we were shocked to find the area around the splash pool flooded. Obviously they forgot to plan for the "splash". There is no drainage or guttering at all.....just a splash trough thingy and some stairs. The water literally rushes over the sides and into the garden and surrounding paths....seemed like a real rushed job to get it built. Also I noticed that peoples watches and items not allowed to be worn on the ride were sent down afterwards in a bag. This process required a whole cycle to launch the bag down on its own. At one stage I noticed 3-4 people in a row needed items sent afterwards in a bag, this basically doubled the time it took. Illuminate was a real dissapointment unfortunately. It was interesting...but it seemed really poorly planned. Firstly the animated character which was projected on the front of the emporium wouldnt have been seen by most of the people on main street, this was not good enough considering many people were being instructed to sit down along main street to get the best view. The squid thingy which was being projected around the buildings just looked really cheap. The water screen was a big shame. Firstly I don't think there was enough water pressure so the screen was not smooth enough, also they made the mistake of placing the projector behind the screen. Due to the placement of the screen the "used" falling water was falling back towards the projector which was diffusing the image before even reaching the screen surface. The lasers were very good, however very repetative and became a little boring....I am sure most people have seen laser sky and tunnels before. Also that lonely little jet of fire which was shot up about 3 times during the show was a little pointless. I was hoping for several to work in sync with each other or wth some coloured water jets etc. Sorry for the rant, but, I was expecting a things to be planned a bit better. If you are planning to go and see the show its worth a look, personally I was a little dissappointed.
  2. Yes I was there on Saturday also. There is a large area fenced off around the base of the Hydrocoaster tower and it wraps around the "Highway" side of the park. The little food outlet near the wave pool on the highway side is also within the fenced area. So assuming this construction is for the loop I'm guessing they are going to place it so it gets maximum exposure from the highway.
  3. Hey everyone....after reading this post and my own experiences with WVTP I don't think I am going to renew my WVTP mega pass this year. My Pass expired at the end of Jan and I have to renew it this month to qualify for the renewal discount. I still have my DW platinum pass which is good till August. I have had the Mega Pass for 2 years now...and don't get me wrong I have been a huge WVTP supporter in the past. But after the last 12 months I am not so sure if I can say I have the desire to renew. Firstly I felt ripped off after I renewed it last year and then find shortly after the QLD VIP pass was introduced for only $99. We also had major problems when we first signed up 2 years ago after we purchased the passes over the phone and then our order did'nt exist when we got to the gate at MW to organise the member cards, it took over 30 mins to get sorted after lining up for ages. ( actually happened again when we renewed) Obviously very dissapointed with BT, not only with the flames and effects being removed but the general maintainance of the ride. The new Pirate show at SW is an absolute joke. The staff at MW have been a real let down. A few months ago I had some family with me and we took them to the gate to get our 10% discount and the lady at the gate told me there was no discount. On another occasion at the MW emporium we were also told that there was no discount offered to members and the lady was quite rude. MW Shops closing during the day give the park a very "cheap" feel. WnW is not a bad park, however its annoying to have to pay for a locker each time we go so we don't end up going that often. ( would be nice if there was some sort of discount for annual holders) When we go to Dreamworld, although we feel the ride ops are a bit slow and the park is not perfect. There is definately much better service, reasonable food and merchandise discounts for annual holders, separate express entry.... I think we may only renew the DW pass this year unless WVTP come up with a reason for me to sign up again.
  4. Hey all, I actually brought the CD soudtrack from the Emporium store a few years ago. Don't they sell it anymore...I haven't looked?? I can check to see what the song list is if you want?
  5. Does anyone know how they moved the Endeavour? I always thought it was just a fake ship sitting on a cement slab. But seeing it today out on the ski lake it looked to be floating?
  6. Getting back to the sound I heard I think it may be different to the "rattle". The sound I heard was more ...of a WOB WOB WOB ..knocking sound ...and it changed frequency with the speed. Thats why I thought it was a wheel or something like that as that would possibly wobble more as it goes faster I think. It was quite loud and we were in the third row and I felt it was coming from either in front or just below us. I also remember hearing it from a distance as we were walking towards TOT on the path behind it coming back from the Dingo exhibit. I also heard the rattle but that was definately more of a higher pitched metal type rattle.
  7. I rode it on Monday and it was making some strange noises...sounded like a wheel was loose and wobbling. I didnt think it reached any where near top speed also. We also had difficulty getting our harness to lock and there were a few bikes not in use.
  8. How long have the two cars been offline for though? It's not like they are unique cars, I am sure its not difficult to repair them....if they wanted to. Any one seen the reversing car recently???
  9. Hi everyone just watched it today. Definately only two black cars in action plus the one which breaks in half. Also the one which goes backwards was not used perhaps they have cut that out also. The show also seemed to be lacking something...it just felt like it was over sooner...obviously the scene with the reverse car was missing, but it also felt like maybe one of the video replay parts was not shown as I remember the part where you get to watch the semi completed movie seemed to have more impact last time... I am not sure... For me I think the show reached its peak a couple of months ago and has got worse ever since!
  10. Hey everyone just thought I would add my comments on this ride. I had some family up from interstate who have never done Seaworld before. I thought I would take them on Bermuda Triangle while we were at Seaworld on Friday (5th June). Now I have been on this ride many times however not in the last 2 months or so. Anyway, firstly only 2 operators so we walked through the breifing room, this was not a big deal for me however was a shame for my guests as they had no idea of the story line. Then there was about a 10 min wait to get on a boat, for some reason the operator was not using every second boat or so?? seemed she was too occupied helping people off the following boat the one before it would drift off... Then the boat we got on didnt have any sound...ok I am used to this but still, not good enough! Then as we started to climb the first ramp there was about 3 inches of water rushed through the boat which totally saturated our shoes, this was a shame as I had told my guests not to worry about that much water...I thought this was strange to have so much water in the boat?? (later in the day I noticed the operator bucketing water out of a boat) To make things worse as we splashed into the first chamber we got totally drenched (explains the water in the bottom of the boat)...I am talking 2-3 times as much water then on WW Falls...I have never experienced this on BT before, does anyone know what would cause this? there were only 4 ppl on the boat. Yeah I too found most of the effects were out of sync, or looking cheap and nasty. Also the projected video image on the section which shows the lava flowing outside..was not turned on. Then towards the finale when you go backwards through the room which colapses and fills with water I noticed that only the right hand side was in use. The left hand side was bone dry, sure this could have been a technical issue but something tells me WVTP was just trying to save a few more bucks and switched off half the pumps. Dont get me started on the crappy neon light in the volcano exit also ....its so cheap. So this was my latest experence on this ride, I sure wont be riding it again for sometime!!!!!
  11. Well we went to ride Scooby on Saturday as I was curious to see how bad it really was after reading some of the posts on here. I was on around 11.30am and I must admit we were pleasantly surprised. All the effects were going, music was loud enough (but not as loud as it used to be) the only thing we were not so happy with was there still could have been a bit more smoke. There was only just enough to see the lasers but not enough to create a solid beam or laser sky effect. Dont know if it was just us or not, but it did feel as though it was running faster as it speeds up after the turntable? After that positive exerience I was ready to give Leathal weapon another go, as last time it was so rough I swore I would never ride it again. Even leathal was relatively smooth considering my past few rides and I only had partial earlobe damage The park had a nice atmosphere and am now looking forward to taking my family when they visit in a few weeks. PS any one notice how the discount for renewing your annual pass is now only 15%???? thats only 5% more then everyone gets on the Myfun site....not happy!!!!
  12. Hey All. I was able to go to AVPX yesterday, actually I was in the first group that went in. There were some problems with the computer systems as non of our scores were displayed when we were leaving (both times back to back) but thats ok I was expecting to have some minor issues. I thought the theming inside was very good. I feel sorry for the hosts, they have a lot more to do then to simply read out an opening line and send you off on a ride. They have to act out the scenario, talk you thru how everything is going to work, suit you up with your gun and vest, work the AV and laser systems (all of this while kids shoot lasers in their eyes) then walk you into the arena and "supervise" you. The only thing I didnt really like is that I was expecting it to be more "you verses the aliens". I was expecting Aliens to be hidden through out and having to aviod them and hunt them maybe some sort of story to follow etc. After running through the arena I then realised it was no different to your typical laser tag. There is an area up the end of the arena where there are alien eggs to shoot however this doesnt really add much to the experience. Over all it was entertaining and I will do it again for sure, however it wasnt quite what I was hoping for. We then went over to MDMC, it was deserted and we got straight on. I thought I will give TOT a go as I have been avoiding it for months due to queues, however after a 5min wait I realised it had broken down and gave up. We then headed over to seaworld and it was packed, cars were parked right over in the grass area. It was so busy we left after abour 20mins. I am getting sick and tired of these q150 passes as WVTP have been so busy lately.
  13. Oh yes I had a feeling it was there but I had never been to the park back then. I guess that would explain why there is chunky cement stadium seating. I saw a the Shrek show there last year, is there a show there now?
  14. Wow that was great footage! Can some one tell me where abouts that western show was located?
