Both seem like a cock up from an operator/maintenance person. (From the very limited info on each of them til the reports come out). So I wouldn't say the coaster's are more dangerous, but there's always risks associated with everything, even more so things involving human interaction.

I think the blame for keeping the visitors away is the poor maintenance of theming and lack of atmosphere at the park. Hopefully now they're starting to fix that up things will turn around for them.

For me they always lit up the fact that you're in a lift too much. IMO that should be the darkest part of the ride.

Physically possible? Yes Getting Dreamworld to shut down that area of the park, AND White Water World? Not going to happen. Better chance of a new car design (just not like SV though) and having it painted black like a race track. Have the station redesigned to the race control tower, paint the station to look like a grandstand/starting grid and throw in a start/finish line.
